Jarret Stoll Comes Up With New Way To Cancel A Wedding

Don't recognize the name Jarret Stoll? He is the guy who was engaged to Rachel Hunter. I say was, because just seven weeks before the couple were supposed to get married, Jarret called the whole thing off. Sounds sad, but not unprecedented. What was a new move though was that Jarret never came out and told Rachel why he was canceling it. The way she found out the wedding was cancelled was when someone showed her an e-mail that Jarret sent out to all their invited wedding guests stating it was cancelled.

See, this is the part that is confusing to me. The couple lived together in a house they bought together. So, what, were they living together and he just said, ""I'll be right to bed honey, just give me a few more minutes on the computer." Five minutes later the e-mail was sent and the wedding was cancelled?

See, someone on Rachel's side is telling the tale to make her look good. She might be the good one in all of this, but it seems obvious they weren't living together and so Jarret sent out an e-mail saying they weren't getting married. That to me seems like a pretty natural thing to do if you have been living together and one of you moves out. Chances are you aren't going to keep that wedding scheduled. Although, if you have paid for the reception already, then it is perfectly acceptable to have a party, and you know, maybe you can find someone new at what was supposed to be your reception. Yeah, that sounds like a guy move doesn't it? Hitting on women at what was supposed to be your wedding reception. Smooth.

  2. Nice. I was engaged to a guy who decided to break up with me by telling me he didn't have his new phone number yet and never calling. I mean, he didn't even break up - just kind of drifted away and we were ENGAGED to be married 6 months later. WHEW. So glad that wimpiness was found out before rather than later.

Anyway, the loser called me 6 weeks later drunk and crying. I had 6 weeks to get over my shock and hurt and be really, really pissed.

Oops - sorry for the long post. I know this isn't the Friday confessional.

  4. I have been engaged three times.

Never made it down the isle. The last one was to the son of a Kuwaiti diplomat that pretty much defied his whole family to be with me and 3 days before the wedding I chickened out, called his brother to come pick up his stuff and never spoke to him again. Yes, I am such a jerk.. but sometimes when you are really pressured into marriage ( not to say Jarret was by Rachel I wouldn't know ) you go along out of feeling obligated because its the 'natural' next step and back out because you are being true to yourself.

who knows what happened with these two but I know one thing...Jarret is freaking GORGEOUS! wow.. I would reconsider my confirmed bachlorette hood for that one :)

  5. Ms Cool - I know this is cliche, but: you are SO better off without the jerk. Seriously, did he think you wouldn't notice if he just stopped calling?

  6. @MsCool-wow, i couldn't even imagine. I've been broken up with via a tearful phone call, but at least I actually got one AND I wasn't engaged. He is an a**hole that you are better off without.

  7. The guy is what, maybe 28 years old? He is waaay too immature for a woman with Rachel's life experience. She would be bored with him in a year.

  8. Thanks for the comments - I am so over that guy. I was way too young and just thankful that I didn't marry the wrong guy for me. I waited a bit and found the perfect mate. He is greatest husband to me and my best friend. Plus he is cute and an awesome father. I had my share of losers and even one who died so I know how to be grateful for what I have. Every day.

tell your daughters, yes, it IS perfectly okay to give the ring back and break it off!
