Ben Widdicombe Blind Item

Which skinny NYC model busted on a night out with a bag of white powder in her purse, who claimed it was baking soda, was actually telling the truth? The bulimic girls believe that rinsing with it after vomiting neutralizes the effects of the stomach acid on their teeth.

  2. And also, a little bit funny. I don't mean to make light of eating disorders, but seriously? A model with a bag of white powder and it turns out to be BAKING SODA?

  4. Jax, because then they'd get muscle tone, and that's verboten in modeling. :(

  5. she should use it to wash her face...it's a great for exfoliating when teamed w/ your cleanser. also balances out the skin's ph level.

    oh wait, wrong board.

  7. Anyone know if she's doing more harm than good with that technique?

  8. Probably not, SK. Baking soda is good stuff. Makes a great cheap bath salt too.

  9. Selenakyle, you're right. As the daughter of a dentist, my dad told me how he could always tell a bulimic or a bad drunk who was frequently vomiting by how worn off the enamel was. He also said that a lot of them make the mistake of brushing their teeth right after throwing up numerous times, which only worsens the effect of the stomach acid on the teeth. He said the least harmful thing to for teeth would be to rinse with water right after and wait a few hours to brush teeth (not that I am trying to encourage bulimia in any way).

And as a guess for the blind, Chanel Iman?

  13. This is a tragedy in the making. Please out this girl so maybe, someone will help her before it's too late.

  14. Tragic - Baking soda (if that's the US equivalent of Bicarbonate of Soda) is also good for getting rid of that smell when your dog has rolled in a mud bath that includes fox pooh and stinks to highest heaven. Just leave him outside, sprinkle it liberally in the fur, give it a good rub-in and then brush out!

ONLY works with bicarb for your pet. (tomato ketchup apparently also works, but that's just too messy)

Just though I'd share that too.
