Remember when those grainy nude pictures of that B-list actress and former tweener baring everything (and I do mean everything) were somehow leaked and her career almost was derailed? It was never specified who those pics were for when they were first "leaked". Well, first of all she was very underage and the pics were taken two years before she the role in that Disney TV movie which made her a star and launched a million dollar franchise. The pics were for a series pilot that was to be produced by that now disgraced tweener show producer on a rival tweener network... or so he told her. There were far more explicit photos that she sent to the producer, and he sent them on over to that now disgraced mogul who you all know in case the mogul wanted to use her in the future for his harem of starlets. Fast forward to 2006-early 2007 when the sequel to that TV movie was about to go into production. Our actress is now a star, and in a successful bearding relationship with a male costar bringing in more cash. Her agent gets a call from the mogul who wants to meet up with the actress for a possible movie role (you can see where this is going) but the best friend/frequent costar of the actress tells her not to go as well as her agent. When the mogul hears about this, he flies into a rage and calls the tweener show producer to get those photos, or at least one photo. The person they employ to leak the photos was this then new gossip blogger who was very hesitant about accepting their offer, but he was looking for some traffic to his site. So gets paid to "leak" the said photo which goes viral and engrosses the actress and the blogger in a feud which lasts for years (they are on better terms now because he told her he was forced to post the pics). Meanwhile, the actress gets called to the carpet by the director of the TV movie and the CEO of the company which owns said cable network. They are worried that this may taint their newest franchise and they threaten to replace her with another tweener who would later become a successful adult singer if she doesn't issue a statement. She issues an apology, says her computer was hacked, cease and desists are sent, etc etc. She stays with the franchise for the next two installments, but her chance at A-list stardom was gone. Whether or not she'll go public with the truth about these photos will remain to be seen. She's probably been paid off not to talk

Who would forgive AJ Benza anything? No one would believe he was forced to do anything, he's damn proud of his dragging anyone, of any age, through the mud for hits.
+1 Tricia. Hudgens had a nude photo come out well before the fappening. Which would make sense for the HS Musical timeline.
The bearding was for Zac, was AJ Benza a new blogger then? He was known years before. Perez? I thought he posted those pictures.

I doubt it's AJ Benza because he did newspaper gossip in NY for at least 15 years and did a lot of tv too. It's most likely Perez Hilton.
I don't necessarily agree that Vanessa's "chance at A list stardom" was gone only because of those photos, however. 2006 was well after Paris Hilton had used a sex tape as a career builder.
With some solid management, Hudgens could have leveraged the release into a "now I'm an adult" type moment that would have put her on the way to better roles.
Whether or not she has the talent for better roles is a question.
Even at this late date, an appearance in a "Lady Bird" type acclaimed indie (she actually could have played the brother's girlfriend role in that one, the part played by Marielle Scott) could create lots of publicity along the lines of "Hollywood rediscovers Vanessa Hudgens!"
If you want to see someone whose career is really dead, look at Ashley Tisdale. And that can't be blamed on the release of some naked photos.

I remember when the leak happened, they said she was 18 and the photos were for Drake Bell.
I'm confused by why it says the mogul was calling someone to get the photos, when it says he had already been sent the photos, which were what prompted him to want to meet her in the first place.

Perez started in 2001 so he would have been a little more established than dlisted during the 2006 timeframe

It's absolutely Vanessa Hudgens. I remember when the pictures leaked and the subsequent Disney panic that followed... It's interesting to know the whole story now.
I agree she still has a shot at being an A-lister, with proper representation. I know it was just TV, but did anyone see her as Rizzo on Grease: Live? She performed the live show a day or two after her father died of cancer and the general consensus was that she killed it-- best performance of the ensemble.

I really liked Vanessa's show "Powerless".It was hilarious and original and had a great premise. So of course NBC cancelled it.

He may of convinced her to wear Marchesa (no wonder, it's an ugly brand) but no roles she was offered had any connection to him. Look over Lively's CV. She hasn't been in that much and all of it mediocre fare.
Then look at Gretchen Mol's who no matter what her descent has been working all the damn time, sometimes on very prestigious projects. She's been very busy. Harv certainly did help her out, rather than dump her, though Mol ain't a terrible actress either.
Lastly, look through GOOP's IMBD page and marvel at how high Harv could elevate an unexceptional actress.
Based on projects alone, I don't think Lively did much for Harv since she seems to have benefitted very little. Maybe she just liked Marchesa? Ugh. She has wretched taste then.

@plot - sorry, yeah, not convinced. Gawker did a whole expose on HW before Rose and Ashley brought about their allegations and Blake was definitely called out.

I really doubt it was Perez since he wasn't new in 2006-07. But I find it interesting your name tag combined with the fact that Bella Thorne allegedly hates Perez.
@plot - also, it didn't necessarily have to be Miramax movies he'd put them in. As this blind shows about Vanessa (maybe), he could make or break careers, whether with Disney or any other distribution company. Just because Blake wasn't in many Miramax films doesn't mean anything. It was her sudden explosion on the scene out of nowhere that caught people's attention, or as Lainey said, the whole blonde "It Girl" phenomena.
Does anyone know whatever happened to Ashley Tisdale? Did she refuse to sleep with Weinstein?

You sound much more informed on this than I am (I've only seen Lively in The Town, nothing else, which was connected to Harv through Affleck.) The explosion of Lively through the media, I didn't witness (learned to ignore The Next Best Thing articles long ago.)
So I'm going to bow to you on this and wonder why, if Lively was meeting Harv in hotel rooms for roles, she didn't go very far.

@plot With Blake I think it’s more that she is happy now taking the back seat now to Ryan Reynolds’ career-she was being cast in pretty high profile Hollywood stuff before they married -now she seems to be keeping a much more low key profile. Having young children and maybe not wanting to wound the sensitive ego of her husband probably have her wanting to not be so heavily in the game-doesn’t mean she wasn’t being cast in lots of high profile stuff before then (The Town, Savages, etc)
I'm nowhere near this. When I was writing gossip for the NY Daily News, Hudgens was ages 2 years old. When I stopped, she was 9. I stopped writing for a newspaper in 1997. I've never had a "site" looking to get hits or traffic. My podcast started in 2017. And when I did help Harvey it was to keep ONE story out of newspapers - his marital affair with Georgina. It's all out there. All you gotta do is read.
@Nawlins Jim - great call on Blake not wanting to upset RR and taking the back seat now versus seeing her everywhere before. I remember reading that a big reason his marriage to Scarlett Johansson didn't work out was because she had the bigger star at the time and he didn't like it/felt inferior to her.

Harvey was good to the women who were good to him, the rest he tried to destroy or rape. It was interesting that most of Harvey's girls were sh!tty actresses, as if a lack of talent was a turn on for him.
Definitely Vanessa Hudgens on this one, it was a big deal when that pic came out and seemed strange. Of course nowadays no one would care.
@Lucy yep indeed- plus ScarJo is clearly not the domestic type. Blake seems like she’s genuinely more content being the good housewife and staying at home to raise the kids than Scarlett ever would have been.
@Plot yeah I think Lucy nailed that piece-ScarJo is obviously no shrinking violet and I think that was too much for RR after awhile.
@Brayson- who would be more amenable/vulnerable to bartering with Harvey: someone with massive talent, or someone with little to no talent, other than looks?

AJ wasn't new then nor would he post child pornography. Would he discuss it? Probably. But this is more of a Perez thing or that other site www.we.....something. I will post it when I remember it
