Bull Fighter Gets Gored **Warning** Graphic**

Over the weekend, one of the world's best matadors was gored while fighting a bull in Mexico. Apparently he came very close to losing his life. While I hate to see anyone injured or hurt, I also hate to see bulls being needlessly killed for sport. No article I read about the incident happened to mention how many bulls this guy has killed over the years. I see no point in this "sport" and when a bull finally wins, there are pleas to save the bull fighter and nothing said about the fact that the bull will probably be killed next time out.

  1. Serves his @ss right for hurting a defenseless animal. Never understood the need for bullfighting.

  2. Agreed, Enty! According to another article I read, bullfighting had FINALLY been on the decline in Spain until this guy came out of retirement and almost single-handedly brought it back to popularity. A disgusting "sport" in which the bull is handicapped before it even enters the ring. Disgusting.

  3. I'm with y'all. I think it is completely within the bull's rights to defend itself. I actually said 'yay' out loud when I heard this story. Too bad he still has his testicles.

  6. fuck them and the barbaric 'sport!'

i NEVER go to see the bullfighting if they have it (not often ) in Spain.

what other sport do you know of stabs a bull over and over and THEN lets it in the ring?? it's half dead when it starts.

  7. Though, saying that, I still didnt watch the video. Death sucks, no matter how much of an asshole you are and have it coming to.

  8. Er, just re-read that he was ONLY injured. Too bad

  9. I went to a bullfight when I was in Spain, thinking maybe I could see the "culture" behind it. I was way wrong. It was horrible to watch. They kill the bull there in the ring, and the bull is way outnumbered and scared shitless from the get go. In the end they drag the bloody dead bull out of the ring. I left after one fight, it turned my stomach.

  10. i hate this shit. and sorry, but i won't shed any tears for anyone who gets injured while torturing an innocent animal and making it crazy with pain.

how this 'sport' even continues in the 21st century, i will never understand.

    GO BULLS!!

  11. I say good for the bull. The guy deserved it. I can not understand why this disgusting, inhumane sport hasn't been outlawed. The Japanese use the same "culturally significant" line of BS to defend the slaughter of whales and dolphins.

A totally repugnant "sport", right down there with dog fighting, in my book.

  13. I agree, I don't think this is a sport, I don't understand the competitive value in it. Not only it isn't fair to the animal but it also brings this macho-medieval ego and I hate it.

  14. My congratulations to the bull.

  15. Bullfights make me embarrassed for my culture and heritage. Needs to be stopped already. I'm always happy when a bullfighter gets gored by the bull, but sad for the bull. On the other hand, he's going to die a painful death anyway, at least when he's taken one of the bullfighters out, he's evened the score a little.

  17. Good. I hope he's getting a taste of fear and excruciating pain.

  18. I can't watch because I'm a pussy like that. But, I will admit to saying "Good" when I read the title.

  19. I hope you guys are equally disgusted by the treatment of circus animals right here in our OWN COUNTRY. Spain is not the only ones who treat animals with cruelty. Hopefully, none of you patronize the circus community either.

  20. The bull is already dying= the swords in him are draining him slowly and he's dying.

  21. @Mooshki - We have the same problem in Atlanta. I'm on the Animal Welfare Committee. People are actually posting signs in certain area's saying the will pay cash for unwanted pets. The sign goes up for a few hours and they take it down. We haven't been able to get a number off of one yet, but it is probably a pre-paid cell that would do us no good. Despicable!

Good for the bull!! I hate this sport.

  22. i have never and would never go to a circus. rodeos either. i'm against ANYTHING that exploits and hurts animals and think the penalties for doing so should be way harsher.

i was also appalled to learn about the culture of 'crush videos', thanks to the recent supreme court case. people are so sick.

  23. The bull was going for a ....... scrotum goring, right?!?!?!?!!?

  24. Ditto DrDocks and nancer. Animals are not for entertainment and exploitation. Period.

  25. I don't understand why it's called Bull*fighting*. The matador has weapons so the bull is overmatched right from the beginning. The matador always has the advantage and they always kill the bull, so how's that a fight? What it is is animal torture.

  26. Icecat, can't the police call that number and arrest the fuckers who show up to buy the "unwanted" pets?

  27. I always root for the bulls.

  28. Gretchen - For some reason in my neighborhood, we have not been able to get a number yet. People who report the signs do not stop to get the number, they usually just post the news on the website. By the time someone goes to get the sign & number it's gone. We have one officer that is dedicated to the welfare of pets, but he is not always available. I HOPE, so much, that we are able to get a number and get a lead, but the number will probably turn up a pre-paid cell phone with a fake name.. :(

  29. I’m truly sorry the bull didn’t get the opportunity to finish him off. Like buck/bronc riding and hunting for sport, this makes me sick.

First, let me say I don’t have anything against someone who hunts deer if they are going to eat it (although I still am against it). But you gotta eat it. I guess I wouldn’t be so against hunting for sport if it were actually a fair fight. Let me explain.

If someone wants to kill a deer (just for the sport of it) they have to use a knife. No gun, no bow & arrow. Just a knife. Want to kill a bear (or some other carnivor), they can use 2 knifes. But no more! There… go see how manly you are now.

Is it wrong of me to get all warm and fuzzy inside when I think of a bear or mountain lion tearing a game hunter to shreads?

  30. The bull won't be killed the next time out, because there won't be a next time for him.

Bulls are killed in the arena (after their ears and tail have been cut off) with a sword through the heart.

In the cases where the killing in the arena does not happen (legal constraints or an interruption, such as when a bullfighter is seriously injured) the bull is taken to an abattoire and killed there.

  31. GOOD! Serves his ass right.

    Stupid, ignorant, disgusting "sport."

Fuck, I'd rather see human cage fighting to the death--at least that is a fair fight.

This killing of animals for sheer sport pisses me the fuck OFF.

If you're gonna eat it, fine.

But torturing anything to death just to do it just plain sucks. I say the bullfighter got what his ass deserved!

  32. However, I did appreciate the nicely anatomical graphic at the end.

  33. Oh, and no problem there, Drcocks.

I have not entered one foot into any circus OR zoo in many, many years and I never plan to, ever again.

  34. @MOM: No, its not wrong of you. I feel the exact same way!
    :)
