Your Turn - With Bea Arthur

So, this week, it is all up to you. Ideally what I would like to see is just stuff that you have seen this week that other people might not have seen. Of course your plugs, your products, your services. Whatever. Here is some PR stuff that I have been saving.

This one is from a few weeks ago and is really funny and was done in honor of Bea Arthur's birthday. Her top ten television moments. #10 will burn in your memory forever. Forever.

The PR people keep working me over to show this video from David Guetta.

And also Sleepercar. If any of you really love Sleepercar aand want to do a review, could probably get you in. They do seem to have a bunch of dates all over the US and Canada. In Vancouver tonight actually.

The number one vid for Bea is 'no longer available'. I hate when that happens!

so, I've mentioned up-and-comers Death is not a joyride. a couple of times before. Well, their new CD, The Human Zoo, is in stores now, and will be available throughout the Southwest by the end of June, which coincides their first ever tour (specs below). In the meantime, check out a couple of reviews that are starting to come in.

http://blog.soundcheckmagazine.com/2008/05/15/album-review-death-is-not-a-joyride/

And from the Austin Chronicle:

"Helmed by the Paper Chase's John Congleton, Death Is Not a Joyride's debut magnifies the Dresden Dolls' various anachronisms, violently jolting from burlesque pop to more classically minded compositions, while the three-part "Willie the Gorilla" sequences from eerie trip-hop to chamber post-rock before melting into industrial girth. Proceed with caution when encountering this menagerie."
-Austin Powell

Love,
dB

I am going to go ahead and plug myself, thinly veiled as plugging The Hives. I saw them last night. You can read about it here:
http://harriethellfire.blogspot.com
And check out The Hives here:
http://www.myspace.com/thehives

Of course, they're already getting quite big so maybe the need for plugging isn't that big.

If so, check out this other band from Sweden:

They'll be playing the North By Northeast festival in Toronto this year...if you like The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, you'll like this. In fact, their album was produced by the singer from TSOOL.

That's all.

Sleepercar sounds like a mix of The Verve and That song "I Promise" by When In Rome. It plays at the end of Napoleon Dynamite.

Thanks for the shout out Harriet! I think its a fun place to be and I welcome anyone and everyone to stop by and comment.

Too bad EL hasn't taken a look. He'd love me for posting a picture of Denise Richards next to a look alike tranny today.

Jax - Did you see Schuyler in the film called I'm Reed Fish? That's where I discovered her remarkable musical talent. It's a fairly slow-paced quiet film, but interesting nevertheless.
