Trudie Styler Isn't Really That Green
When you make a name for yourself traveling around the world talking about environmental and other green issues, people want to know that you are making the same efforts as they are. It appears Trudie Styler talks the talk but doesn't walk the walk. According to the NY Post, on Saturday night, Trudie went to the Correspondent's dinner in Washington DC. She was coming from New York to attend.
She and seven others, including her stylist took a private plane from New York down to Washington and then she sent her stylist back home on a commercial flight after she had made Trudie look presentable. OK. So, the Post called her out on the whole private jet thing and how it conflicts with her being this huge environmentalist and she said, "Yes, I do take planes. My life is to travel and my life is also to speak out about the horrors of an environment that is being abused at the hands of oil companies."
That is the only excuse she gave. It is a pretty lousy excuse. I'm not sure why she couldn't suffer a 45 minute commercial flight. I doubt anyone would recognize her. There are several flights per hour and so scheduling is not an issue. I'm guessing she wouldn't feel as important without private. Also, train travel in the US sucks, but between New York and Washington there are lots and lots of trains that are very quick and energy efficient.
I understand there are times she may need to take private jets. This wasn't one of those times. I just think that in this case there were lots of more environmentally friendly alternatives and she chose instead to focus on her comfort and self-importance and looking like a big shot than taking care of the environment. So, she basically did what the oil companies do. Congratulations Trudie.
imo, you forgot the most important part of the story.
ReplyDeleteThe rocker and his wife are big proponents of saving the rainforests. But as The Post reported last year, Sting's star-studded charity concert for the Rainforest Foundation in 2006 donated only 41 percent of the proceeds to tree-saving programs. Well-run charities typically spend 75 percent on programs.
hmmmm...where did it all go?
On the tightly plastic surgeried face???
ReplyDeletelol
MM- lol
ReplyDeleteDoes she buy carbon offsets?
ReplyDeleteNot the best choice, but it does give the illusion of being a "practicing" environmentalist.
Two words:
ReplyDelete1) Acela
2) Greyhound
I always felt she and Sting were weird people.
ReplyDeletemeh. as much as i love sting as an artist, i've never bought into the humanitarian act he and trudie have milked.
ReplyDeleteIs it just me, or does anyone else think Enty's theme today is "That bitch is a famewhoring fraud"?
ReplyDeleteJust sayin'.
Like all wealthy people, she's entitled to a larger carbon footprint in order to tell us insignificants to conserve.
ReplyDeleteEff her and her gross armpit boobs.
LOL, KellyLynn!!
ReplyDeleteWhat Elsie said!
ReplyDeletetotally agree with you! There are 1000 flights/trains a day from NY to DC.
ReplyDeleteIts like celebrities who support human rights/economic equality but then snort the cocaine and shoot up the heroin giving all the cartels, Taliban, etc. power. Imagine what would happen if there was no demand for these drugs, and no one fighting over the trade?
Another example of the "I'm a celebrity - do as I say, not as I do" mentality.
ReplyDeleteI think all these people who are so much better than the rest of us should live in the real world for awhile. Maybe fighting traffic during morning rush, trying to eat breakfast in the car 'cuz the alarm didn't go off, hoping to God your boss doesn't notice that you are late, would knock a little reality into them.
Very disappointing.
ReplyDeleteMaybe for her next trip, she can take her plane down to visit fellow environmentalist Al Gore in his oversize, energy-guzzling home.
ReplyDeleteReally, I don't think anyone needs a private plane except people like Barack Obama, people whose safety is essential to society at large.
One of the most serious factors threatening the Earth is overpopulation. Sting and Trudy have six children, don't they?
That is what she looks like AFTER the stylist?
ReplyDeleteShe could have flown first class and bought the seats around her if she was concerned about privacy. But like enty said, most people would probably not recognize her. I don't think I would. I would walk past her in first class on my way to the shitty bulk wall seat in the back thinking "oh. some rich lady".
ReplyDeleteIt's not always easy being environmentally friendly, but if you are rich, you have NO excuse.
CREEPY CREEPY WOMAN...
ReplyDeleteScrew all the stars and their "I am Environment saver" shit.
ReplyDeleteEverybody knows that planes are the WORST for the ozone- I mean really- the number of flights a day times the rate the ozone is eroding...do the math peoples! The mucky mucks would never think of stopping their never ending ride on the high life.
"THEY" will never say out loud they know the planes are bad- never ever ever will they.
IF we all stopped flying- it may make a difference- but I really don't see that happening. I've done my part- in the last 6 yrs I flown twice.
Eco bitches that use alarming amount of packeged products= arrogant asshole.
LOL Lutefisk!
ReplyDeleteAlso on the topic of raising money for saving the rainforest: Years ago a reporter asked Sting exactly what programs were being funded with the money and whether or not they were effective at saving trees. Sting had no idea, but stated how much money he had raised.
ReplyDeleteHaaaaaa, whole_lotta-luv, you cracked me UP!
ReplyDeletegross armpit boobs.
funny as hell.
Nutty_flavor: I want to point out that overpopulation is a total lie. There IS no population problem. Big governments want you to THINK that there is because it is in THEIR best interests. Smaller populations make it easier for tyrannical governments to control the people. Prince Philip once said he wished that when he died he could come back as a deadly virus that would kill billions of people - yes, he really said it - look it up. Ever fly over the US? Look at all the uninhabited land! All of these fake environmental organizations push people off their land and consolidate them into cities - they do it so they can have control of the land, not to "save the environment". Living in a city will create the illusion that there's overpopulation. If governments stopped using the lie of "protecting the environment" to kick people off land, there would be no overpopulation issue. Global Warming or Climate Change is NOT the real issue. The REAL issue is genetically modified foods, pollution of our water with pharma drugs and industrial waste by companies like GE and the pharma companies, and tyrannical governments trying to dismantle the Bill of Rights are what the REAL problems are. You won't hear about GMO foods being the most grave threat to humanity on the mainstream news because Monsanto is an extremely wealthy world conglomerate. Most people aren't even aware that the mainstream news is owned by only a handful of huge corporations like GE, Disney and Westinghouse. Do you think you are going to get unbiased news from a source owned by a private corporation who will take increased profits over human life any day. People must read independent news sources on the web to get the REAL story.
ReplyDeleteHoly hell.
ReplyDeleteBwuh?
ReplyDeleteWhy does this not surprise me in the least. Trudie doesn't look like the type who would deign to fly commercial. From the look of her, she just kinda screams "Spoiled Princess." I mean .. just imagine what happens when Sting says no to her .. I see dishes flying.
ReplyDeleteSorry what does Trudie think her private jet runs on, cooking oil? Don't they put gas in those things? Don't those evil oil companies have a little something to do with gas and its availability?
ReplyDeleteI hate this cow. Every time she opens her yap she seems more insufferable than the last time. No wonder she and Madonna are so chummy.
