Blind Item #15

"Aren't you like 50? Why are you here?"

Question asked in the desert this weekend to this former A- list singer in a manufactured group turned reality judge mainstay, who really had no answer and just walked away and shortly thereafter out of the party.

lol but really. It's a good question.

When you're old, you're supposed to bring the booze and drugs. Then the kids will think you're super-cool.

@Cail Corishev- "When you're old, you're supposed to bring the booze and drugs. Then the kids will think you're super-cool."

For about 10 seconds. Then they want you to GTFO you pathetic old POS.

Was she covered in lizard blood?

Unknown said...

That’s rude and hurtful. Mel b may be trying hard to get down with the kids but she’s a spice girl and respect is due, but not to posh, not keen on her.

These millennials are a shady dumb bunch. When I was younger I liiiiived to hang out with the older crowd. They were extremely generous, they had the best drugs, more money than I had and access to clubs my underage ass couldn't get into without them.

#TEAMGEELJIRE CLASSIC said...

Hanging out with older people is the best way to potentially avoid repeating the mistakes you watch them make.

Miss Demeanor said...

Millennials are a rude, self-absorbed bunch. I'd much rather hang out with someone older and wiser than their bratty asses.

+1 @ chase. Ain't that the truth!

rachelstargirlrox said...

As a millennial, fuck hanging out with millennials. They're annoying, immature followers who can't hold their liquor and have terrible taste in music. I, on the other hand, listen to music other than EDM and drink/ do drugs like a goddamn lady. :)

What a horrible snot that person is. Karma's a bitch, she needs to watch out. She (I am assuming it was a woman, maybe not) She sounds like a horrible, awful person to be around. I would have left the party too, who would want to have that kind of toxic energy around. Life is way too short.

americanpanda said...

Seriously the college age kids these days need a fucking slap i the face that they never received but they should have as children.

No need to be rude. I particularly don't like Mel B, but there is just no need for that, why say anything at all? That's the problem, these assholes think everyone needs to hear their stupid opinion...... oh wait.... what am i doing here LOL

but seriously there was no need for that

Amartel said...

Apparently she felt threatened ... by a fifty year old. Sad!

Ernie McCracken said...

You can keep your exclusive millennial social gatherings. I'm not down with the kombucha martinis or farm-to-table heroin that today's "yutes" are probably into anyway.

Unknown said...

As if Coachella is a cool place for anyone of any age. Poor 18-35 year olds. They have no idea they're not cool.

Sharon Mitchell said...

Weird. I've seen Cage the Elephant and the Pixies, and there were people of all ages there.

Sal Salington said...

This falls into the "someone wish they said this but in reality chickened out and sent it in as a blind" category.

High Class Jackass said...

I can hear the millennial voice exactly: Aren't youuuu....? Liiiike....? Fifty.....?

Hard pass.

gauloise said...

On the Shania Twain blind, absolutely everyone in the comments were tearing her down for being 50 and enjoying herself and having a great time at Coachella, saying she was desperate for being there and how pathetic she is, now here is a blind of people being rude to Mel B at Coachella because of her age, and people are like go live life to the full! My head hurts from the hypocrisy ;)

Mstyles said...

When I was younger I loved kicking it with older people.
As others stated they had the booze, the drugs, usually liked good music, had apartments, cars and honestly life lived that we could learn from.
Stupid kids.

americanpanda said...

@Gauloise - i just thought it was fucking random of Shania to be hanging at Caoachella with Nicki MInaj and her crew, absolutely yes. Where has she been?
If that's not fucking random, what is?? LOL!

Brayson87 said...

Her mistake, she forgot to bring coke.

gauloise said...

@americanpanda It is def a random friendship, and laughing at that is understandable : ) but a lot of people were specifically saying she is too old to be there and calling her desperate and pathetic, not for being around Minaj, but strictly for her age.

gauloise said...

@americanpanda I probably shouldnt have said "absolutely everyone" but a lot of people :)

AIP said...

Rude little fuckwit, whoever said it - they may have a point, but there's no need to be so cunty (depending on the context).
Now who they said it to is a different matter, I know it's meant to be Mel B, but usually her response would be to headbutt the arsewipe back into the womb.

#TEAMGEELJIRE CLASSIC said...

This is great commentary on the general attitude of CDAN on any day.

Randyman said...

whoever said it likely wont make it to 50 which is the sad part

delcodave said...

is there a reason why it is forbidden to say "coachella" and everyone has to say "in the desert"?

J-Mo said...

This was probably said by some Instagram celebrity in a "VIP" area, because of course, it's about the music and the musicians who are that age, and not about the next selfie.

Todd Brink said...

Well.....I'll be 50 in July.... guess I'll be going now

americanpanda AMEN!

TimC said...

sounds like time for me to throw a party near the coach and invite any age as long as you're to cool for school. sorry, kewl. i'll invite the Mills, why not, they'll be the only ones i charge $100 at the door.

Sd Auntie said...

Yes millenials are so rude and annoying. And the pixies are like 60. Personally, using a porta potty and sweating in the desert is not my cup of tea. Love going to concerts and have never experienced such rudeness ..even in Los Angeles.

My God people, this 'millennial' thing again. Are we still ignoring Gen-Z exists? Nearly two decades into the millennium and we're still on this generation as the 'youth of today', c'mon. In reality, this generation is almost raising 'today's youth' themselves (adolescents). And actually, since Mel B was born in 1975 (hardly aged 50), she's maybe five years removed from the oldest 'millennials' herself (and she had a very much millennial following in her day). This term and and its related ones are like a joke that got out of hand - they have been around for a very long time, but only recently have become inescapable. (Fun fact: they were just meant to be marketing categories).

secondskin said...

Add what is the deal with this Coachella festival being 'unsuitable' for anyone old enough to have full brain development? It's just a rock music event is it not? Pretty sure we're LONG past the point where rock music is associated more strictly with youth like back in Woodstock (after all there is no rock n roll/youth rebellion culture to speak of any longer - seriously. That sh**'s over.).

Lisa said...

Yes @MontanaMarriott! I looked up to older people and thought they were cool when I was that age. I hear agism wih the millennials and it will just make growing older harder on their egos.

KittensRUs said...

I hope the person who said that ages every bit as beautifully as Donatella Versace.

Freckles said...

Why can't people of all ages enjoy the music?

the 80s were awesome. us boomers used up all the fun in the world.

the world was our oyster, now it's their ashtray. enjoy!

I was at a boomer party this weekend, one couple had just returned from Scotland, was getting loaded on the single malt rotgut they brought back.

their 'photos' from the journey consisted of frames of their insipid faces obscuring the background historic landmarks.

ignorance is bliss, freedom is slavery, war is peace...

Gen-X were never nearly as cunty as Millennials.

Aoife said...

I'm not a fan of Mel B or her former group but whoever said this was just plain rude.

Hanniam said...

@Geeljire

Ain’t that the truth! The older crowd has the best stories. I was always grateful not to feature in them.

Hanniam said...

@Todd

Yes. Out to the nearest pasture with you. Apparently.

Hanniam said...

@kiki

Being that cunty takes energy. We Xers are famously too apathetic to muster enough.

Unknown said...

This is Nicole Scherzinger

orangesoda said...

Shit, that's just rude. If the older celeb (assuming it's Mel) was there enjoying herself, not hurting anyone then what's the problem?

Xanadu said...

The problem is, they have no respect for those who paved the way for them. It's the ingrained sense of entitlement that irks me.

It's like Lady Gaga refusing to concede Madonna had any infuence on her, or her current existence.

It is a cunty attitude, that's new. Gen-X never had that.

Give credit where credit is due, little bastards. Spice Girls always gave a shout out to women who influenced them and made the path easier.

Chest Rockwell said...

well Millennials and Boomers can agree on one thing: No one is worse than fucking Generation X. From Erik Prince to Brett Ratner to Billy Corgan, let's give it up for all the irony-poisoned bros in their late 40s / 50s who turned America into a shitty myopia in their own disaffected image. Salut, or whatever?

I’ll be 50 next week, so I’ll go ahead and check into a nursing home. Let me know when you arrive-we can have a hot milk and cookies date and maybe a wheelchair race.
