Brad Pitt Tries To Take Back What He Said About Tom Cruise
At some point over the weekend Tom Cruise's lifts must have got into a twist because Brad Pitt's spokesperson has tried to get the word out that Brad Pitt didn't really call Valkyrie "ridiculous." Unfortunately though he isn't having much luck and pretty much everyone knows brad Pitt said what he said.
Stern Magazine isn't exactly In Touch or Life&Style and I am fairly confident they got the quote right. How can you tell they got it right? Look at the statement from Brad's rep. He called the quote "inaccurate," and then went on to say that Brad Pitt had never even seen Valkyrie. A couple of things here. If Stern had got the quote wrong there would have been a much stronger response than this. This is nothing. I'm guessing the quote was something like"very ridiculous," and Stern only reported "ridiculous," and so therefore it is inaccurate. As for not seeing the movie, perhaps someone named Angelina saw it and said it was ridiculous. Maybe Jennifer Aniston saw it and in one of her thousands of daily texts to Brad told him it was ridiculous. Maybe while Brad was giving the massage to the maid she said, "Mmmmm. That feels good. By the way, Valkyrie is ridiculous."
I am afraid that is all Tom is going to get from Brad on this. Word of advice to Tom. Stop making ridiculous films. Go make Mission Impossible IV.
yada yada yada. not a huge fan of either guy.
ReplyDeleteis pitt's latest film any good.
Southerner,
ReplyDeleteI've not seen it, but I know a few folks who have and all of them say they loved it, the hardest to please of the bunch actually called it 'awesome'. I was really surprised by all the positive feedback. Not a 'ridiculous' in the bunch.
it's Tarantino, come on. of course its fucking amazing.
ReplyDeleteMy daughter say Valkerie and grudgingly said it was good, alot of other people said the same. My actress sister even said it was good and she is a very harsh critic. I may not like Tom but he is a good actor. Brad Pitt however, unless it is some sort of comedy, is boring and two dimensional. To me that is.
ReplyDeleteI heard Pitt's movie is great. Still, I will wait for the dvd. Not a Pitt fan.
ReplyDeleteWait, you have to apologize for truth speaking???
ReplyDeleteIt WAS ridiculous. Where's the drama?
So, My sister, her husband and I watched the downloaded version of Inglorious Basterds. Turns out with was the Russian version, and all the subtitles were in Russian. Since half the movie is in French or German, we were so confused. We decided to find the script online. While we were watching the parts that were in French or German, we'd read along with the script.
ReplyDeleteNow, I haven't read any movie scripts, but I have read play scripts. After reading this script, we came to two conclusions:
1. Tarantino is nuts. Absolutely nuts. I can't explain it, unless you see an interview with him or read the script for yourself.
2. Tarantino has awful grammar. He doesn't understand the difference between "your" and "you're" or "than" and "then". When your job is writing scripts, you should know the difference.
All in all, I'm glad Brad Pitt retracted his statement, because I can tell you one thing for sure: Inglorious Basterds is not the end all be all WWII movie that he made it out to be. It was good, but not as good as people make it out to be. Pulp Fiction and Kill Bill Vol. 1 are way better. If you're not a Brad Pitt fan, don't worry. He's not in the movie as much as the trailers make it out to be.
I've heard it's a good movie but won't take a chance of seeing it at the theater. Brad has a way of putting me to sleep unless it's a comedy so I'll wait until I can see it for free.
ReplyDeleteHowever I really liked him in Burn After Reading. I think comedy is Brad's forte.
Y'know, from the start I thought there was something weird about his supposedly having said this. I call bullshit.
ReplyDeleteThey're both good actors, I'll still pick Inglourious over Valkyrie any day. Also, non-Scientology over Scientology.
Wow Karmen, that's a lot of trouble to go to! Wouldn't it have been easier to just go to a nice, air-conditioned theatre? LOL.
ReplyDeleteBTW, it would have driven me absolutely nuts to have to read Tarantino's bad grammer for that long. I wouldn't have made it through!
I'm sorry but I thought Valkyrie was an awesome film....and it did pretty well for coming out in the holiday when usually family films are like the top of the box office.
ReplyDeleteSeconding Quintessential Southerner's take .. not a fan of either guy.
ReplyDeleteThank you for the laugh,Enty! I had a lousy day and you cheered me up. I can just see Tommy in full tantrum: laying on the floor and kicking the heels on his lifts into the carpet.
ReplyDeleteditto ardleigh, enty!
ReplyDeleteand bigtime LOLs for: "Stop making ridiculous films." teehee!
Valkerie based on a true story albeit not a happy ending.
ReplyDeleteTom C. really stuck his neck out on it playing it not so safe.
Rented it. liked it, not worth a repeat viewing.
I'll do the same when Brad's comes out(3 months?)so I don't
want to judge but Brad and Quentin sure seem very full of themselves about how much everyone's going to love it.
I don't think that I could get through a whole movie of Brad Pitt's horrible accent. I can't stand when the trailer comes on tv. Nails on a chalkboard.
ReplyDeleteSaw Basterds ths weekend. Most of it is in German & French with a little English thrown in. It is subtitled (which they don't tell you about) and is a signature Tarantino film: Bloody & Gory. The ending totally re-writes history.
ReplyDeleteBrad Pitt is not in most of the film. Seems like the 'starring' role went to the German Jew Hunter.
Two words for Brad Pitt: NO CLOSE-UPS.
BP isn't the greatest of actors, but I have to admit that he plays a great crazy person. In 12 Monkeys he was AMAZING and I liked his acting in Kalifornia, too. Other than that, he's just a pretty boy who got lucky.
ReplyDeleteI don't really consider TC's acting Oscar worthy, either, but he's definitely better than BP. I really liked him in The Last Samurai and he surprised the hell out of me with his wonderful Lestat.
