Wow...Amadeus was the bomb.
Oh, the Amadeus curse.
Sad.
Who? Did he win the part?
didn't know who that was until I went to imdb... he played Amadeus.
That sucks. Times really are tough, huh?
He was also nominated for an Oscar for "Amadeus." Sad.
had to look him up on the internet...
And the Winner is....

Tom Hulce? (Amadeus)
Good Job SkittleKitty!
I've often wondered what happened to him. Why did he fall? He was a really promising talent back then.
Amy- I agree. I remember his crazy laugh. I am trying to think of what movies he's been in since then that I have seen.
It looks like he did a lot of broadway, but who knows...typecast maybe?
Aw! I had a huge crush on him in the Amadeus days. That's so sad!
He also played the screw-up son in 'Parenthood', but since then...?
Oh him! That sucks..I loved him in amadeus and hinchback of notre dame
He was Larry in "Animal House" too. This is sad.
I've been reading Enty for the past year and I LOVE this site!!! I've enjoyed everyone's comments so much over the year I've decided to hop on board. Happy New Year, everyone!
He was also in Parenthood. Remember, he was the skeevey brother.
I really liked him as an actor and wondered why he didn't ever get more parts.
Hopefully he can turn it around, because he is quite talented.
this is a sad one, he was a good actor back in the day.
hey, good job skittlekitty!!!
I won't pretend.
I have no idea who that is. Or Amadeus either--did not watch it.
:(
i remember when he was the next big thing. i never got it. apparently nobody else did either.
sorry, tom.
You know, maybe this story is true, but you shouldn't feel too sorry for him. He's a very successful Broadway producer who produced Spring Awakening (which was a HUGE hit). Check out his bio: http://www.springawakening.com/creative_team.php
A lot of actors do commercials or cameo parts just to get back on screen because they either like to work or want to remind people they're still out there if they've been working in a less visible part of the business.
Go Skittle Kitty! This one is sad; he seemed like a talented guy. I hope his luck gets better in 2010.
He was also great in "Dominick and Eugene." Very good film if you've never seen it.
Thanks, Liz! I'm glad to know he's found success in his field. He is truly talented!
It's Cool's dad from Parenthood! I love that movie; it's a guilty pleasure of mine.
Agree with Liz - Hulce is a successful mostly on stage. Not sure why this is blind at all...
maybe he had to do it for an acting credit so he can keep his SAG benefits. I checked his imdb and his acting credits are pretty spotty after the 90's.
I loved him in Animal House too!
Yes, he was involved in the production of the very successful, Tony award winning Broadway musical "Spring Awakening". He is also now involved with "American Idiot the Musical" which will hopefully be transferring to Broadway this year. Loved him as an actor. Still love him as a producer.
Kathy I agree "Dominick and Eugene" is a wonderful movie. I think it got overshadowd by Rain Man.
IMO Dominick and Eugene blew Rain Man out of the water.
I love him in Amadeus. This is so very sad. Happy New Year, Enty - You really make my year. Thanks.
Was sad until I read Liz's remark. thanks, Liz!
Love Tom Hulce!!!!!
Yes, I was a bit depressed for him too until I read Liz's also.
Glad I could clear that up. I met him while I was working as an assistant in New York and he was so nice. He's very well respected in the theatre community and there are lots of reasons why an older actor might audition for a commercial. I don't think this was as tragic as the blind item let on.
He was wonderful in Dominic and Eugene with Ray Liotta, a true unfortunate plastic surgery victim. New about the Broadway stuff. Hoping it is paying the freight for him.
By the way, New Year's Eve in Copabana, Rio de Janeiro, Brasil was awesome last night and this morning. I even got to kiss a hot man from Sao Paulo, full on very kissable lips.
Happy New Year Enty! You are the best!
Love Tom Hulce!
He also played Quasimodo in the Disney version of the Hunchback of Notre Dame with Demi Moore as Esmerelda.
Can ya tell that I have kids? :-)
thank you, liz, i was bummed out there for a minute!
and, hey, commercials are big money, folks!
