Blind Item #6

As part of its deal with the disgraced child molesting/ pedophile director, this movie studio HAS to spend at least $500K to promote him as Best Director for a recently released movie. He could be convicted of child rape and they would still have to do it. They signed this agreement knowing his past.

I wonder if this would satisfy the terms of the contract: give the $500K to me and I will email everyone on my contact list suggesting that they consider him for the nomination.

I know nobody in Hollywood.

Don't do it. Let him sue.

I call B.S. on this blind! 3 months later enty will drop another blind as to how a backroom deal was reached and the disgraced director kept his mouth shut in exchange for x number of young boys!

Close to $150m worldwide on the weekend. A good jukebox musical is a guaranteed hit.

That Esquire article should've hit before Halloween. It didn't, and now the movie is gaining steam, reviews are great and Oscars are sure to pile up.

In particular, Rami Malek is a lock for a Best Actor nom.

He deserves it for his excellent portrayal of Freddie Mercury, but his unconventional ethic background (Egyptian Christian) will help too.

Going Roman P on this one.

Still waiting for shit to be exposed. Looks like a whole lot of nothing while these pervs still get paid.

Rami Malek is interesting, quite a chameleon. In the clips of the film I’ve seen on TV he does capture elements of Freddie, but I could also imagine him playing a young Mick Jagger, I even saw shades of Prince at times in his portrayal of FM.

I liked Malek a lot until I found out he signed onto Bohemian Rhapsody KNOWING Bryan Singer was the director.

I guess he decided his future awards for the role were worth working with a rapist of hundreds of boys.

hope he doesnt ever have kids since he clearly couldnt care less

well allow me to help out the studio and Singer with promotion. If they have no problem with sexual assault, then they should have less of an issue with copyright violations.

Best way to watch any Bryan Singer studio movie. Bootlegged, and no royalties paid.

Yes anyone with an amazon or similar type of streaming device might do well to consider adding an APK to watch Bohemian Rhapsody. Very easily done. Loads of easy you tube tutorials. I of course would never dream of doing such a thing!

Did Any of you guys deliberately avoid the movie this past weekend? @notthisagain,maybe Malek was in denial when he signed on. The most convincing charges were out later, supposedly they didn't get along at all. What is the other director's name? Maybe he should get the nom?

@Guesser

Accusations go back to early 90s.

Could he have been in denial? Maybe. You’d think he or somebody on his team would have noted it before signing up. I’d like to be wrong, I’d like for him to have been clueless - cause I rooted for him before. It’s upsetting,

2014 was the biggest most famous case against him and his DEN friends.

Bryan Singer directed 95% of it and ditched the film with ten days left of filming when Dexter Fletcher stepped in. Singer also edited it all in post.

Jeez, you can make cash off any piece of garbage musical as long as you don't go over budget, people love songs, they should have had more characters singing in Solo.

@ Nutty_Flavor, Egyptian Christians are Coptic Christians. That is an actual denomination.

That BoRhap film made a ton of money this weekend. I read plenty of articles slamming it for rewriting history, and I am not talking about Freddie's sexuality. The film did more than take dramatic liberties it is telling outright lies.

One article stated you can't pick Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon out of a line up after watching this film.

They should have listened to Sascha Baron Cohen. Maybe he can do a film based on some of the biographies that have been written, he won't need the band's permission for that but he will need their permission to use their music. Like we need to hear more of their music.

P.S. They sound much better live. I was pleasantly surprised when I attended one of their concerts.

@notthisagain, I understand what you are saying but following that logic, Malek and other actors would never work in the entertainment industry again. I just don't pay for movies and cable. My conscious is clean.

Guesser said...

@notthisagain, there may have been accusations, but the same could be said about Weinstein,Cosby, etc. But until recently, this didn't include rape allegations. Certainly stories about his barely legal pool parties, with rumors about them not all being legal. But again, we would have to be consistent and never see a film by any actor who ever worked with Polanski, who confessed and was convicted, or Woody Allen, who most people believe is guilty. As for the film, stories during the filming stated Singer frequently didn't show up.So possibly more than you stated was done by someone else. But knowing Hollywood,Singer himself will even get noms, however undeserved, much like Polanski and his standing ovation.

Fun fact: it only took a few hours after peaceful Obama and pacifistic Hillarity illegal emoved Egyptian president Moubarak from power, and installed Morsi from the Muslim Brotherhood, for the Muslim Brotherhood in Egypt to start burning down Coptic Churches everywhere, kill Copts, burn down their houses, rape masses of women in Tahrir square and throw any gay they could catch off a tall building. They then proceeded to vote in a law that allowed men to legally marry 8 year old girls and even making it legal to copulate with your DEAD wife, up to 6 hours after her death.

Without Obama and/or Hilarity, none of this would have ever happened.

Happy days.

@TW, there are some articles online fact-checking the movie. There are some discrepancies, particularly over-emphasizing a hiatus in the 1980s to seem like a bitter breakup. But I wouldn’t call it “rewriting history.”

Sacha Baron Cohen wanted to make a movie about Freddie’s decadence. That was certainly part of his life, but only a relatively small percentage of his life (roughly 1976-1986, when he learned he was HIV positive.)

This movie does show Freddie in leather bars, making pickups, kissing men passionately, and ultimately finding a male partner. It’s not a “straightwashing.”

Not paying pedophiles and pedophile lovers is the way to go.

When I explain to my friends why I don't want to see a particular movie they think I'm a raving lunatic.

"If the gossip is true why don't I know about it"?

*sigh* They thought I was nuts when I whooped at an awards thing when someone made a casting couch joke & the camera panned to Harvey. Then the shit came out & they STILL don't listen to me.
