Today's Blind Items

This stunning B list movie actress has been in rehab before. Recently she was in rehab again. It didn't last long though. Two days into her most recent stint she was kicked out when she was caught smoking meth with another patient. She has since moved on to another rehab facility where she is a few days short of completing her 30 days.

  2. I don't think Eva is stunning or B list.

    Eva Mendez FTW!

  4. As a recovered meth (and other stimulants and club drugs) addict, I feel both pity and disgust at these blinds. Pity because the addict knows only one thing is true: doing more drugs will make them feel better. Disgust for the same reason, more or less. I only stopped when the whole world stood between me and money, and I couldn't make the drugs show up again.

I suspect that the actress in question was put into rehab to get back to work, which in her mind meant: to make more money, which will be transformed into more drugs and more locked rooms in hotels, watching days go by, getting high. Forcing people into rehab sometimes works, when the miracle happens inside a person's own mind, but it often fails because the addict is just jumping through hoops to shut people up.

  5. for me,Eva Mendes is stunning,B list and had been in rehab so she's a good guess

  6. This B.I it's a little vague for me, but is Eva still a B?

  7. @Barton Fink.. very well said.

  8. Is Drew Barrymore automatic A-List?

As a rule, when celebs start talking about how wonderful their marriages are and their sex lives, the marriage is on the brink. Wasn't Sandra Bullock bragging about her sex life at some awards show? Where there's smoke, there's fire.

  10. Kirsten Dunst?

  11. The reference to stunning is relevant to the source. If memory serves me correctly Enty believes Eva is "stunning" so this could be her.

    ReplyDelete
  12. Wasn't Eva FHM's Sexiest Woman of the Year (maybe Maxim)? That would surely mean that she can be reffered to as "tunning"

    ReplyDelete
  13. I mean "stunning" :)

I checked that "sexiest" list information and she was:

"Ranked #7 on the Maxim magazine Hot 100 of 2007 list"

And #7 on year 2008 as well

"No. 1[7] in the 2009 edition of AskMen.com's Top 99 Most Desirable Women"

  14. I believe enty loves Eva and would call her stunning.

I don't see her as a methhead though. She just doesn't strike me as sketchy enough.

    ReplyDelete
  15. Yeah, Eva is stunning for SURE. And she has been outside of the light for a while, my money is on her.

  16. From US Weekly article 2 years ago. - "Mendes quietly went to rehab and left quickly, she's back in LA to "attend to some personal business", according to her publicist, but she's reportedly going to return to rehab after. Mendes is one of those actresses that doesn't get nearly as much attention as she deserves, she's actually really talented so let's hope her addiction doesn't get the best of her."

    Eva FTW.

  17. not on my dollar and trouble bubble, i've been wondering about that "stunning" thing, too -- it seems odd enough of a word to be a clue, doesn't it

    ReplyDelete
  18. Ok...since Enty loves her and she has been to rehab before, I will climb on the Eva parade float. Still don't think she is B list. I didn't even know who she was until today.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh yeah, Eva M. has had some good roles--she had second billing/love interest to Nic Cage in Ghost Rider and Will Smith in Hitch; done and still does tons of modeling, including (what was it?) a Calvin Klein campaign, I think...

I would consider her B List.

    ReplyDelete
  20. ...And Enty seems to be really taken with her.

    ReplyDelete
  21. Definitely Eva.
And I second my applause at Barton Fink's first comment.

  22. I've seen a lot but am still extremely clueless when it comes to the attraction of drugs. Can anyone help me understand the perceived benefit of meth? What is the attraction? Consider... there's a guy who juggles chainsaws at Venice Beach. The fact that he juggles chainsaws isn't intriguing to me. But the idea that at one time, he thought he should start juggling chainsaws... now that fascinates. Same with drugs. With so many celebrity deaths, destroyed lives and horror tales, why start?

Barton Fink, congratulations! Health is everything... even when the days are crummy, the sun can shine.

  23. I thought Eva right off the bat. The first sentence of the blind. She is definitely stunning, and I would consider her B list. Some good movies, modeling. She went to rehab before....

Obviously, EVERYONE on here agree's :)

    Eva - FTW!!

    Happy St. Patty's!!

  24. @tinselsass people that start using drugs usually do so to fill an emotional void, typically stemming from childhood trauma, depression, abuse, feelings of "never fitting in" etc. most drugs at first feel like that void is filled- cocaine usually creates a feeling of euphoria and builds up self esteem in a way to make you believe you're cooler than you actually are, which for people with low self worth, this is an amazing feeling. pot mellows people out, usually those with adhd or high levels of anxiety. meth causes extreme emotional and physical euphoria... at first. you're wired so you'll usually start and maybe finish projects like cleaning the house and whatnot and that convinces people they can accomplish more being high. you feel on top of the world and that is an addictive feeling for those whove never felt it before. it's a high people chase and that's why they get hooked; they feel empty emotionally/mentally and that's what leaves them vulnerable to trying anything and everything they can to fill it. normally drug abusers have tried other healthier things to feel happy, like socializing and such, but it's usually with less than stellar people who suggest those drugs in the first place.

wow, sorry for the long post. i've had a lot of experience with this stuff, so i'm always eager to throw my two cents in, lol. and congrats to barton fink on your sobriety. it's a wonderful thing to accomplish and i wish you more success in your future!

  26. Ok, telling me that meth will get my house clean is NOT a good deterrent! Jokes aside the commercials with the young teens describing their lives after meth are heartbreaking.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I definitely thought of Eva. I don't personally consider her either stunning or B-list, but I do seem to remember Enty having a lovefest with her, so she makes the most sense.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Thanks, Ms. Leigh. I have never read or heard a more insightful, clear description and delineation. THANK YOU THANK YOU! You are one of the reasons CDaN is the BEST community. (And when appropriate, smart snark is another.)

  29. How in the H E double toothpicks
does Eve Mendes do meth and look that good?
    I don't get it.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I wondered the same thing, B626. Considering how many stars have drug problems I've no idea how they don't end up looking strung out. Even Lilo, while her looks are quickly deteriorating, looks decent considering how often she does coke, gets drunk, and pops pills. Though I guess if you have the money getting veneers and expensive facial treatments to fix the mess help.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Interestingly, Enty put Eva and Lilo in a sentence in his last tag of her. The comparison of her wearing Lilo's leggings was surely planned in advance?

    ReplyDelete
  32. Eva Mendes has been called "stunning" by Enty many, many times now. There are also many blinds that fit Eva where the B list actress has been referred to as "stunning."
Eva Mendes, as I always thought before.

    ReplyDelete
  33. Eva definitely fits, but would Winona Ryder fit too?

    ReplyDelete
  34. Thank you barton fink. I am also a recovered meth addict, clean since Nov 20, 2002. I am just now getting to the point where I don't "trip" over my words at least once a day. Nobody ever wants to talk about being a meth addict...too white trash I guess lol. But I live in the TX Panhandle, so I'm game. ;-)

Oh yeah, my scratch is on Eva. She is certainly stunning....yowza.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Definitely Eva. Stunning? check. Rehab before? check. Considered B-list? Maybe not for some, but as Ent loves her, I'd say, check. I also recall a blind from a while ago, that was suspected to be Eva, from A starbucks, where a certain actress was walking around erratically (like a peacock), I can see that kind of behavior being meth-ish. Also, if Ent mentioned Eva and Lohan together, that's a good hint because anyone that reads Ted C's blinds knows that Morgan Mayhem (Lohan) delved into Meth not super long ago (I think now it's just pills)

  36. Rehashed info from US Weekly is now a blind?

  37. @Tinselsass - Methamphetamine is a very powerful stimulant. For me from the very first time I did it, I was hooked. I remember that first weekend very clearly. We all started Friday. By Sunday we we're still going strong. It was the first time in my life when I actually realized "how" some people end up crazy. Even with this revelation, I still did it. We would usually start on Thursday and end Sunday. Then.. Thursday started turning into Wednesday and Sunday started turning into Monday. Eventually we we're doing in non-stop. You go through a lot of friends and a lot of different "dealers" or "cookers". You end up in an underground world of Meth heads and that turns into your life. I did meth heavily for 7 straight years. I ALMOST lost it all. I alienated my family and my friends who weren't using. I did a lot of Fucked up stuff. I DID not however, like a lot of users, 1. Shoot it up. 2. Steal cars, or anything from my parents. I stole little stuff to hock, but never anyting major. 3. I NEVER sold my body for drugs....

The drug is just so powerful - you feel like you can do anything. My house was always sparkling and my laundry was always done. I never wanted to come down. I think the longest I stayed awake was a month. No joke. LUCKY for me my "cooker/boyfriend" got busted and went to prison. After that I used for another year or so, and then came to the realization that there is life after Meth. I went home (parents), slept for 4 days, got a job at a deli, and worked for MONTHS and even YEARS to *fix* all of the important relashionships that I had fucked up because of METH. My family are awesome because they took me back, and even my best friend - who was like a brother to me eventually came around...Like I say I am one of the LUCKY ones. I didn't have to go to rehab, and I am not sitting in a jail cell.

So, yes, I thank my lucky stars everyday....

Now, this was 8 years ago and I am slowly seeing all of the effects the drug did to my body and my mind. I have HORRIBE short term memory loss, I am 30 pounds overweight, and for a long time I had NO ambition or motivation to do anything with my life. 8 years and I am just starting to decided what I want to do with my life. I am 35 now, and I would give anything to go back to my 21st birthday and do it all again....

That is just my story. There are a lot of people out there that have it way worse then me, but I just thought I would give you MY personal experience. I am lucky I never shot up. The one rule I made for myself a long time ago, is that if I have to shoot the drug, any drug, directly into my blood stream, then that is a problem. And, again I am so glad I never broke down and did it. I was certainly around a lot of people who we're...

Okay, I'll stop with this novel now.. Carry on!

Oh, one more thing. For the people who are wondering how she can be so beautiful and still do Meth. It dosen't always make you look like the people on "faces of meth". I didn't lose my looks or my teeth. It is all about how you take care of yourself. I have always looked young for my age, that helped. But a lot of people have told me that I am so lucky that I look so good for having done so much Meth.

  38. Am I the only one who remembers Ent disliking Eva? I thought she did something to him a couple years ago thus making him dislike her. I know I'm not making this up...anyone?

    ReplyDelete
  39. Eva was photographed out and about in Los Angeles on March 10. I don't know how current these blinds are but it sounds like the person in question is still in rehab.

    ReplyDelete
  40. If this blind is supposed to be current it might not be Eva Mendes, she was at a Missoni party last night. Womens Wear Daily tweeted a picture: http://twitpic.com/199wih

  41. @Icecat and Barton congratulations on your sobriety. Drugs can take hold of you in a terrible way. I am glad you both were able to make it through.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Wow Icecat, I'm glad you're still with us - congrats and kudos to you and BartonFink!

    ReplyDelete
  43. Thanks Rocket & Lady!

I am also still glad I'm with us :)

I would also like to congratulate City Councilmen Doug. It looks like we got sober around the same time.. And you said it best with this line: "Nobody ever wants to talk about being a meth addict...too white trash I guess."

    It's totally true.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Enty posted a pic of Eva today, I think to refute the guesses on this one.

  45. Thanks, Icecat. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your story. Especially since you are taking care and now in a good space. Congrats also to BartonFink and City Councilman Doug.

Thanks to all who shared their perspective. Someday, when my nieces and nephews grow up, I'll be able to share some insight re: "Don't do drugs!" (My dad had mental illness so somehow, I was smart/lucky enough to never try anything.)
