I'm Tired Of Being Treated Like An Idiot

I can't stand it anymore. I know why the world has turned to blogs and websites rather than magazines for their gossip. Sure advertisers will still head for the magazines and pay the ridiculous rates even though they are pretty much worthless for anything. US Weekly has a headline today that says:

Brad Pitt & Jen Aniston To Have Run-In At Toronto Film Festival

So, when you read that it looks to me like they will be hanging out and sharing a spliff behind the CN Tower and then walking across the glass floor to see who falls first. See? I love you Toronto. Oh, speaking of Toronto and failed relationships, apparently Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling were hanging out together in Toronto yesterday, so...

OK, I got distracted. Anyway, US Magazine knows the reader will see the headline and will assume that Jen and Brad are going to see each other. I mean it is what the headline says right? There are no qualifiers to the sentence. It says they will have a run-in. It is what every man, woman, and child who reads the English language would believe when reading the headline. In this case though, I think US is actually trying to say that each star is going to run into the film festival and then run right back out.

I have seen so many websites and blogs talking about how they are going to run into each other and plans to keep them separated. First of all who gives a f**k? What do you think would happen if they would? Do you think they are going to beat each other in front of the media, or go get a room and bang one out for old times. No, they would probably smile and hug and move on. Then of course there would be months of analysis about the body language in the hugs, not taking into account the fact that Brad was probably holding his nose because Jen smells like a dirty wet ashtray.

Yes, they are both going to be at the festival, but their films are premiering two days apart. Do you think they are going to hang out at Starbucks for two days hoping to get a glimpse of each other? Please. And for magazines to say they are going to is a bunch of crap and an attempt to fool every person who reads them. US is lying here and they don't even care. They know how 99% of the world interprets the word run-in, and so they feed on that, and don't care if the other 1% pick up on it because they are probably reading The Economist anyway.

Brad looks like he wants to fart but is afraid something else will come out right along with that fart.

Anyway, I wish they would literally all run inTO eachother and explode already.

i don't get the economics of it unless there is alot more stupid people than i think.

Ha ha. Brad's totally about to shart! Good call, Rebecca.

That's all I really had to add. Apparently, you all care as much about this supposed run-in as I do.

If Kate Hudson could convince John Mayer to take a run at her, then we could read about how Jen and Owen are consoling each other because she's not over John and he's not over Kate. Then Jessica Simpson would somehow gets into the act and mess things up, so then Jen and Tony Romo would become a couple and Owen and Jess would become a couple, but then John would want Jen back and Kate would want Owen back, and oh, woe is us!

It's all so damn stooopid.

When I hear "run-in", esp. in this kind of context, it makes me thinks that a fight, perhaps physical, is brewing, or at the very least a lot of bitching back & forth. Now, admittedly that would be entertaining in this case in a twisted way, but EL is no doubt correct in saying that this particular scenario happening in front of the world's media is just not gonna happen. (BTW, it just occurred to me that the big reason Angelina hasn't made a public endorsement of a presidential candidate is because she knows that her endorsement could be potentially harmful to her pick, and doesn't want that to happen. (My humble guess is that she's an Obama mama, but is afraid she'll jinx him with the Minivan Majority if she speaks up--"If that slut likes him, I'm not voting for him!"--and so is keeping her mouth shut. Also, MNSHO is that celebs, like anyone, are perfectly within their rights to support candidates and work for them; but if anyone outside those circles is voting for Candidate X solely because Celeb Y likes them, even if they themselves are lukewarm or hostile, or the reverse situation of not supporting them because of Celeb Y even though they'd support Candidate X otherwise, well...frankly, you should take your name of the voting rolls right now, do not pass Go, do not collect $200, because you are two @#$!ing stupid to be allowed to vote.)

Oh, and in the event that Jen still isn't over Brad (she can't be THAT much of a limp dishrag, can she? surely she has more spirit than that...), my only comment to her is "Girl, get a freakin' LIFE, because you obviously don't have one now. Living well is the best revenge, so put down the blog and get going!"

End of rant... :-)

May Jen will. Maybe Jen.

The only way they will have a "run-in" is if Angelina wants it to happen. Otherwise, it's not going to.

wet dirty ashtray-lol Jen? or who

Brad smokes like a chimmney. lol

Anyone think Jen could be the wife in the blind for A list #3 of the 3dudes that were all A list and the first 2 made a bet that A list 1 could get her into bed, did, and then hubby would not do the sequel ..until studio execs got involved..Brad did not want to do OC13, he and george did not talk during that fight..that was El's Blind, he must hate Jennifer sor some reason.

Can we do a ban on Aniston? Honestly, girl's a bore and all of her publicity is pointless.

and more importantly.. I'd like to officially BOO the Gosling/McAdams reconciliation.. I always thought I'd have a shot with him..

*sigh*

Yeah, I'm so over Brad. I have been for a long time but this weekend I rented "Seven" to watch with someone who (imagine!!) had never seen it and forgot how truly beautiful he used to be...now he just looks like he's served several tours of duty on a deserted island with no sunscreen

And I'm kinda happy about the Rachel/Ryan thing. I like them both for some reason.

Not that my opinion matters for much...lol!

I never buy the gossip magazines. I always read the headlines while standing in line at the grocery just get in a good laugh but that's it.

Completely agree... I don't get all the hype about him and never did.

Seriously, I don't think for one moment that Aniston could give a shit about him any more.

But the gossip mags have to have something to lie about weekly. And Brangeloonie's will snap up anything that concerns Brad, Angie... even better if they are trashing Aniston. It is just some lame BS story to sell magazines.

Um, guys? Maybe we could all say nice things (or nothing at all) about JA? I don't care, but I fear the return of last week's rabid fan.

Last year Pitt flew out on Saturday afternoon (his screening was on Friday). Clooney did too. Probably the same deal again this year.

@ robin: what makes you think angie votes at all??

When i read that US headline my first thought is that someone is trying to be a psychic, and is sensing that jen and brad might "run in" to each other at the film fest.
And, if that happened, it would just blow my mind.
Think of all the drama! The excitement!!
But, seriously if i ran into my ex and the chick he left me for at an event i would whip dirty diapers at them (which for brangelina might actually be a fetish-thing) so hopefully jen can handle it in a more graceful way than i would.

ok, time for my nap!!

Meh - I'm tired of the celeb periodicals writing pre-revisionist history.

They should call John Titor if they're so interested in what happens next.

Bionic Bunny: I don't. I just threw that out as one possible reason why she's not gone public on endorsing a candidate. It's entirely possible that she really is totally clueless, or simply dealing with too much on the home front to really think about the issues; but she's never struck me as stupid--foolish at times, yes, but not stupid--and she's been around Hollywood & the media spin machine long enough to know how they both work, so it's quite possible that she's decided that looking clueless herself is better than possibly affecting a chosen candidate adversely--taking one for the team, as it were. Who knows? We certainly won't, unless she tells us...

As for the Brad photo: "gotta go, gotta go, gotta go right now..." Damn, I feel sorry for the poor bastard--whatever the problem was, you KNOW he wanted to be anywhere other than the red carpet at that exact moment in time!

Enty, nice try, but Angelina wrote an article for The Economist earlier this year. There is no escape.
