Julia Louis-Dreyfus Is My Hero

Look who turned up on the cover of Shape Magazine this month. Yes, it's no other than Julia Louis-Dreyfus or at least her face, heavily airbrushed on the what I am guessing at one point was her body, but which now is the body of probably someone that even she doesn't recognize. It isn't that I don't believe Julia probably doesn't have a great body, it's just that I'm sick of seeing basically the same cover every month on Shape and of women who I'm guessing with near certainty don't look like that.

Every article is always the same about how they have to work hard to stay thin and always eat healthy except for one or two small vices. The vices is what brings us to why Julia is my hero. Her number one vice? The thing she cannot live without and must eat everyday? Bacon. "My biggest food vice is bacon. In fact, I don't keep bacon in my house – that would be way too tempting."

You have to love a woman who loves bacon so much she can't even keep it in the house. Of course what could also mean is that she wants us to think she loves bacon but in reality she doesn't eat anything fatty and forbids anyone from entering the house to eat anything fatty. I mean look at that body. Then take a look at mine and you will see what a true bacon lover's body is supposed to look like. I want to believe her and make her my bacon hero. Can't quite decide if I should believe her or if it is just something perpetuated by Shape.

she was always my favorite on Seinfeld, and even though I always crack up at her show, I never go out of my way to watch it. Don't know why.

I guess we should show up at her house with a bacon explosion and show our appreciation.

  4. She's 48 and has 2 kids, and has the body of a 20 year old. Yeah right. I hate that magazine, but I've always liked her anyway.

And for me, it's french fries. I have never met a fry I didn't like.

  5. I believe Faith Hill had that some bod as well.....

I'm sure Julia is in shape, just not that shape. That's serious workouts there and she's got a family in addition to work. Does she really have that kind of time?

Another case of the tabloids telling us what we are supposed to look like when in reality it is unattainable for the majority of us. Bastards!

  6. I believe that is her photo, and her body, but 2 pictures. The smile was obtain relaxed, and juxtaposed on the body where she is hilding her breath and sucking in,..

  7. Shape recently mentioned this in their last editorial - that there is no airbrusing involved whatsoever.

I do believe these ladies, ARE in great shape, but being in the publishing industry, I do know for a fact that every single photo that you see in magazines IS manipulated in some way.

  8. I think it's the same body every issue, they just change the heads.

I have alot of vices, but with food it's donuts. I'll eat 'em fresh, stale, flick off any hardened topping, and eat around a jelly center. Ya, it's bad. I've never been big on Krispy Kremes. We've got these locally owned donut shops ran by Asians and the donuts are huge, dense, thick icing and they leave grease spots on a napkin. Sheer heaven.

Obviously, I can't get within a city block of a damn donut.

  9. there was actually an episode of her show on a few weeks ago, & she was walking around in just a bra. She didn't look too bad, and I thought at the time it was great that she was comfortable doing that.

  10. I've seen her show where she's taken off her shirt... her body didn't look much different from this picture. She looked pretty good. I wouldn't be surprised if this picture is not airbrushed.

  12. She said she loved bacon. She didn't say she eats it. Yes its a vice but obviously one that can be controlled because she won't allow it in her house.

I know the feeling. I have my own that I think about all the time but refuse to purchase. My body can't afford to lose that kind of control.

  13. You all forget that Julia admitted to a tummy tuck and a boob lift after having three or four kids.

And it doesn't matter if she loves bacon -- she's obviously not eating it if it's not in the house.

  14. jax, you would not catch me walking around like that. I wish I could.

  15. Grace, that was Patricia Heaton who admitted to all that work.

  16. Yes Grace Julia only has two children.

  19. I have always thought she looks great on her show. Her face and body are really nice. I wouldn't be surprised if her body isn't photoshopped.

  20. i think mooshki should use her mad skilz and do a little photoshopping of her own...

i've never really been a fan, but she does look good on her show. not as good as that cover, but pretty good. hell, compared to me, WANDA looks hot on that show.

  23. she has been getting hotter over the years ... love her ... wish they hadn't dressed her in all those cheesy baggy early 90s (basically 80s)clothes during the whole Seinfeld run
