No Mile High Club And No Porn

With airlines charging a fee for everything nowadays, you would think they would get smart. Oh sure, charging to use the bathroom would be a smart one, but all the rest are just idiotic and don't do anything except to piss people off. I don't think any of you probably noticed but yesterday there was an announcement from the Association of Flight Attendants that they had convinced Delta and American Airlines to filter out porn from their in-flight wi-fi systems. Apparently the flight attendants who are to monitor all content being shown on laptops, didn't want to confront anyone watching porn.

Look, I don't want some 8 year old kid sitting next to a businessman who decides that the only way his food is going to taste better is if he eats while he watches Jenna Jameson eat if you get my drift. That's wrong. I agree that it should be filtered there. BUT, I think the airlines are missing out on a valuable fee generating business here. In the back of the plane, you have a little adults only section. Separate wi-fi with free porn, bartender, video poker, extra roomy bathroom in case you meet someone, and all for a fee of like $100 per person. The airlines would make a killing. If you make it look cool enough, people will pay. I would much rather pay $100 to do that, then pay $100 for them to just carry my bag which they are supposed to do in the first place. How the hell are you supposed to go anywhere without a bag? The purpose of an airline is to get you from point A to point B. Generally the least expensive tickets require you stay over at least one night. Umm, you want me to just wear sets of clothes for each day I am going to be gone? Just peel them off as I go, and shed them like skin. When I get down to my last wrinkled outfit it is time to go home.

i have a problem with anyone who has to watch porn every damn where. there is a time and place for everything.

i used to work in a library and those creeps would kill me with this shit. it was a university library and somehow it wasn't written in policy that porn in computer labs was banned.

Ew. I don't want to be on a plane with someone watching porn, even if it is in their own little section. And the airlines wouldn't make any money off the deal 'cause no flight attendant would work that section for less than a half million a year, unless they were a prostitute, and then that would raise a whole bunch of other problems.

Free speech should be practiced in your home, not in public. (Poor librarians!!!)

I am sooo with you on that one Enty, open up an Adult section in the back of a plane, I'd pay or even better, and I know I am going to get flack for this, how about a "no kids under 6" flight?

Nothing is more infuriating than you taking a long ass flight, finally falling asleep only t be woken up by the baby 4 rows up who decided now was the time to practice his/her wail, UGH!

Ugh Im with ya, QS. Seriously, why? People can have porn on their PSPs now, to take with them on the go. Do you REALLY need porn with you on the bus, when you're killing time at the dentist's office, etc? And seriously, doesn't all that porn get boring after awhile? The best porn I've ever seen is the stuff I come up with in my head. Watching porno after porno after porno does nothing but 1. made you disillusioned and bored with actual sex 2. chafe your dick 3. make you have unrealistic expectations for what a sexual encounter is supposed to be like 4. prolongs your little dream world where human contact and emotions have no value so long as theres a vaseline bottle and the newest GGW in the mailbox.

thank god for Westjet, no fuel surcharge and you can take 2 suitcases plus carry on.

maybe they should have counseling for porn addicts who can't go four hours without getting their fix in the back of the plane. at $200 an hour x the number of pervs on the plane they'll still make a profit.

Maybe they'll rent out Real Dolls as well? Like they do headphones? EWWWW, I grossed myself out!

maybe the blankets will be cleaner now.

(trying to outgross mooshki...lol)

i can see them getting rid of wofo to control the pron etc. but let me tell you i was damn pissed that they totally edited the SATC movie on my flight back from Barcelona.

I just can't help thinking about the pedophiles in the "adults-only" section who glimpse a toddler/baby a few rows up and then get horny enough to watch child porn. I don't know if child porn is legal in international air space. But just knowing a paying customer is getting off on certain types of pr0n/seeing kids on planes just sickens me.

Forspam, from my vast experience at watching Law & Order SVU, it's against international law.

um, I know way too many flight attendants for Ent's idea to be cool. Someone would have to clean up after that, because sure as hell people who pay an extra $100 for adult section are going to think that $100 means someone else will take care of the mess.

Flight attendants are essentially waiters/waitresses in an inescapable tube. No breaks unless they're on an 8+ hour flight. Keep in mind that almost all FA's have taken pay and benefit cuts in the last few years.

that would be American FA's only, Brit Air's FAs are the best paid and treated out there. there is a maintence crew for cleanup, FA's depart the place right after we all do for security reasons.
they are all freaks too! lol.
trust em , i'd be more worried about the Pilot checkin out some porn than "the adult pedophile" in the aisle seat.
come on thats just plain paranoia.
if it makes any of you feel better, they could always do a Christian section up front.
rows 12-24 are closer to god!

If you can't make it through a flight without watching pornography, then maybe you have a fairly big problem.

Porn's fine in the privacy of your own home, but that's where it should stay and there really isn't any logical reason why a person should feel they have the right to watch it when surrounded by other people who have paid their fare and just want to get to their destination. If you can't deal with it, you need to see a mental health professional. It's like no one has any sense anymore. What happened to manners and good taste?

this would have made a good "your turn".
i agree, if you need your porn that bad, there's a problem.
then again, there's been times i've been stuck for reading material, and there's been a really good interview in playboy i'd like to read, but being a straight female, i didn't dare!
funny though, i'm obsessively over-protective of my (now grown) kids, and was molested myself by an asshole uncle (a cop, of course), but never thought about pedos on airplanes. geez.

People who want porn on a flight that badly will just bring top-shelf magazines instead - can't filter those.
I've never seen anyone watching porn on their laptops on a plane, just kids playing games and business types working. It didn't occur to me that people would watch porn in public like that. I must be innocent!

Montanamarriott,
I'm with you on that. I know parents need to fly, too, but it's like there's a rule that every overnight flight has to have it's quota of screaming babies! I've never yet managed to sleep on a flight, because of this.
