Kate Gosselin Learns Why You Should Wait

Kate Gosselin has learned a very important lesson which has been passed down through the generations by politicians and cheating spouses. Don't admit anything before you know what the other side has. I'm sure at some point Kate learned of the US Weekly article that came out today and imagined it said all kinds of things about she was having sex with her bodyguard. Why does she need a bodyguard anyway? Whatever. It turns out the US Weekly story implied some things, but it was nothing outrageous or earth shattering. They basically said she is friendly with the bodyguard and he doesn't always wear his wedding ring. Oh, and that Jon sleeps over the garage. Oh, and that he has been seeing that Deanna Hummel woman for a long time and going out of town with her. Oh. One of the time he went out of town with Deanna and her girlfriend to Utah, Kate was also out of town. So, no one was home with the kids except professionals and maybe a TLC crew. Nice.

But, Kate didn't know it was going to be so tame and probably thought she was being smart when she gave an interview and cover story to People trying to answer many of the allegations she thought were coming but which didn't. So, instead of a one day news cycle that would have gone away, she is on the cover of People quoted as saying the couple might split up and that things have been bad for months. She also has known about Deanna for several months. Those comments she made to Jon when he got caught were probably about him being more careful like she is with the bodyguard.

"You can't imagine yourself in a certain position when all this first happens, but you can do it over some months. It's a lot like when I was first pregnant with the babies, and it was pure shock and denial. But over time I imagined six cribs in my house, and six car seats. When your mind is ready to go there, you can accept any number of scenarios."

Yeah, I would say this show is history. Maybe they will turn it into some type of Brady Bunch show. That would be tough though because of Deanna's sex tape. Also, do viewers want to watch them divorced? I think TLC will pull the plug on this show if they split up and find some other family to follow.

  1. TLC already has back ups. We are inundated with multiple birth shows. Gaaaa. Make it stop!

  2. And is that her body guard in the background? Yummy. I'd hit it.

  3. And OctoMom has TLC on speed dial.

  4. yeah... promising them that if given the chance, SHE wont do her bodyguard.

  5. No one will want to watch a show about a young family knowing that all is not happy happy. It didn't work with the Sonny and Cher show after the divorce and it won't work now.

I did just find out that the family is only filmed 3 or 4 days a week and that Jon and Kate get to approve what goes into the show.

I think TLC might do a few wrap up specials and quietly pull the plug.

  6. Shoot them both in the head (or, if you oppose that, just maroon them in Antarctica) and give the poor kids to families that will actually, you know, raise them.

  7. I think the marriage has been for the show and money for a long time. Now people have caught on, they're going to suck the last bit of publicity they can(while reaping the $$) because they know TLC will pull the plug.

  8. Hey, there's some reality show in Hollywood casting for actual couples going through a divorce. $20k to allow them to broadcast your marriage falling apart. That'll pay for a tummy tuck or two. Get 'em on the phone, Kate!

  9. I think they'll have to get jobs like the rest of us, and support their family on their own. I'll bet Kate's wishing she hadn't dissed her sister-in-law Jodie. She's going to be needing Jodie's and the rest of her family's help in the future, when TLC money dries up. From experience, I know that two kids is expensive. I can't imagine what 8 would cost!

I think their hearts were probably in the right place when they first started with the Gosselin specials, but the money clearly has clouded their vision and badly impaired their judgement. It's so sad.

  10. Isn't there already a replacement show table for 12 or something? And about a gazillion others with families that have too many kids... TLC might keep them going for awhile just for the crazy ratings (hell, even I wanna watch this show now), but being a wholesome family station they'll probably wanna stick to Toddlers and Tiaras and all that high-quality stuff. ;)

  11. To add-it's been revealed they're living separate lives just now-and have been for a while. So do you think that if they hadn't gotten busted for cheating, they would've really stopped doing this show? It's a reality show that's gone on for far too long, imposing on the lives of two troubled parents and eight of their elementary school-aged children. Kinda sick.

  12. palealebrew10 is correct. It is kinda sick. It's hard enough to go through family problems without tv cameras, but this involves eight children. They need to quietly attend to the needs of the family instead of duking it out on People magazine.

  13. If you have actually watched the show, you would have seen that they have hated each other's guts from the get-go.

  14. Of course, I feel sorry for those kids.

Off-topic: Jon's asian genes are like superhumanly strong. Jon himself is half-asian, his kids are 1/4 asian, but the kids all look 100% asian. I'm just sayin'.

  15. way to shoot yourself in the foot, kate. i was actually rooting for the family to make it too- love their show!

really tho, they should take poker lessons.

  16. I want TLC to have a show about a woman with 12 kids who is struggling, and failing, to raise them herself, who's fat, angry, poor, working several shit jobs. I.e., the REALITY of having a ridiculous number of kids.

  17. What figgy wrote but with this additon: Try someone who's not Caucasion. Jon Gosselin at 1/2 Asian is about as ethnic as TLC gets!

For a new show, I'd suggest the Ukranians and their 9 kids who live across from me, but despite being on HUD and the language barrier, they're Caucasion.

  18. She wore the pants in the family from the very beginning. You could see on Jon's face that he was backed into a corner. He agreed to having more kids (or maybe was coerced) and then imagine the shock when the ultrasound showed 6 fetuses. He probably thought that the shows were the only way to take care of eight kids. And then to see it all spin out of control, to watch his wife become a 6-headed monster, well, I actually feel sorry for him. I believe he truly loves those kids. As for Kate, she's going to wake up one day and have absolutely nothing. Karma's a bitch.

  19. I don't blame Kate for her strong ways; Jon is weak and she was the one who had to pull everyone up by the bootstraps to get anything done.

  20. i'd think they're pretty set from the show, but hell, i don't know how much they've been paid. kate's a registered nurse so she can work if she has to. i've never known exactly what jon does.
take away the show, and it's just another couple that didn't make it. however you feel about them, i do feel bad for those kids.

Aw hell, she's my hero! Any mom with 8 kids who still has enough energy to have an affair....respect! Seriously though, who has that much energy????

  23. Yes, TLC.
    Pull the plug!
And pray there are some ironclad
trustfunds for those unfortunate test tube spawns

  24. Brendalove, you are so right LOL!

  25. Well, since I broke down and posted about Pusbag Hilton, I may as well get on the Kate Train too.
I confess, I watch their show. There, I said it. At first it was for the "Wow! This chick has 8 kids and is keeping it together!"
now, its more of the train wreck effect, I see how awful they have both become, and I can't look away.
I feel bad for the kids, though. I volunteer to take custody of 2, at the most. Photo-ops included ; )

  26. Now her brother and sister-in-law have a video talking about it on Radar Online and an interview with Star. Maybe Kate knew that was coming out and that's why she decided to be proactive?

  27. So now I understand who these people are and what channel they are on.
Last time I watched anything on TLC it was a gory, sickening liposuction surgery and I'm glad I swore off the channel all together!

  28. I saw an old eppy where she went to Connecticut to get a tummy tuck and stayed for two days. (Don't blame her for getting the tummy tuck.) She came back, and the reunion with her babies was soo touching. She said "I'll never leave them again."

    HAH!!!!!
