You folks do understand irony, yes? The character description "older, but not aging, film, but not indies, and definitely no television" seems more the way that SP would like to think of himself.

Or perhaps just that his main claim to fame is not as an indy or TV actor, but as a major film actor.

RWP's revenge act was awesome. Right up there with the movie scene from Waiting to Exhale where Angela Bassett dumps gasoline on her ex's car full of expensive clothing and lightsit on fire, then smokes a cigarette and watches impassively as the fire truck shows up.

Timmy/Shimmy anyone? the clues, wording don't fit, it's that simple. It's a BS BI "reveal" made to fit current headlines. No different from any other reveal, ALL other reveals, that just DON'T fit. The writer here throws out shit & when a news item occurs for real people it becomes the "reveal" and you FANATICS always say the clues shouldn't be taken literally. Well then what's the fucking point? It's either the vague at best clues or it's not, you can't have both.

See, what would have made me not guess Penn for this was when EL said he does not do indie films. Hell, Penn directed one of this year's best indies, "Into the Wild." And he's in pre-pro for "Milk."

21 Grams, I am Sam, Hurlyburly, Before Night Falls, Sweet & Lowdown. Sean was in all of those. I'd consider those indies. When I think indie, I think small films. Non-blockbuster, not heavily promoted movies like bigger studio fare.

And he did a couple episodes of "Friends" so the definitely no tv threw me off too.

I've got no problem with the BI details fitting Sean Penn. If you look at it from the standpoint of recent history, and how he is most commonly known as an actor. I don't think of him as an indie actor, and I'm pretty certain he would never consider doing a TV series.
