She used to write a column for the local SB paper and then quit- and the paper that she worked for owns a AM station that broadcasts her...

I agree she is hard to take sometimes..but I personally love her advice, now that I am a married mother of a 6 yr old.

She takes part in the Santa Barbara yacht club activites- she races boats every wednesday- her boat almost always comes in in the top 3. She rides a 3 wheeled harley around town- and plays pool at the local pool hall.

OT I just heard that Morgan Freeman had a 10 year affair with his stepdaughter who is now 27 which means he was screwing her at 17.

According to DListed he and his second wife raised the daughter of his first wife.

While it still could very well be Dr. Laura, did you notice how the blind is written. It doesn't say exactly that her flagship is in the 2nd largest market, it says she is getting dropped by her flagship AND the second biggest market. So it could be any major female radio host who is syndicated into the LA marketplace.

When I used to drive alot to work I would end up listening to her program, this was pre-2000. I used it as background noise and she was no worse then than anyone else. I was surprised at her bio - she's a hypocrite to start and the fact she's no longer orthodox says some other unpleasant things. Haven't heard her since 1999. Don't think I am missing anything and from the buzz I hear... this is her.

Without a doubt "Dr." Laura. She's an infamously disagreeable bitch. Rosie may have caught her on a good day, but I've got tons of stories from persons who've worked with her or associated with her and what a royal, hypocritical, PITA she is. Including folks in the radio biz who talked about how she'd bring her kid into the station with her when he was little and let him run riot while she did her show. And a Jewish women's group in Dallas was absolutely appalled at what a demanding bitch she was when she made an appearance for them. When they wrote about it, she had an on-air meltdown. So many people have had ugly run-ins with her. A guy who owned a surf shop was harassed unmercifully by DL and her rabid fans after she decided some of his t-shirts were 'pornographic'.

Good riddance to bad rubbish.

I work in the radio biz, and while I have absolutely no inside scoop on this, my money is on Dr. Laura. She's one of the few we would consider A-list. And her ratings have been dropping off in recent years. I have worked with and met some total douchebags in my day, and I can tell you in all honesty, that Dr. Laura was NOT one of them. I completely expected her to be a total asshole diva when she did a market visit. I psyched myself up for weeks, preparing for a day from hell. She was the most low-maintenance national "talent" I've ever worked with (the only special request she made was that I tell her the location of the best bead shop in town.) She went over her alotted time at a client gathering so she could make sure to meet everyone, and then she even placed a personal phone call to me the next day to thank me for everything. As much as you may dislike her views, opinions or delivery on the radio, in person I can assure you she's a class act.
