Uhm aren't tomboys, girls who dress like men and are butch?
Does it mean something else in the UK?
I was wondering the same thing.
Or is it just scandalous in UK to fancy girls that aren't total "wag"s?
a tomboy is a tomboy. it usually means a girl who likes sports and more boyish stuff, but it doesnt mean normally the girl is butch or lesbian. ie. Britney, Cameron Diaz and Jessica Biel...so Justin Timberlake.
i misread it as he couldn't keep from strapping one on a guest... sigh... brain tired.
That would have been more interesting anyway.
DN, much more interesting. And then it would make more sense - a girl pretending to be a boy. :)
I agree with Jax, JT
I considered myself a tomboy when I was a kid. Didn't turn out to be a lizzy. Just because you like playing boy games and not play with dolls never considered it wrong or bad. Just prefer playing boy games.
I think Enty was saying that the music star likes girls who looks like a guy.
"couldn't keep his eyes off a strapping guest"
So is this music star a gaybe in the making?
Butch girl wearing a strap-on? Am I the only one to read it like that?
So a semi-gay looking/acting male singer? That narrows it down *eyeroll*
wow...im done here.
This BI is so plain as day that there's REALLY no need to keep reading double-entendres into it.
Because of the unusual wording "on the night", I'm guessing it is a member of Dire Straits which is an English rock band (the Mirror being an English paper). On the Night is the name of one of their albums. However, I don't have a guess as to which member.

Why, Pick Withers, of course.
Is this the complete BI? It ends with ellipses, so it could have been part of another bit of goss about an event and ended "on the night in question".
Anyway, I kinda read this as the music star mistaking a fey looking guy for a tomboy. Anyone else do the same?
*sigh* Gavin Rossdale
