Today's Blind Items
So I've been thinking of eyebrows a bunch this week and you will see why tomorrow. When I mentioned eyebrows at work yesterday, someone related this to me.
This A list actor was dating someone a few years ago. His girlfriend said that his eyebrows were overgrown and took him to a salon. He agreed to have his brows waxed. Well, our actor didn't like the result at all. So he shaved them completely off. The problem was that he was scheduled to start filming in two days. During the film in which he won an Academy Award, he sports the following looks:
1. Eyebrows colored in with magic marker.
2. Fake eyebrows in one color.
3. Fake eyebrows in a different color.
4. His barely there own eyebrows towards the end of filming.
Its got to be Jaime Foxx. He looks like he has no eyebrows in the stills.

Its either Russell Crowe or Adrien Brody. I'm leaning towards Adrien though.

ReplyDeleteEither way it's funny, I shaved mine off in 7th grade (can't remember why) and they took FOREVER to grow back...looked like a frickin alien...nice to know I'm not the only idiot out there.

Adrien Brody is A-List, just because he's not out pimping for the paps every day doesn't make him less.
ReplyDeleteBTW, Clooney's eyebrows are his trademark. i just don't see him shaving his brows. Maybe it is Crowe...before he got married. He looks like he wouldn't care at all. But maybe somebody like Jack Nicholson in As good as it gets? His eyebrows are usually bushy, he was dating Lara Flynn Boyle at the time, so maybe she tried to get him to wax them and he didn't like the outcome?

ReplyDeleteMy definition of A, B, or C Listers (movies):
A List: Their names appear *above* the title in a movie poster.
B List: Their names appear *below* the title in a movie poster.
C List: They appear in the movie.
My definition of above, but TV (slightly overlapping, especially with all those ensemble casts):
A List: If the cast is not listed alphabetically, their names come first. If cast names are in alpha order, in TV promos, they are the ones the TV announcer guy says stuff like "Kiefer Sutherland in 24". That, or the promos usually feature their scenes prominently.
B List: Appear after the "Also Starring" or "With" in the cast list before the program starts.
C List: May also appear in the "Also Starring"/"With", or is only mentioned in the end credits.
Finally, there are the *Celebrity* A, B, or C Listers who may not necessarily be in movies/TV. They may not act well (or act at all), or have ever received an award. They can be socialites (Paris Hilton), Miss America winners/losers (Tara Connor), sports figures (Michael Jordan), singers (Michael Jackson), politicians (Barack Obama), etc.
This is more a personal thing than the criteria for the TV/Movie Listers.
For me:
A List: Someone even I recognize.
B List: I recognize the face, but may not necessarily know their name. Or vice-versa: I recognize the name, but the face doesn't come to mind.
C List: Who?

ReplyDeletewith all due respect, roberto benigni won an oscar for a foreign film..and although you may not consider him a star in the US, he's still working in Europe (mainly italy)and is most def A list here...
i also think the fact that you know who he is, or remember him is quite significat - he obviously made an impression across the pond ;-)
YAWWN!! I didn't remember Roberto until I googled past oscar winners. Thanks anyway Lelli. BTW we all know who Kathy Griffin is...is she A List. I dunno how this A-List crud got spun out of control, but I really don't care. Everybody has their own Alist, its subjective. Appreciate the education of the "AList" for all of you who went out of ur way. :)

and strangely enough, last night a saw a commercial (several times) that claimes "eye-brows are back!".
good for me, but mother also shaved hers when she was young, and they never grew back. isn't it shame, ladies, that certain other parts keep growing back, no matter what we do??
