Coming out doesn't get a mag cover anymore, not unless it Arnold Swartzanager.
Apparently, in order to get on Glee you had to be either gay or Mark Salling. What a world.
Good for him! It's too easy for those of us on the outside looking in to shrug our shoulders and snark, "Well, duh, he's a Glee kid." I can't imagine the strength of character it takes to open himself up to expected ridicule and diminished roles simply because of who he's attracted to. The more people who are willing and able to take that enormous step will help those who continue to live in fear of discovery. For every Michael Phelps suffering from depression, there are thousands of others with the same problem. The more people willing to come forward the more those of us watching from the sidelines will take comfort in knowing that we are not alone.
The only Kevin McHale in my world played power forward next to Larry Bird.

Anyone else remember early first season when Chris Colfer made an unscripted coming out statement on a talk show? He’d been “discouraged” from outing himself but decided he’d rather be out on his terms than anyone else’s.
Starting to wonder if the Glee show runners cracked down on the rest of the queer cast members after that except for their “token” trans character.
Kind of like:
Murphy: lokay, guys. Chris is out, so if you’re pissed, he’s why you can’t have nice things. That’s our one gay person. The rest of you are now officially heterosexual unless any of you ladies would like to - “
