Jeffrey Donovan Busted For DUI

Jeffrey Donovan is the star of one of my favorite shows on television. I love Burn Notice. Last week in Miami Jeffrey had a little issue with the police. Well, not really a little issue. He got busted by the cops for suspicion of DUI. It's amazing what being in Miami Beach will do for the delay in anyone finding out you were busted. Jeffrey was actually arrested last Sunday, July 12th and no one even knew until today.

According to TMZ, the police pulled him over last week, kept him for a few hours and then let him go. There is no word on if he was in an accident or what his blood alcohol level was alleged to be when he got pulled over.

  1. This makes me sad, because I love this show. Let's find out the details before we decide to tear him apart, ok?

  6. Very cool show. Like the rest of you, I'm waiting for more info. I'm glad to hear from all the Burn Notice fans out there. Shows I like are usually cancelled quickly.

  7. This sucks. :( Can someone call up Bruce Campbell and ask him to slap some sense into Jeffrey? On the other hand, maybe it should be Gabrielle Anwar - these days she looks like she could easily take Bruce & Jeffrey down all by her tiny little self.

  8. MICHAEL WESTEN?? I am in shock. Really, OK not. But I see we have a lot of Burn Notice fans. You would think he had some little spy trick to get him outta there.

Oh, and I play every little Burn Notice game on the USA website...

Lord, my daughter's watching Degrassi. UGH. Help me Jesus.

  9. Well said, empryios. Responsibility goes for everyone though, regardless of what's in their bank account.

  10. Oh please no! I love that show, it's our favorite - we look forward to every Thursday night after the kids are in bed to watch it. We love the whole cast and the dynamics between them. Jeffrey, please say you're sorry, say you made a bad judgment call, apologize, mean it and pull yourself together. I don't want this show to get canceled or self implode because of this.

  11. You're right Karmen. It should go for everyone.

If you can afford to get blasted, you can afford a taxi.

  12. I love that show too.

I'm going to wait to hear what happens on this one. The first criminal case I ever worked on (and won) was a DUII on Miami Beach. Then again, his eyes do look a little bloodshot in this picture.

That's the problem with money and the sense of entitlement it gives you. He doesn't have to follow the rules, he's a celebrity!

  15. i'm sorry, why are we saving judgment for someone busted for a DUI? what excuse is acceptable??

  16. Are you people serious? He should get the same trash talking treatment that any other celeb gets in this case. I mean look at his eyes!! He looks drunk off his ass.

  17. LOVE, LOVE BURN NOTICE.......
THANT SAID MIAMI IS NOT A GOOD PLACE TO DRIVE DRUNK, MY BEST FRIEND SPENT THE NIGHT IN JAIL AND LOST HIS LICENSE.

  18. ^as he should.

the MIA is a party city. they actually should be tougher on all the drunk driving. (donte stallworth, anyone?).

  19. I can't help it, I instantly got a voice over image of him saying

"The key to distracting a cop, while your girlfriend is robbing a bank across the street, is a simple matter of weaving down the road in a drunken manner and convincing them to take you in. Cops would much rather deal with a drunk than a potential burgler. This makes it easier for your friend in the clown suit to take photos of the russian mob boss talking to the former CIA drug lords, while your mom serves them margaritas and lights thier cigarettes.....etc etc...."

  20. GREAT SHOW.. is he married!?!?!? LOL Anyway, doesn't say he got a DUI.. just picked up on suspicion and let go... hhmmm inneresting.. Can I keep him?

  21. I just meant reserve judgment until we know if he failed a test. They can take you in on anything. If he blew a zero, they still might arrest him pending a urine drug test.

As for the red eyes, mine get like that on sunny days or after swimming, not when I have been drinking.
    Just sayin.

  22. I like him as an actor even before Burn Notice. Anyone remember Touching Evil? Prob. not it got canceled early on.

DUI is about the stupidest thing you can ever do. If you can't call a cab,a friend, etc DON'T get behinde the damn wheel. Heck he's making money call a damn limo.

  23. ardleigh- yes, I remember Touching Evil- he was so good in it- he was also EXCELLENT in Changeling, scary, super-intense, but amazing...this is sad- I'm glad no one was hurt.

  24. LOL at BigMama's voice over. . .

There was a rumor on IMDB that he is dating his co-star Moon Bloodgood.

  25. Noooo! I love that show! He looks messed up in that photo.

  26. it does say "busted". busted implies arrested. i'm sure they use a breathalyzer in miami. also, he may have said, "you got me, i'm wasted".
my idiot son got a dui a few years ago, he admitted he was drunk, he spent the night in the drunk tank, lost his license, totaled his car (nobody else was involved, thank god), and learned a solid lesson.
now, i love my son more than any old actor, but man, he deserved it. he was stupid, he was due, and he was damn lucky things didn't turn out worse. and he'll be the first to admit it now.
so maybe that's why it was quiet.
basically, i'm saying i agree with jax and terrance.

  27. I love love love Burn Notice and have adored Jeffrey since he played the younger brother on the Pretender (geeky, I know). Sadly, I have heard a lot of rumors about him being a total ass to fans and being very difficult to work with. Usually, those kinds of rumors don't leak out if they are totally false. However, since I love him and the show, I have given him a pass. Just another round in my cognitive dissonance.
And yes, what the hell is up with celebrities and dui's? It's not like they can't afford a limo to drive them everywhere.
