Which closeted — and married — actor almost had his cover blown when he hit on a straight man in a sauna? Word is the offended dude is now quite wealthy, thanks to a payoff.

The guesses are innumerable. :/
I don't know where to begin.
Could it be John Travolta (whom I love)
Gotta say Little Tommy.
I say John Travolta...in fact, wasn't there a rumor about this going around at one time?
The gym seems to be Travolta's favorite pick-up spot, so I'll go with JT. Although wasn't his cover blown a long time ago?
Travolta. He's notorious for the sauna pick-up trick.
A Toss up between Travolta and Gay Cruise hehehe.
I always imagined that Cruise has someone bring the men to him, I don't think he would risk being exposed. To think I once had such a crush on him LOL
Aren't these married gay blinds always about the same 3 or 4 guys? Cruise, Travolta, Smith and Jackman. You would think if you were as wealthy as these guys, you would have assistants to bring you the guys.
Careless millionaires
spreading the wealth.
YES!
Will Smith
I can't imagine Tom Cruise mingling with the little people in a public sauna.
There is no way to solve this. No list status and there's a ton of married actors. "Offended dude" made me think of "Dude Where's My Car," though.
Given that this is the NEW YORK Daily News and not the LOS ANGELES Daily News, it pays to look to actors living in NYC. I'm going with Huge Ackman, who has an apartment here and feels ashamed saying that he's not gay.
Being a straight guy and being offended by another mans advances is slightly insecure ( unless its just sexual harassment which is a whole different deal ) but capitalizing on someones fame and making money off of them is not cool. If the 'dude' said " my bad sir, by the look of you here in this gay bath house I assumed you were of the male/male persuasion .. may I offer you a check for 50K in compensation? " that would be cool but extortion is just bad juju
That's it--I'm heading to the baths!
:D
I think Travolta used to cruise the baths and gym saunas years ago, but I would think it would be impossible now for anyone A-list-ish to try to pick up there.
It doesn't specify film or TV actor and it doesn't specify New York...but let's say that those things are true.
We have: Matthew Broderick; Paul Rudd (highly unlikely but a boy can dream); Chris Meloni (ditto); Woody Allen...
Dude makes me think of the Big Lebowski...
Why would anyone pay off anyone for extortion like this. No reputable source would ever buy this person's story, even the Enquirer. Anyone can make up the story. If the actor was smart, he would have just said-yeah....whatever dude...who are they going to believe? A married prominent actor or some dude I just heppened to encounter in a sauna. Puleese!
I'm going with Tom Cruise
second guess would be Matthew Mcconaughey
It is Travolta. He did hit on someone in a Hollywood Hills Sauna.
it's got to be someone with a great deal of cash, since "the offended dude is now quite wealthy, thanks to a payoff."
I know Travolta has planes and a bunch of cash, but can he pay off in the 'quite wealthy' category?
Deffo sounds like John Revolting
Definitely Travolta.
It sounds like Travolta.
When the movie "Perfect" was in production, he hit on one of the guy dancers in the shower.
@ miss: offended could mean, as in "committed an offense" rather than "he offended the fellow" OR, quite simply, the fact that the dude was nekkid in a sauna with another guy. who knows what they were discussing before the pass was made? or how the pass was made? :)
i really don't personally know that many "enlightened" straight males, outside the industry. hell, my dad would never be IN a sauna, just in case this MIGHT happen, although, he's come a long way-lol!
I wish someone would buy my silence!
I'm with Caroline... Can a famous closeted married lesbian hit on me and make me wealthy to buy my silence. I'm going to hit the sauna's more often, LOL
Will Smith was my first thought
Tom Cruise. I know for a fact he hit on a guy in a German club until the bouncer had to tell him to back off.
Ice Angel - this makes sense if the actor has done this before and many people know about past indiscretions. When Johnny was filming Hairspray, he was banned from the Granite Club in Toronto (very chi chi place, trust me) for coming on too strong on a member (pardon the pun) and a massage therapist.
Married men are the worst for this sort of thing. Gay or not gay, the wife no longer puts out ... so they look to gays for support.
Matthew Broderick.
