Ryan Ross Cocaine Story Is Very Weak - Tries To Protect Elizabeth Berg And Vanessa Corbala

I have seen a couple of stories today about former Panic At The Disco guitarist Ryan Ross' explanation for the cocaine sitting on the table right in front of him and his explanation sucks. I will get to that in a minute, but Ryan did manage to snooker MTV into thinking the women with him were just friends and no one of consequence. I believe that one of the women in the picture is Elizabeth "Zee" Berg who is in The Like which is a band here in LA and one of the other women in the picture is Vanessa Corbala who is in The Whispertown 2000 which is also an LA band.

Anyway, the picture has been floating around the internet for about a week, but until yesterday no one had heard from Ryan Ross and his explanation for the picture. MTV spoke with him and this is what he said.

"I planned the whole thing!" he laughed. "No, [the photo was taken] a couple of weeks ago — I do remember, believe it or not. I'm not gonna tell you whose house it was at, but yeah, there was a party the night before, and I slept on the couch, and we took a picture. I didn't even really know [the cocaine] was there."

Uh huh. When is the last time everyone went to a party and just happened to leave a few lines of coke untouched so they could sleep? Yeah. That is not really going to work.

As for how the picture ended up on the internet?

"Oh, I definitely [know them] — it's my friend Zee and a couple of her friends. And actually, they're all older than me," he laughed. "I think one of the girls put the picture on her Facebook, and was like, 'Oh my God, I didn't even know it was on the table,' and then I don't know what happened. But I think they got in more trouble than I did."

  1. Ha, ha. BUSTED.

Y'know what? In the same situation I would probably try to lie about it, too. (Although my lie would have been way better)

Hell, I did my share of messed up stuff when I was a kid, and I didn't have to explain any of it to MTV.

  6. Is there coke in this pic here? What--on the book? I can't see anything as dark as the photo is.

Get thee behind me, Satan! Hell, I've been so long without it that I just get off on seeing pix of it, to be brutally honest.

Growing up sucks sometimes...but I suppose we've all gotta do it.

  7. Gyahh! Duh. Now I see it.

Damn, I AM getting old. Used to be I could spot that sh*t a mile away! So maybe I am recovered after all!

Ahhh, those were the days. Young, dumb and full of cum. Not a care in the world nor property, reputation or livelihood to lose if one got busted.

    Good for them.

  10. @ Selena - I zeroed in on it right away. Habits die hard. ;)

Oh Ryan. You big fat liar. I think a better strategy would have been to say "yeah, I saw it there, but I didn't have any". All Bill Clinton-style. To say you didn't know it was there when obviously other people would have been using is just ridiculous.

As Panic! is managed by Pete Wentz, I'm guessing they got the shit from Ashlee.

  11. Haha! Oh sorry, I didn't know you knew Ashlee personally. I happen to be a big fan of FOB and Pete Wentz (though Stump is my fave) but I don't approve of Wentz's wife.

I was making a JOKE and I think that was fairly obvious, but you're in serious denial if you think that Ashlee is drug-free.

  12. Rock Star Uses Drugs! Film at 11!

Also, water is wet. Sky is often blue. Sugar is sweet.

Just kidding, I realize this story is mainly being reported because of the really bad lie. I'm mainly mocking those who are up in arms about how coke on a table near a beloved artist certainly means they are going to become some sort of fuckup. News flash -- not only do plenty of successful people do drugs, most of them get by just fine without your hysterics, and it's the drug war, not the drugs, that causes the most harm.

  13. Nope. That shit on the table - the booze and coke - is just way too staged to have this just be an "Ooops! I had no idea!!" picture.

  14. jb...is that you Pimpa Joe? lol.

this same thing JUST happend to a 'friend' on facebook. she has a pic of her in her flat front cotton khakis and polo tee looking oh so socccer mom worthy on the couch with a big sunny grin on her face.

  15. Dude. Fail. RocketQueen had it right. Acknowledge it's there, but deny using it. I've been in the room when coke was there, and I didn't touch it. It's rare to do that, but it happens.

  16. A friend on Facebook had a picture up for about two minutes a while back of a ladybutt with a credit card in the crack and a line of something white in the small of the back. I thought it was a fabulous picture but he deleted it for some reason.

  17. Question though. Who would leave a few lines of coke untouched for a picture? No one just LEAVES coke, so maybe it isn't even coke at all?

  18. Hello cynical arseholes
    1) Ryan made it. You didn't.
    2) If he does coke, it's his choice not yours so mind your own fucking business.
    3) He said that he had stayed over at a friends house, supposing that was true he might have been to drunk to drive home would he really have seen the coke?
Besides even if he wasn't drunk it may have been to dark for him to see it.
Just leave him be and enjoy the music he's made. It really is none of your fucking business, you're not his girlfriend, mother, father, brother, sister, friend (mostly friend) aunt, cousin, uncle or any other person who is close to him. You're just the fans and that's probably all you'll ever be.
