FASHION OR FICTION - Adrianna Costa

The Newest Four Letter Word: CLOG

It seems with the birth of a new decade, is the re-birth of the age-old shoe; the Clog. Clogs have been around since the beginning of time, and over the years have been altered almost as many times as Heidi Montag’s face.

As 2010 rolled in, so did the clogs. They’ve stomped their way down all the big runways and landed on the feet of your favorite Stars on the red-carpet.

Here’s how to sport clogs the right way, without breaking the bank.

FASHION: ALEXA CHUNG in clogs by Chanel. For those of us who LOVE the look, but would still like to afford next month’s rent, here’s an equally cool, but much less-expensive pair for $148.
FASHION: SHENAE GRIMES AND ½ OF THE OLSEN TWINSIf you like the effortless vibe sported here by Shenae Grimes and Ms. Olsen in clogs, get a similar pair from Steve Madden for $89. They come in three colors—Cognac, Black and Taupe

  1. Adrianna must have missed Gossip Girl last week. Blair Waldorf declared clogs the lamest thing ever. And for me, Blair on fashion wins :)

  3. I wore those in high school (the mid 90's, yeah) and they were so uncomfortable. That said, I dig the ones in the first big shoe pic.

  4. we wore them in the 70s, too.
oddly enough, i've been through a BUNCH of shoes in the past couple of years trying to find anything other than flip-flops i could wear, and finally found a clog- like sketcher (SKETCHERS of all things!)!

  5. Ugh, I thought Fashion or Fiction was dead. There are so many things wrong with this post, grammatically and otherwise...

  6. I'm with ya momo, I hate this feature. I come here to read and bash celebs. I would rather take a post about John Gosslin and his midget dick than this crap.

I have got to say that after a week of learning from my real estate rep that my house is now going to be a short sale ... Chase bank thinks an affordable repayment plan is about $20 of my normal 5% payment and I have an empty fridge and no cash to buy food .. much less shoes ... I have to say this line gave me the giggles. For this .. I am thankful.

For nice comfortable clogs .. at a pretty great price .. check out the clogs they have atThe Walking Company .. the Dansko's are GREAT if you are on your feet a lot. Sadly .. even at $129 .. they are way way way out of my ability to pay range .. so I am still wearing the two pairs I have from el cheapo brand "Sporto" in Blue Suede and Brown suede that my Mom bought for me about 5 years ago.

Maybe someday I will be able to afford good shoes again .. I hope.

  8. Wil, I'm sorry about your situation. I'm glad that you are keeping a sense of humor. I don't know if I could be as graceful about things. In fact I know I couldn't.

I just got a pair of Dansko's from The Walking Company today. I've been wanting a pair for years. I just made a job change to a position where I'm on my feet all day and I decided to treat myself. I spent at least a week's grocery budget. I hope these are the last clogs I ever buy. Take care.

  10. I think it's odd how this just snuck in here. It wasn't here earlier today, so...yeah. Odd.

And still crap, no matter which way you slip it in.

  11. It's embarrassing that this was ever written, let alone posted on here.

  12. Wil, I'm with you - about $35 a pair is my upper limit on shoes. And that's maybe twice a year.

  15. Shit, I get most of my shoes from Ross or TJ Maxx. I wouldn't spend big money on shoes like that when you can get them for like, $20. I save my money so I can buy some Jordans or, if I can ever find them, the boots that one guy was wearing in "Timecop". I would spend a LOT of money for those boots, but that's about it. $148 for a pair of clogs? LOL!!! Not in this lifetime!
