Jenny McCarthy Says Steven Seagal Wanted Her To Strip

Way back in 1998, Jenny McCarthy told Movieline Magazine that she auditioned for Under Siege 2. That was actually the last Seagal movie I liked. Funny enough I think that is the one that had Katherine Heigl in it. Anyway, Jenny said that when she went into audition for a part, all there was in the office was a big couch. Steven told her to sit on the couch then got way personal. "He says 'So, you were Playmate of the Year?' Then he said: 'take off your dress,'" McCarthy continued. "I just started crying and said: 'Rent my Playboy video, you a*****e!' and ran out to the car."

CBS News says that nine women came forward that year to talk about harassment from Seagal. He is an ass, and I wish Jenny would have kicked him in the balls.

LOL - enty, are you wondering if perhaps Heigl succeeded thru that same type of audition?

  2. oh poor Jenny.

not saying it didn't happen, but probably didn't happen all soap-opera-like, and she lost me when she decided she wants us all to get infected with TB and MMR because she has to blame her son's autism somewhere.

Why is it that one someone has something serious medically happen to them or their family they think they are qualified to give medical advice? I was in TN and saw a commercial where a wife had a pamphlet for people with pain control measures, etc, for, I think it was lung cancer. Apparently her husband had it and now she's got a PhD.

  3. On one hand I feel bad for her cause who wants to be accosted by some gross pervert, but on the other hand I don't cause I don't like her and her crazy claims about autism.
Oh, and she was a pornstar so it's not like she's all virginal and pure, and someone took her dignity and self-respect. That being said, just cause she was a pornstar doesn't give people the right to touch her. I'm torn.

  4. I think if it is true, he is disgusting. However, considering she posed naked for Playboy willingly, she should not have been so melodramtic. It isn't as if she was sold into slavery & forced to be a Playmate.
A simple "no thanks, I wanted to get the part based on my talent (smirk)" would have sufficed. What were the tears for?

  5. Correction:

Not a pornstar, playboy pin up.

  6. I don't understand, if NINE women came forward in the past to complain about his harassment, why was nothing done? Why is this just going public NOW?

  7. I hate sleazeballs like him. Stories like these only come out after celebrities have been reduced to d-listers, though. I wish it wasn't like that.

  8. I'm guessing that when you pose nude for Playboy, crude comments and gestures toward you for the rest of your life are a given. It is creepy and wrong. I'm with RocketQueen. Why wouldn't someone come forward before now?

  9. I don't understand what her views about vaccinations have to do with her experience with Seagal...

He's the bad guy here. And no, I don't know for sure this happened, but since it doesn't sound like Jenny was the only one I believe her, no matter what her personal beliefs (or what she was wearing, or her past, or whatever persecution VICTIMS of harassment or assault have to deal with...)

  10. @jen

Her views about vaccinations and autism, to me, speaks to her delusions of grandeur. I have to raise an eye-brow to anyone like that who makes an allegation against someone else. As someone else said, why bring it up now? If it happened it should have been addressed when it happened, not years later.

    Questionable!

  11. I remember when Jenny spoke about the incident on Howard Stern. Jenny was pretty humiliated by the whole thing.

There was another actress that came on Howard (can't remember which one) that did a movie with Segal he claime he was a Shaman and wanted to do some "healing massages" on her in his trailer.

She ran out of the trailer when he started to take his clothes off.

  12. Also, even though clearly Seven Segal is a creep. It sounds like he did all this at the height of his fame. Women didn't come forward becuase they didn't want to be blacklisted in Hollywood.

Also, I don't think he did anything illegal just leveraged his fame and power. Like many, many other men in Hollywood.

  13. Sure, Steven Segal was in a lot of action movies, but I doubt that he had enough 'star power' to make or break someone's career.

  14. People I know say it was no secret that in order for a woman to be in one of SS's movies, she had to do him.

The people I know didn't "audition," but there were still plenty of women who accepted it.

That's why nothing was done. The old Hollywood casting couch. He wasn't the first and I'm sure not the last.

  15. I'm with Jen: Jenny's views on autism & this incident are completely unrelated. Relating the two is ridiculous.

"Oh, according to our records, you refused medical treatment years ago. Sorry, you can't wear halter tops in public."

    Yes, that ridiculous.

  16. I agree with some of you. I think that being a former pron star and playmate doesn't give anyone the right to force themselves on anyone, never. I also think that her credibility (IMO) is a bit shady.

    ReplyDelete
  17. From everything I've heard, especially in the 90's, sleeping with SS was part and parcel of getting one of the smaller roles in his films. I heard of a girl being rather upset upon finding out what was expected of her after she got the role. I don't know if that was required of the larger roles as well.

Yes, I can see Jenny being that upset at the time as she was young and trying to transition to a legitimate actress and thought she would be going into a legitimate casting session.

I also understand why she didn't say anything about it until she had her own fame to stand on. At the time, although SS might not have ended your career, he could have made things difficult, especially for someone starting out. Pervs talk and if they are warned that you either don't play or will cause problems then they just won't have you in to read.

This town is rampant with casting couches. For every girl that says no, there are 100 that will say yes and for every star/agent/exec that doesn't require it, there are 100 that think they're entitled.

She's not the one bringing this up now. News outlets are to show that it's been a pattern with SS.

Finally, to those who hold her opinions about Autism against her credibility, how would you feel if your boss told you to strip and you told on him, only to be waved off because of your religious/political/moral beliefs. No matter what your background or what you believe, you should not be made to feel like your career is in jeopardy because you won't put out.

  18. No one is saying that because she doesn't like vaccines, that she doesn't deserve to be treated by respect by casting directors. I (not speaking for the others) could give a rat's ass about anything related to Jenny because I think she does a huge disservice to everyone by promoting the idea that vaccines=autism. To me, that is the same as someone saying they don't like Tom Cruise because he is a Scientologist. No one ever said because of her views she deserves to be assaulted.

  19. What a fucking pig. (No, I'm not going to ** it - he deserves the full word.)

I don't think that posing nude or being in porn gives anyone any right to treat you like this. It's like the old days when rapists used the "she's a slut" defense. I know a lot of people who think that hookers can't be raped. Not true. :( Everyone should have control over their body, no matter what they choose to do with it.

  20. Damn, was Seagal ever really that influential? I don't think I've seen a single of his movies.

Considering this type of behavior goes on in all sorts of industries outside Hollywood, its not really surprising. Good for Jenny for speaking out against this db.

  21. This is no great surprise. Everyone who has followed gossip columns for the last 10+ years knows about this.

  22. I also agree with Athena. It's a shame when anyone (especially a female) blames the victim. This was sexual harassment and Steven should go to jail.

And no, I'm certainly not a Jenny Mc fan but her views on autism have absolutely nothing to do with AND NINE OTHER WOMEN complaining of being sexually harassed.

It happened and somebody needs to put Steve's fat ass in jail!

  23. Pam Grier, Sharon Stone, Joanna Pacula, Gina Gershon, Joan Chen, Katherine Heigl, Marg Helgenberger, Cathy Moriarty, Lauren Vélez, and Nia Peeples are the better known U.S. actresses to have worked in films with Steven Seagal. If the rumor is true, these women each deserve an Academy Award for enduring such treatment and managing to walk a red carpet with their heads held high. Sad.

  24. She didn't just bring this up, you're all just hearing about it.

None of these posts surprise me. always blame the victim. She's been naked so she should expect to be propositioned. A girl asked for it because of the way she dressed.

Saying she exaggerated about because you think she has ridiculous medical beliefs is ridiculous.

    ReplyDelete
  25. HA! I wonder what all of Seagal's police department friends think of this -- I read that they cancelled his reality tv show (which I admit I have watched 2 or 3 times.) I always thought he was an interesting character -- now I realize he is no better that a lot of his perverted peers.

  27. What a douche, however .. not entirely surprising. Didn't Kelly Le Brock divorce him over some shady behavior with actresses in his movies?? Been a really long time since they divorced so I can't really recall clearly. But all I can think of when I see him is: "Ick. Nast." Never thought highly of him.

I agree, it's becoming an epidemic.

  29. Erika Eleniak got the starring female role in that particular SS movie.
Makes me feel bad for her.
