Ashley Cole
ReplyDeleteCole plays for an English club, so not an 'international'.

ReplyDeletei was with you, sue ellen, but he's not english.
ReplyDeleteCristiano Ronaldo isn't English - he's Portuguese.
ReplyDeleteAshley Cole was a joke. ;-)
ReplyDeleteWhat is an english international sportsman? Someone who is english but plays for a non-english team?
ReplyDelete@nancer+C
ReplyDeleteI know, that's why I deleted my guess. It's probably some crap soccer player who plays in Japan, or something just as obscure.
Alice D Millionaire, I read it as an English player on a non-English team or a non-English on an English team.
ReplyDeleteIt could be cricket or rugby too I suppose.
Beckham is the only person on the English national team who does not play for an English club, but I don't think it is him.
I would think that an English International Sportsman is some-one who plays in the international arena say golf, athletics maybe or plays on the national team. - Curious !
ReplyDelete@ .robert - Beckham? bite your tongue ! LOL !
ReplyDeleteI agree with Marion - I'm English and if you play for the national team (football, rugby, cricket, Olympic team - anything) you're referred to as an "England international".
ReplyDeleteHavevn't got a clue for who it is tho.
Is 'gearing up' a clue to it being a race car driver?
ReplyDeleteLewis Hamilton? Nicole Pussy Cat Doll could have been a beard.
I swear 99% of Daily Mirror blinds are made up though.
"International" means he plays for the England national team in international competition (against other countries national teams), and plays regular season in the domestic league (against other English teams).
ReplyDeleteBy process of elimination it is either soccer, cricket, or rugby. All the other sports play internationally as "Great Britain" (also open to Welsh, Scots, and Northern Irish) as opposed to "England" (which is England only)
as to who it is.. no clue.
I have a different question........ Is Sheen's wife Cokemom?
ReplyDeleteOk, I only watch football and the phrase "gearing up" makes me think about criquet for some reason...so no clue either
ReplyDeleteJonny Wilkinson, Rugby player
ReplyDeleteBeckham. LOL.
ReplyDeleteI agree with K, Wilkinson, since he's playing in France at the moment and represents England he covers both bases.
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like a car racer.
ReplyDelete@Hazza Coke mom is an actress. Most of us suspect it is Debra Messing.
ReplyDeleteIs there some snarky gay angle to this blind item. Like the english athlete's love of his life is a man?
Ben Cohen. That would at least explain some of the RFUs recent advertisments.
