The woman wanted so badly for everyone to think she was sooo witty and worldly, but, like Tara, she never cared about anything that happened outside of her tiny neighborhood. But, somehow, I don't feel nearly as sad for that woman as I do for Tara. In her little neighborhood, my ex boss had everything she needed in her family and friends, and was mostly happy with that. I get the impression that Tara is still searching for her place in the world.
