Basically, he was known for style over substance at the time, even though he was the Wimbledon defending champion. Sampras defeated him in a great quarterfinal match on the way to his first of seven Wimbledon titles, then mocked him on Letterman by impersonating Streisand's cheers from the player's box: "Come on, Dre! I can speak from experience, my husband has helped me build my business a lot. When we met years ago, we both didn't have very much of anything. If I based everything on how much money he made when he was in his 20s, I would never have stayed with him. Now we're in our 30s, and I don't think that I would have done as well as I have been if not for his support. The same goes for him, and now he makes almost twice the amount that I do.
