dammit, i KNOW i read on another site the reason behind this whole thing:
piven asked a couple of months ago to be let out of the play, and was refused. so, he cooked up this mercury poisoning scheme, and the producers have had him see another doctor (no report from them, due to privacy issues), but the producers want to sue him because he's been paid for his time so far.
i'm not wording that very well, and for the life of me, i don't know where i read that.

and it seems to me, you'd have to eat one helluva lot of sushi to get mercury poisoning. and i thought you didn't get rid of it once it was in your system.
also, i had what he describes, but with me it was altitude sickness. or pregnancy. or seizures. take your pick.

Eh, maybe my intense dislike for Marky Mark is clouding my judgement.. I just find him to be such a butt plug that this irked me. Mark Wahlberg started the whole ribbing thing last night... Piv was laughing saying he had the best boss (referring to Wahlberg) with Tiki (who was sort of politely dancing around the mercury thing without actually mentioning it) and suddenly Marky Mark said "I hope that mercury poisoning thing isn't contagious" and bam! it was on.. It seemed a tad malicious to my eyes. He seemed to want Piven to be embarrassed. .... I get that Pivert has dug himself into this hole but for his 'boss' to bring that up and then smirk and make faces while Piv tried to talk himself out of it was a little high school... It's true that Mercury poisoning can be really tough, a friend of mine was recently diagnosed with it. But he had been sick for months, and from what I understand, that it usually the case. You're ill for months, sometimes even years, and nobody can figure out what's wrong with you, until a doctor happens to put you through the right bloodwork.
My friend DID eat a lot of sushi and fish in general, but the poisoning came from the fillings in his teeth. He's having them removed and replaced, one at a time.
