Today's Blind Items - Idiot Drug User Awards
I have been hanging onto the first of these for awhile because I just knew in my heart of hearts that there would be another idiot and then I could have my dream of posting Idiot Drug Users. No, it isn't as good as Will It Float?, but, it isn't bad.
#1 - Our first award today goes to this former B list television actor who was on a very hit show and since then has pretty much done jack crap. Oh, he still has just about A list name recognition, but he is dropping to C list as far as roles. So, as I said this first one was a few months ago. Our actor was with a woman at lunch. Outside on a patio, reaching into his little baggie every couple of minutes, and also sharing with his lady friend. Just passing the bag back and forth across the table. Outside. On a patio next to a public sidewalk. Finish lunch and management comps the check. Our actor doesn't have any cash for a tip and his girlfriend has like $5. So, our actor leaves the $5 and the remaining coke as a tip for the waitress. Leaves it right out on the table. Points to it and says something to the effect. There's your tip. Have a great night tonight.
#2 - Our second award goes to another actor. This actor is C list. 95% films. B+ name recognition just because it is kind of an odd name and from some roles he did ten years ago or so. He even has some music connections that are cool, but not known at all as a singer. Also known as a guy who thinks he is better than he actually is, and that women should throw themselves at him. Well our actor has a little meth problem. He doesn't snort it anymore, just smokes it. So, at a club the other night, our actor wanted to spend some time enjoying his favorite hobby. Problem was his lighter was out. So, instead of just asking someone to borrow their lighter and being done with it, our actor went out to the indoor/outdoor smoking area and went up to each person and asked for a light and asked if they wanted to share his meth. He asked males, females, and then he asked the bouncers. They asked him to repeat what he said, and he did and then showed it to them. They then asked him to leave.

And the winner/loser is..............
Sad.
#1. matthew perry
1- def matthew perry
2- no clue
2. Crispin Glover
Sadly, I think you're totally bang on with the Matthew Perry guesses.
2....jared Leto/douche nozzle!!
Not really sure who either of these are, but I find it hard to believe #1 could be Matthew Perry.
He's a millionaire many times over. Remember when the cast of Friends stood together and fought to be paid the same ($1 million per episode?).
And like moosefan said, sad. Really sad.
I dunno.
#1 screamed Jesse Metcalfe to me...
#2 no idea
Hey, at least #1 was concerned about leaving a tip, props to him. :)
Plus wouldn't Matthew Perry have been an A-list television actor, that would rule him out of this one.
I dont think the blind refers to him being broke, just not having any cash on hand.agree with the others sounds like perry to me. whats the last work hes even done?
jared leto is a GREAT guess for #2 except the blind says the subject is "not known at all as a asinger".
i agree he's MORE known as adouchebag, but unfortunately also for his pathetic warbling too.
1) Matthew Perry, def.
2) Jared Leto (of 30 Seconds to Mars or some such rot)
Not Jared Leto? The "not known as a singer" may be the tip, although I'd disagree with the "C-list actor with B+ list name recognition":
Keanu Reeves, onetime bassist for Dogstar?
what about jason swartzman (spelling??) for 2?
he's been in quite a few movies, like darjeeling limited and rushmore.
he also was in the band phantom planet, who did the theme song for the OC.
i hope i'm wrong though.. i've always liked him.
just saw random photos and there is perry wasting away like carson...
just saw random photos and there is perry wasting away like carson...
1. Grant Show
2. Crispin Hellion Glover (released a wacked-out CD a few years ago)
what about jaquin phoneix for 2?
it screams perry but what about wilmer for one?
1- David Schwimmer
2- Crispin
I'm sorry, there's no way that Joaquin Phoenix could be considered a C list actor.
I like the Matthew Perry guess a lot. I know that his problem years ago was pills, but no reason why he couldn't have dabbled in coke as well. My first guess was Wilmer Valderamma, but there's no way he could be considered a B list actor.
#2 Keanu Reeves?
Jumping on the Matthew Perry train - he was the very first one to come to mind. Although whomever said he was more A list TV than B is right...damn it...lol
No clue for #2, could be anyone.
#2 doesn't sound like keanu. he's closer to a list (ent posted something about how an actor with a franchise is automatically A list). plus the last matrix movie was only 5 years ago. i like the crispin glover guess.
I was thinking a Perry....but LUKE, not Matthew, for number one.
First thought of Crispin Glover, but he doesn't strike me as the 'where are my bitches' type. LOVE the Keanu Reeves guess, totally fits.
jared leto isn't an odd name, so we can let that go kids. *comes to the leto defense*
i'd be mad as hell if i was the waitress that got that 'tip' in #1
2. LL Kool J. just throwing it out there.
Hi, been lurking forever. Anyway, how about Christian Slater for #2? He started in musicals when he was a kid.
I guess I'm the ony one wondering what she did with it
#2-Tom Sizemore
Well, we used to get it a lot as a tip cocktailing just out of college in the late 80's.
We did it. Then bought more with the cash tips.
We were brilliant!
1. Tim Allen?
2. Colin Farrell?
Kevin Bacon for #2? The odd name stuck out for me.
..but I think that Ent might have mentioned the actor being married.
agree w/ matthew perry for #1.
Vin Diesel came to mind for #2. No clue on the music angle, though.
1. Matthew Perry
2. Val Kilmer?
#2 Skeet Ulrich looks a little meth-y to me.
#1 Matthew Perry
#2 Devon Sawa.
Oops, I forgot: Devon Sawa's "music connection that is cool" = Dr. Dre was actually such a huge fan of his that he personally cast Sawa as "Stan" in the Eminem video for the same-named song
Also in regards to the last role that Matthew Perry did question, he's in Seventeen Again - which as we know all the tweens will see because of Zac Efron and was offered a pilot (no idea which one, but turned it down) so he's definitely being offered stuff.
Jason schwartzman released a cd (this year I think) and he was the singer. I think he's better than a C actor and the fact that he's a Coppola definitely allows him to carefully pick indie movies, and he's carved his own niche. I don't think he's #2
I agree with Dave. At least they made an effort to leave a tip...
Morgen- if you did get a tip like this and you didn't want it, just do what we always did and ask the dishwashers if they wanted it...
what about billy crudup? almost famous came out in 2000.
No way on Matthew Perry. All of the Friends cast were once A list TV stars and you can add other very successful TV actors like Tim Allen and Kelsey Grammer into that former A list group too. Plus, Matthew Perry had a good role on Studio 60.
Brian Austin Green came to mind for #1. He's been photographed eating on patios quite a few times with his girlfriend.
I was thinking Cillian Murphy for #2. He looks like he would do something like that. Sorry, no way was Matthew Perry ever B List. Nope. Definitely A, as all 6 FRIENDS were.
Jesse Metcalfe sounds good to m.
Wilmer Valderamma is in the photos too. He is definitely B list on a very hit show, but has since done Jack Crap.
#2 - Viggo Mortensen, used to be married to Exene Cervenka.
i dont know if anyone has said this, but how about Simon Rex for #2; especially with his recent "rapping" with mickey avalon
#2 - Billy Bob Thornton
Odd name - check
Slingblade released in 1996, with a subsequenet flurry of choice roles for a few years, gradually dwindling to his current C+ status (Bad News Bears, ugh)
From IMDB - "Billy Bob began his artistic career as a musician, playing drums and singing in a band called Tres Hombres, which once opened for 'Hank Williams Jr' . In 1981, he moved to Los Angeles with childhood friend Tom Epperson to pursue an acting and writing career. On the side, Billy Bob also sought work as a singer and drummer."
I agree no way Matthew Perry. All the Friends were A-List TV stars for 9 years....(season 2-10)
I immediately thought of Matthew Perry for #1. Hope I'm wrong, but there it is.
i'm going with Jesse Metcalfe for number 1. And MacAulay Culkin for number 2 (music connection is that he's godfather to Michael Jackson's kids. TADA
I agree with Dorienne. My first thought was Billy Bob Thorton for #2.
Problem is, A list TV could be easily seen as B list actor. TV is usually seen as "below" film (I tend to think it's bollocks, but that's how it seems to work). Plus, there were definitely times when he was overshadowed by the other cast members. So Matthew Perry still fits perfectly for me. He would have the money to sustain an ongoing coke habit from Friends, has a past with addiction, and has been living under the shadow of the show since forever. He's never been able to break into film.
Of course, I'm biased because literally right before I read the blind I saw those pictures of him and thought "Oh god, coke habit?"
I'm liking the Wilmer guess for #1.
He's a complete jackhole, first of all, used to date the Hohan, so he's most likely not a stranger to coke, and did I mention that he's a COMPLETE jackhole?
#2 - Giovanni Ribisi?? He is Beck's brother-in-law, and he looks all methy... AND he was on Friends, with Matthew Perry...
# 2 - Joshua Jackson from Dawson's Creek. It was a hit but he was never A List. Known to dabble quite a bit in the powder when he was on the show. Goes out with Diane Kruger but has not done anything big in quite some time.
Edit
#1 Joshua Jackson
Brian Austin Green.
Yeah, there's no way in Hell that Billy Bob Thornton is C list. He's A, all the way.
Simon Rex is a great guess for #2!
Josh Jackson has worked quite a bit since Dawson's finished 5 years ago. As has BAGreen since 90210. I don't think either has the name power that Luke Perry did so I'll go with him.
Umm...Joshua Jackson is about to star in 'Fletch Won'. I think that qualifies as something big.
No way it's Josh, he's in Fringe, which is the most talked about pilot of the Upfronts. So that would rule him out straight away.
