I actually agree with Kristin. Seems like every month a teen girl is running off with the "love of her life" that she met on facebook, etc. and getting into all kinds of trouble. At least this mom is aware of what is going on in her daughter's life and concerned enough about her safety to chaperone. Seems like this was her best option considering you can't keep your kids behind bars.

I hope you guys don't hate me for saying this, but maybe the mom was trying to teach her daughter (the hard way) that guys aren't always truthful. I know that a lot of girls will have this huge fantasy about their dream guy (ESPECIALLY teenage girls), and this girl may have had her head so far in the clouds that the only way to bring her down was show her, in person, that the guy was not serious. I just hope that was the mom's thinking. It would break my heart to think that the mom was this naive too.

Groupie 101, if the guy in the band isn't flying you out he's not into you. He wanted the girl, guess what for? Mom came along and killed the deal, he's not out a dime and probably will never give the girl another thought.

Guys in bands have hundreds of women throwing themselves at them a week. They don't have to deal with a parent or anyone else because in 5 minutes there is a replacement available. The guy is a jerk, but when she didn't get plan fare & hotel if she wasn't staying with him, she should have bowed out and made plans to see him when he came back to town and worked things another way.

Minor children, and mom's don't really work for band guys. Even tween ones. Their lawyers make all this very clear to the musicians.

this happened to my DD, only without the travel, and the guy wasn't a celebrity, just a high school 'tard she had a crush on. his "mean girl" girl friend set her up, and it broke her heart, even though i advised caution.

at least idiot mom didn't let her go alone. wonder if asshole singer would have shown and blown if mom hadn't been there? could have turned out so much worse!
