kathy, when you read EL talking about A-list, B-list, etc. there's little concern about artistic merit or the sympathy the guy inspires to EL. It's mostly about money and power, how much somebody can request and obtain for his or her job, even if being a celebrity is a positive factor. That's Hollywood for "respect".

I'd value Tarantino 100 times more than fauxteurs like Bay or Crapner but the fact is they are both in charge of budgets of $150-200m from any studio while Tarantino would get $50m from the Weinsteins for the whole Kill Bill thing. An insider would help Tarantino because he finds him hip or cool but he would help Bay because it could impact his carrier.

Besides, I guess that Tarantino is mostly a nerd with a few valuable friends, famous or not, not somebody inside the system with an entourage, sharing his information about his actresses fantasies. That's the opposite of what a Tarantino movie stands for.
