Of the 49 dogs found on property belonging to Michael Vick, only one needs to be put down. The remaining 48 dogs are suitable for adoption.
That was the finding by a team of dog behavioral experts assembled by the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals to test the dogs. According to a motion filed Monday in U.S. District Court, the dogs fall into five categories that include eventual adoption and specialized training for law enforcement work. Some of the dogs either exhibited fear toward people or suffered from a medical condition.
The one dog that needs to be put down couldn't even be examined because the examiners couldn't get close enough. They decided to call him Cujo.
The motion also requests that the court appoint a guardian to oversee the disposition and possible placement of the 48 remaining dogs.
So, if you would like one of the 48 remaining dogs, I suggest you write a letter to US District Judge Henry Hudson, the ASPCA, or the US Attorney all in Richmond, VA.

i find it interesting that they'll be able to get "close enough" to put the dog down.
This is going to make Old Yeller sound like a fairy tale.
i would like to right a letter to put mike vik down please.
its a shame that most wont get adopted because people will fear that they will snap one day because of the abuse
vivi- they'll tranqualize it with a dart. What's the point of examining an unconscious dog to be see if it's eligible for adoption or law enforcement?
whoever adopts these dogs should sue Vick for Canine Support payments.
Cesar Milan (The Dog Whisperer) could totally handle Cujo.
poor babies

topic - poor dogs
I hate to sound pessimistic, but we'll see if they're adopted or left to die...
It's time to see how many people really care about the treatment issue or if it's all talk.
Shalay, I was going to say the same thing - lets put Michael Vick down please! Useless waste of space.
But dont worry, im sure most of these dogs will be adopted if enough coverage is given. There are more people out there who care than you may think. I actually rescued two pitbulls myself who were treated horribly and desperately needed some love and care. One lives with me and one lives with my step father. One of them was quite anxious and nervous for a couple of years and didnt trust anyone who came into the house but now they are quite possibly the sweetest, most loving creatures in the world. Best thing I ever did.

hmm they totally should try the Dog Whisperer. That would be interesting. Usually he can fix all the dogs other trainers want to put down.
