i think it was supposed to help her with her career but then he got too controlling and since his own career is in the crappeR (although he was funny in Tropic Thunder) - he won't let her do any of the roles that come her way.

Also to hell with Nicole - anyone that gives up their children (regardless of if they came from half your DNA or not) without fighting tooth and nail for them can not be called a mother in my eyes.
