How utterly ridiculous that she was led away in handcuffs. Had they let her in the worst that would have happened would have been what exactly? True, a parent should never let their kid wear that to prom, but there are lots of crappy parents out there who don't care about their kids and let them do whatever. Its a wonder there aren't more kidnapping with the way some people watch their little kids in public.

I grew up in a crappy white trash town where an alarming # kids in my classes in school would talk about doing drugs with their parents. at 14! Its really sad and just one example of why so many people end up screwed up adults I think.

Most schools are now zero tolerance, not "one more chance." I've never heard of anyone being given a chance to go home and change and come back for a second inspection.

A few years ago a local high school made the news because they were doing a panty check on all girls before they could go to the school dance in the gym.

Yeah, the school could have said that she could go home, put on something more acceptable, and return to the prom.
