Today's Blind Items With Another Mini- Kindness

#1 This 60 something B list for his entire film career was out to dinner two nights ago with a woman not related to him, (unless sharing tongues is accepted in their family) who was carded when she asked for a drink. As the waiter asked the question, the blood drained from our actor's face. He tried to stop her from showing her i.d, saying that she really didn't need a drink, but it was already out. 17, but the good news she was almost 18. July actually.

#2 This good looking B list film actor who is making an awful mistake if the recent stories of his love life are true is the subject of this mini kindness. A teacher was walking through the lobby of a building when he spotted our actor waiting for the elevator. The teacher is a high school teacher and he recognized the actor immediately. He approached him and said, "Hi, I'm a big fan of yours and I show your movie (fill in the blank) to my high school Government classes." The actor shook his hand and thanked him and then asked why he would show his students that movie. And this is where the teacher could tell our actor was a decent human being. The elevator opened up, actor looked at it, looked back at the teacher and said, "There will be another one. Tell me about your class." The teacher explained what the movie brought to his students and they spent another ten minutes talking with our actor saying he might have enjoyed his Government classes when he was in school, if only he'd had such a teacher.

    2. Josh Duhamel?

  2. Isn't Jack Nicholson 126 years old or somewhere around there? That's my guess anyway..

    ReplyDelete
  3. Anonymous2:07 PM

Jack Nicholson has to be A-list right? I mean - Jack B-list? I just don't see it. But other than that I would believe it.

    ReplyDelete
  4. Jack is also 71 years old. But it sure sounds like him.

    ReplyDelete
  5. #1 I like Jack, but I'm constantl getting hung-up on the A list, B list, C list "qualifications" so I'm thinking Jack is "A"? Mebby Joe Pesci?

#2 Ummm "B list actor who is making an awful mistake if the recent stories of his love life are true?" Keanu is the only one I can think of with any "recent" developments reported in the "love life." But Parker Posey doesn't strike me as an "awful mistake" I'm drawing a blank on this...

there is NOOOOOOOO WAAAAAAAAAAAAY Jack is " B list for his entire film career" - dude has how many Oscars? Besides, even just ONE Oscar = NOT "B list for his entire career". AND he's JACK NICHOLSON fer cryin' out loud.

Not saying he's not a perv and not capable of this, just that in this case there's NOOOOOOOOO WAY he fits. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  7. Anonymous2:16 PM

OH - and he's in his 70s, so again, not him.

    ReplyDelete
  8. Yeah, I don't think it's Jack but that's the name that popped into my head. This whole A,B, C thing confuses me too. James Woods sounds good.

    ReplyDelete
  9. ok so looking for:

    good looking b-lister,

    recently made relationship news

starred in a movie shown to government classes??

    ReplyDelete
  10. Leonardo DiCaprio - Gangs of New York

    ReplyDelete
  11. Owen Wilson for number 2? Re-kindling with Kate Hudson is no good. But what movie?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Orlando Bloom has been hooking up with Rumer Willis (yuck) so number 2 could be him

    ReplyDelete
  13. 1. I really like the James Woods guess
    2. Thinking...

    ReplyDelete
  14. #1. George Hamilton...was in Love at First Bite or some other vampire film and is always known for the perpetual tan--could both be what "blood drained from his face" means.

#2. Hmmm...if recent stories are true--so who's started dating someone/dumped someone within the last 2 months or so? Who's hooked up/broken up lately that we've all said, "oh, that's a bad idea" or "what the fuck was he thinking"?

No one's coming to mind...although I can't get Keanu Reeves out of my head. I think I'm just fixated from yesterday, that's such a weird couple.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Jude Law for 2?
He was in All The King's Men and there are rumers that he's back with Sadie which Ent didn't think was a good idea.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Ben Affleck -- Pearl Harbor?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Owen Wilson's movie: behind enemy lines

    ReplyDelete
  18. Oh oh oh.....you're right!! It's gotta be Owen Wilson--he did Armaggeddon, which would be a cool pseudo-political movie to show in a high school class....or there's "Behind Enemy Lines", which would also be pseudo-gov't related.

    Good call Cindy!!

    ReplyDelete
  19. 2- Clooney. He's making quite a few snoozers about politics and schtuff like that ,no? no clue i haven't watched his movie since Ocean's.
plus there is talk about him popping the question to the gf.

    ReplyDelete
  20. is owen wilson "good looking"? i would see ben affleck and jude law more fitting before owen

    ReplyDelete
  21. Holy crap - James Woods is already 61? I'm not sure he's known for going that young, but can't come up with anyone else either.

    ReplyDelete
  22. #2 is Aaron Eckhart. He was in Thank you for Smoking. Rumor has it he's dating Jennifer Aniston.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Yup, Jax, I'm thinking Clooney, too. Convo with the teacher is def something he'd do, and there are rumors of and engagement to Sara Larson - also agree this would be a bad idea, and I don't believe it for a second.
I like James Woods for #1.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Aaron Eckhart is dating Jennifer Aniston? Say it ain't so. I love Eckhart and while I'm not an Aniston hater, the girl's a mess.

    ReplyDelete
  25. "Holy crap - James Woods is already 61? I'm not sure he's known for going that young, but can't come up with anyone else either."

Yeah he is. He was dating a 19 year old not too long ago. I like him for #1, too.

Lainey's debunked the Eckhart/Aniston rumors a few times.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Clooney and Affleck are definetly A list. Look at the past kindness ENT describes Affleck as A and Clooney is being contacted by the UN?

I like the Aaron Eckhart guess too.

Ah, killing time at the laundrymat.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Clooney is a good guess except on what planet could he possibly be anything but A list?

    ReplyDelete
  28. didn't Eckhart just propose to his longtime gf a few weeks back?

    ReplyDelete
  29. Ginger, thanks for the heads up. YUCK! I've always thought James Woods was slimey.

    ReplyDelete
  30. on what planet is owen B list???

    ReplyDelete
  31. for #2, what about Ryan Phillippe? He was in Breach, and there are all those rumors about him and Abbie Cornish.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I thought Owen was B list, too. What is he?

    ReplyDelete
  33. http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,331251,00.html

apologies for it being fox news, but sometimes they have good gossip!

    ReplyDelete
  34. From the Fox news blurb:

"While filming the upcoming romantic comedy "Travelling" in Vancouver, Canada, Aniston and Eckhart have been "inseparable," according to the UK.'s Daily Mail."

Yeah, that's because other than Jax, there's nobody else they would know to hang out with in Vancouver.

    ReplyDelete
  35. I was thinking Burt Reynolds for #1, although James Woods is an excellent guess. Lots of good guesses for #2; I'm leaning towards Owen Wilson though.

    ReplyDelete
  36. 60+ guy and a 17 year old girl.......eeeeeeeeeeeewwwllllllll!

    oh hell no!

#2 Paul Walker, Fast & the Furious 4. (kidding, kidding)

    ReplyDelete
  37. #1-- Bruce Willis is 60-ish right?

    ReplyDelete
  38. lol@ twist.
like i'd hang out with that whiner.

ya Lainey has said its all BS and she would know being in the thick of it here. she has a lot more sources than just moi.

    ReplyDelete
  39. For #2, I immediately thought of Kevin Costner (movie= JFK), but I haven't heard anything about his love life recently... maybe someone else has?

    ReplyDelete
  40. #1 best guess going is james woods.

#2 don't know - not feeling owen wilson but at a loss as to who it could be.

    ReplyDelete
  41. my first thought of "B list for his entire career" was James Caan.

i don't even know if he's single or what, just my first thought.

as far as #2, i was thinking Affleck is definitely making mistakes in his relationship, and is just the kind of actor that EVERYONE would know by name.

    there are better guesses probably.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Owen Wilson would be a great guess, except there is nothing remotely governmenty or politicy on his resume. A government teacher is going to show Armageddon? For what? I've been up and down Owen's list - nothing there.

How about Dylan McDermott? He just left his fabulous wife, and he has a couple of important government films on his CV.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Costner married that blonde woman a few years ago.At a red carpet event, Joan Rivers famously remarked to their faces that the engagement ring was small and cheap-looking.

    ReplyDelete
  44. except fro the B list part i was checking out Brad Coopers resume as well. he is rumored to be dating Jen Aniston, not Eckhart.and we all know how EL feels about the Aniston.

not much on there movie wise for a gov. class though.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Bruce Willlis did Lindsay Lohan, don't forget...

    ReplyDelete
  46. Poor Jennifer Aniston never seems to get hooked up with anybody but who's she's starring in a movie with. Thought the whole Vince Vaughn "relationship" was just a P.R. ploy for the movie, and I'm thinking the same thing about she and Aaron Eckhart. Anyway, I hope he'd have better sense.

And also, #2 says "and then asked why he would show his students that movie," so I'm thinking it's not an obvious choice for a government class. Could be anybody. Hope it's a reveal in July.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Ryan Gosling for number two. The United States of Leland. And I think he's a decent human being. But I can't figure out if he's making lovelife mistakes...aside from breaking up with Rachel...and that was ages ago.

    ReplyDelete
  48. My first thought for movie was "Election", though I'm not sure Matthew Broderick was B List for his entire career. He was a pretty dang hot property back in the 80s. It sort of makes sense that it would be shown in government class in high school: there are teenage elements, but of the PG-13 variety which some parents may find objectionable, and it doesn't directly deal with government per se but maybe the shady side of elections. But I can see MB being the nice type of guy, so dunno.

    ReplyDelete
  49. 1. michael caine - blame it on rio! lol!

    ReplyDelete
  50. I agree with mazemerizing. It sounds like the actor couldn't make the connection as to why that particular movie was being shown in a Goverment class. Therefore since the movie won't be obvious I don't think anyone can be ruled out based on their resume.

    ReplyDelete
  51. I think some things can be ruled out. For example, Happy Gilmour, Bring It On 2, and Harold the Duck. Those can probably be ruled out.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Would it be a big mistake for Owen to get back together with Kate? Is she bad news or something?

    ReplyDelete
  53. #2
    Antz -Danny Glover

    ReplyDelete
  54. 1. J. Woods. He likes them eleventeen and under.

    2. Nic Cage for "National Treasure". This is a recent film that might get kids of today interested in "government". Isn't he cheating on his mailorder bride?

    ReplyDelete
  55. Nic Cage would be a really good answer except he doesn't fall under good looking--he resembles a basset hound with bad hair extensions.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I like James Woods for #1.

#2 I will throw at Kevin Kline and the movie "Dave"

    ReplyDelete
  57. lol@Adrian! Classic.

    ReplyDelete
  58. I just realized I forgot the "recent awful mistake" part of the equation. Damn.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Number One: Alan Rickman

    ReplyDelete
  60. For #1, Throwing Jon Voight out for your consideration. He's always got that "niece" or "goddaughter" around him that people gossip about. Plus, the "sharing tongues in their family" reminds me of his kids kissing at the oscars.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous9:12 PM

    Love James Woods for #1

First thought on #2 was Clooney and Syriana, but Clooney is definitely A list.

I'm trying to work this backwards - what movies from the past decade would you teach to high school government class students?

    Schindler's List?
    Gangs of New York?
    Thirteen Days
    American History X
    Election

    I can't think of anything . .

    Except War Games LOLOLOL

    ReplyDelete
  62. #1. Sarah has to be right: Alan Rickman (of "Love Actually")

Does the "not related" part mean they have the same last name? Or just that she looked young enough to be his daughter?

    ReplyDelete
  63. I also like Gosling for #2....He also did Fracture which was awesome!! He played a prosecutor who was offered a high paying job for a well known firm but he turned it down to work for the people!!! Who else saw this???????

    ReplyDelete
  64. #1 James Woods.

#2 Josh Duhamel (TV actor trying to make it in films), engaged to Fergie (need I say more about a mistake being made in his love life), the movie Transformers. Transformers, a sci-fi thriller about a war on Earth between Robotic Clans (and rated PG, acceptable for high school viewing) is not a film you would think of seeing in a high school gov class (hence even the actor's surprise), but when it came out the US Miltary praised it as being "the only movie that got it right" in regards to how the US government operates its military sector.

    ReplyDelete
  65. James woods is in a relationship. he's definitely been a list at one time. affleck maybe?

    ReplyDelete
  66. affleck for two, I meant. And again, Kevin Kline isn't b list, nor is he making awful mistakes in his personal life. Do people even read the clues?

    ReplyDelete
  67. I took "July actually" as a clue, did some research.

The movie 'Born on the Fourth of July' starred Tom Berenger and he is very close to 60 years of age.

So I am going with him, Tom Berenger.

    ReplyDelete
  68. Anonymous6:43 AM

Um, honest - Born on the Fourth of July did indeed star a Tom - but it was Tom Cruise not Tom Berenger.
I like James Woods for #1 - he is known to like them young and I thought he had just recently broke up with his hot young thing (after his brother's funeral or something?) And I don't know why but I'm thinking an actor on the younger side for #2.

    ReplyDelete
  69. I'm with the Owen Wilson guess - bad mistake is Kate Hudson again - movie is Rushmore which he didn't act in, but did co write.

    ReplyDelete
  70. 1. James Woods is too obvious. I like the Tom Berenger guess. Or, going with Love Actually as a clue, what about Bill Nighy?

    2. Bradley Cooper.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Ryan Gosling is a good guess except I don't know what current relationship mistakes he's making. In the movie Half Nelson he played a history teacher.
    http://www.spiritualityandpractice.com/films/films.php?id=15316

    ReplyDelete
  72. LOL And for #1 - I'm too lazy to look up his age, but what about John Voight? He's on the red carpet lots with really young "relatives" a lot lately - and there was that whole Angie/James kiss maybe with tongue deal after the Oscars.

    ReplyDelete
  73. I don't think #1 is James Woods, because there's no way he'd be embarrassed about her age. He dates teenagers all the time. Maybe they aren't usually under 18, but I can't see him being fazed by the question.

    ReplyDelete
  74. For #2 I thought of Jared Leto for Requiem for a Dream, but I don't think he's B list (maybe B- or C). His love life mistake would be making out with Paris Hilton during Sundance. I like the Transformers guess, though.

    ReplyDelete
  75. This comment has been removed by the author.

    ReplyDelete
  76. Ryan Gosling. There's apparently a rumor out there that he's dating Hayden Panettiere.

    http://www.flisted.com/10450/milo-who/

In Half Nelson he plays a history teacher who talks a great deal about the Civil Rights movement - interesting topics for a Government class, but not necessarily an obvious movie to show to high school kids, because of its other dark themes (like Gosling's character's addictions).

And I could totally see Ryan stopping to talk rather than escaping on the first elevator out of there.

    ReplyDelete
  77. well, i'm guessing the movie in question is something that wouldn't be an obvious pick for a gov. class. either that, or it's chalk full of violence, sex, etc. because it seemed to genuinely surprise and intrigue the actor in question.

i'm going with mateo, and guessing the movie might be something weird like Reign of Fire or summat. that's the dragon one, right?

    mmmmm, christian bale.....

    ReplyDelete
  78. oh yeah, mateo's horrible mistake is marrying his gold digging baby's mama.

    ReplyDelete
  79. I like the John Voigt guess. I can definately see this.

And I like the Aaron Eckhart guess as well for #2. I can see showing Thank You for Not Smoking to a high school govt. class.

    ReplyDelete
  80. I vote Djimon Hounsou for #2-the movie is Amistad and he is rumored to be dating Kimora Lee Simmons-ACK!

    ReplyDelete
  81. jack nicholson, three-time academy award winning best actor, "B list for his entire film career"? i don't think so.

    ReplyDelete
  82. besides, jack wouldn't have cared if his date got carded. lol.

    ReplyDelete
  83. "Owen Wilson for number 2? Re-kindling with Kate Hudson is no good. But what movie?"

oooh, good guess. maybe "darjeeling ltd"?

    ReplyDelete
  84. "on what planet is owen B list???"

the one that's run by the academy of motion picture arts & sciences? clooney X nominations = A list, owen - nominations = B list.

    ReplyDelete
  85. i don't think the film mentioned in the second blind is an obvious choice to have shown a government class, because, if it was, why would the actor have stopped to ask the teacher why he'd shown it to his class? so ... yeah, the "transformers" guess may sound out there, but i think it fits the wording of the blind better than the lists of movies that actually make sense. lol.

now i'm wondering if I'M making sense. *snort*

    ReplyDelete
  86. Hmm...but as I was saying, it might not just be about whether the movie is related to Government; it could also be about whether it's generally considered right to show to kids.

    ReplyDelete
  87. does the drink thing not make sense to anyone else? If she asked for a drink and they asked for her id, why would she give it to them if she was 17?

when I was 17 and trying to order booze (I'm a lush, what can I say), I would only ever give them
    a) a fake id
    or
    b) tell them I left my wallet at home/in the car/etc

    I don't know...seems kinda sketchy to me

    ReplyDelete
  88. Anonymous8:48 AM

on #1 the "not related" thing is probably there to point out that he couldn't order her a drink be/c he's not her father (or grandfather in this case).

I'm sticking with James Woods only be/c it's not awkward for him to be out with the younger ones (he likes that) but it is awkward when they make it clear the young girls drink when they are with him.

Notoriety wouldn't stop a cradlerobber, but LIABILITY might.

    ReplyDelete
  89. Jon Voight for 1

    George Clooney for 2

    ReplyDelete
  90. And for #2, as soon as Owen Wilson was thrown out, I thought of "Rushmore", too!

Owen Wilson was also thrown out of his prestigious private school in Dallas, so it's clear that he didn't like school all that much.

I don't think Rushmore is an OBVIOUS movie for classes, but it is about teens and school, and could work in a curriculum some how.

    ReplyDelete
  91. What teenager would pull out their real ID when trying to buy drinks?

    ReplyDelete
  92. regarding ryan and hayden - they actually know each other. they were both in "remember the titans." saw the gossip rumours and don't know exactly where but read shortly after about their prior connections. suspect halo is still strong.

    ReplyDelete
  93. #1 is totally james woods and as far as his last 19 year-old gf is concerned, he was a long-time friend of her family, which means that he knew her as a little girl and then started banging her. ewwwwww.

#2 george clooney -- i took the 'why would you show that?' comment to be a jokey, faux-humble thing -- just the kind of comment clooney would make, no?

slightly off-topic, what is it exactly that affleck is doing right now? keep reading bits and pieces about him and garner on the rocks, but is there more dirt? and is the word that she's not so sweet (in fact a bitch) true?

    ReplyDelete
  94. What about that guy that was in Thank you for Smoking? Wasnt there recently press about he and Maniston dating? I think he is is the Dark Night as well. The smoking movie would be a big hit in a classroom!

    ReplyDelete
  95. It has to be JON VOIGHT w/ the god-daugher Skylar or something (she was in the Bratz movie)

and the kissing in the family is definitely a clue to this AJ and her bro
