  1. Cole plays for an English club, so not an 'international'.

  6. What is an english international sportsman? Someone who is english but plays for a non-english team?

  7. @nancer+C

I know, that's why I deleted my guess. It's probably some crap soccer player who plays in Japan, or something just as obscure.

  8. Alice D Millionaire, I read it as an English player on a non-English team or a non-English on an English team.

It could be cricket or rugby too I suppose.

Beckham is the only person on the English national team who does not play for an English club, but I don't think it is him.

  9. I would think that an English International Sportsman is some-one who plays in the international arena say golf, athletics maybe or plays on the national team. - Curious !

  11. I agree with Marion - I'm English and if you play for the national team (football, rugby, cricket, Olympic team - anything) you're referred to as an "England international".

Havevn't got a clue for who it is tho.

  12. Is 'gearing up' a clue to it being a race car driver?

Lewis Hamilton? Nicole Pussy Cat Doll could have been a beard.

I swear 99% of Daily Mirror blinds are made up though.

  13. "International" means he plays for the England national team in international competition (against other countries national teams), and plays regular season in the domestic league (against other English teams).

By process of elimination it is either soccer, cricket, or rugby. All the other sports play internationally as "Great Britain" (also open to Welsh, Scots, and Northern Irish) as opposed to "England" (which is England only)

as to who it is.. no clue.

  16. Jonny Wilkinson, Rugby player

  17. I agree with K, Wilkinson, since he's playing in France at the moment and represents England he covers both bases.

  19. @Hazza Coke mom is an actress. Most of us suspect it is Debra Messing.

Is there some snarky gay angle to this blind item. Like the english athlete's love of his life is a man?

  20. Ben Cohen. That would at least explain some of the RFUs recent advertisments.
