LOST Discussion
So, last night I watched LOST again. Unlike last week this time I could keep up, but almost didn't want to. Did it seem incredibly slow and boring to anyone else? I appreciate all the talking and trying to get some explanations, but there was so little action that I found myself actually surfing during commercials which is something I rarely do during the episode. Next week does look great though.

ReplyDeleteYes, I actually hated this ep and was facebooking out of boredom. I am still pissed they killed Juliet instead of Kate though. She annoys me, Jack annoys me, claire annoys me, new sayid annoys me, the temple people annoy me, there are too many groups of people on this island. I only like Jin, Hurley, Miles and Sawyer. Can we kill everyone else
ReplyDeleteAs you know, I am an absolute fanatic, but yes, last nights episode was pretty un-exciting. I'm sure it's going somewhere, but other than fate finidng another way to tell Claire that she has to raise her baby, it was pretty tame.
ReplyDeleteLOVE Lost, hated last night's episode. Also hated that I spent an hour watching my least favorite character (Kate) emote incessantly. I don't think Evangeline Lilly is a very good actress.
ReplyDeleteI have to admit I teared up watching Sawyer talk about Juliet on the dock in Otherton. But best dialogue goes to next week's teaser between Sawyer & Fake-Locke: "I thought you were dead." "I am." Loves it!
ReplyDeleteFILLER....
ReplyDeleteTried to watch the season opener, but I just couldn't make it all the way through.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't able to keep up last week either, but this week I'm back on board. I am so happy to see Claire again. Just waiting for an YOU ALL EVERYBODY appearance!
ReplyDeleteI hated all the silence...all the not answering whenever anyone was asked a question. I guess I really really hate that in real life, too.
ReplyDeleteAnyone have a theory about what happened to Claire to have her like Rousseau? It was nice seeing her back on screen again.
I have been bored with the show for a while but keep watching it because I am invested. Every time something happens with remotely any plot point, I am all, "ah, so this is how they are going to explain the heaven and hell, purgatory, good versus evil, fallen angel theme"? I was a huge fan but in the last season, it just got too confusing and none of the story lines have paid off quickly enough - it's a good way to turn off your viewers.
ReplyDeleteI love LOST but I have to say I feel like an idiot because I don't even try to figure it out. I really like being surprised with new stuff every week. I looked on the discussion boards last night and I'm pretty sure there are people who could/would write a thesis on the subject.
ReplyDeleteI did enjoy last night's episode because I think there was some good build up. No one loves looking at the foundation of a house but the creation that stands on it is pretty exciting. That was so nerdy. Haha...
The only interesting thing we learned last night is that Claire was 'infected' and it took everything that she is.
ReplyDeleteAnd Sayid has a fuzzy belly.
i am a lost fanatic but i have to admit (and hate to admit) i was disappointed with last nights episode. i think kate's story line just doesn't really have anywhere else to go. i mean how many times do we have to see her running from the law? come on now.
ReplyDeletei will admit that i was excited to see claire and i am very interested about the whole infection thing.
check out darkufo for theories/spoilers/video casts. it an awesome website with a lot of information that helps to break stuff down for those of us that have a hard time getting it. i know i do sometimes and i always go "ahhh....i see" after the guy over there explains it.
hopefully that is the last kate-centric episode ever! that's the only thing that i liked about it. oh and the claire is the new rousseau!
ReplyDeleteI love it. I loved even last nights. I love every little detail I can squeeze out, even in the "boring" episodes.
ReplyDeleteI think the alternate reality where everyone made it to Los Angeles is leading up to something unbelievably bad.
We'll see.
Palate cleanser, people! There is always a "slow" LOST episode when a new season starts. (Mad Men does this too) I hated the "Kate Show", but know that next week should be great. Previews focused on fake Locke and Sawyer.
ReplyDeleteryan,
ReplyDeletedo you love the Nikki and Paulo one too?
talk about pointless....
Haven't watched it yet but thanks for the warning that it's about kate. I read all the comments hoping for a "kate's dead" spoiler.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE the show, but Kate annoys me, so that was the bummer for me last night. I just don't think her storyline can carry an entire episode.
ReplyDeleteI think they were pretty much just laying the groundwork (I hope) for some WTF moments later on.
@ Ella Kay, Marchgirl and Jadetoo, I agree that in every season they have episodes that don't say much but lay the groundwork for something to happen later on. It doesn't bother me at all. Last night's slow periods gave me a chance to explain to my husband what was going on. To me, it's all good.
ReplyDeletelast night was awful. partly because it was slow and partly because it was kate-centric. she's the least interesting character for me. i'll take ben or locke over any of the survivors.

ReplyDeleteDamon Lindeloff said on his FB page that if you think it was filler that he encourages you to watch NCIS. LOL
ReplyDeleteThere were some fabulous lines in this episodes. "Of course he's alive. He's an Iraqi torturer who shoots kids; he definitely deserves to live.”
My favorite line was
ReplyDelete"We'll be in the Food Court."
THAT's the other one! Thanks sherri dee!
ReplyDeleteI love this show. I did not love this episode. I kept thinking "Is this it?". I usually watch it riveted to the TV. Last night ...I wondered what else was on for the first time ever.
ReplyDeleteKate-centric episode = boresville
ReplyDeleteFavorite line of the night, however, had to be from Miles (his delivery was hilarious)-
ReplyDelete"Hugo, here, has assumed the leadership position, so that's pretty great."
Favorite exchange of the night-
ReplyDeleteHurley: So, Sayid... you're not, like, a zombie, are you?
Sayid: No, Hurley. I am not a zombie.
Miles is a great character. So dry and snarky. Love him.
ReplyDeleteI liked it. Finally I understand how/why the hell Jack's father has been walking around, and what happened to Claire.
ReplyDeleteKate annoys the crap out of me too (so does Claire's voice, though - my baby! my baby!) but I love Jack and Sawyer.
This is getting good and I'm IN for the ride!
