The Beckhams Turn To Cheap Foreign Labor For Their Staff
Did you know that David & Victoria Beckham have 50 people who work for them as drivers and gardeners and chauffeurs and maids? I didn't either. Well, it turns out they don't have that many now anyway. In a move to save money the couple cut their staff by 14 people. Apparently even though they can afford the staff they just decided they had too many people. Some of the people being let go though are being replaced by cheap foreign labor. One person has worked for The Beckhams for 8 years but was replaced with two "cost efficient" foreign workers.
So basically David & Victoria are looking for people they can hire cheap and don't want to pay a decent wage to people. Do you realize they have a house in Dubai with staff and servants? When is the last time you even saw them go to Dubai?
Enty, you have been very indignant over the past few days. Did the hamburger supply run out?
ReplyDeleteIf the source of this story is the Sun newspaper,I don't buy it for a minute. And who cares who they hire and fire. Its their money and if they want to save money buy letting people go,who cares? I mean corporations and stores fire people all the time,it sucks but thats life.
ReplyDeleteOnly 14 employees?? HOW WILL THEY SURVIVE????
ReplyDeleteThe question is are they legal?
ReplyDeleteMCH, I think it means they cut 14. I guess they have to economize to indulge her passion for fashion.
ReplyDeleteShe needs to hire a bra inspector like Britney's dad did. She's got da wonky tits in that picture.
ReplyDeleteYou get what you pay for. So if one of the cheaper workers decides to steal ya blind then don't come crying to the tabs.
ReplyDeleteIt really doesn't matter if they hire "foreign" workers or not as long as they pay the people worthy wages and not try to get by being cheap.
So what if they have a house in Dubai with six servants and they don't go to Dubai? I say there are six people there living quite nicely.
@sunnyside - ah, you are right. Cut "by" 14 people. So anyway. 36 employees. How will they survive?? heehee!
ReplyDeleteThey are both gross fame whores.
ReplyDeleteThey're way too greedy for my taste.
ReplyDeleteThis is depressing.

ReplyDeleteSomehow I just can't muster any energy to care about this..
ReplyDeleteMeh. I have no interest in either of the two, so I don't give a hoot what they do.
ReplyDeleteEnty, Enty calm down ! This isn't like you, first Aniston, now the Beckhams, it's just lightweight stuff - who's next ? Also never seen her go to Dubai, but can't remember when and can't be bothered to look it up, but I think he was there relatively recently.
ReplyDeleteNot a fan of theirs but how do we know this is true?
ReplyDeleteI'll be that when Posh visits her place in Dubai she wears the purtiest bedazzled burkhas EVER!!!!
nothing wrong w/ having foreign employees...pay them a fair wage and that's that. hope no one is being exploited, legal or not.
ReplyDeleteThe Sun is the UK version of the NE, so I wouldn't put too much stock in what they printing. But if it is true, whose to say the people they let go were actually working for them full time or were even needed in the first place? I feel more outrage over CEO's firing thousands of people so they can get a raise.
ReplyDeleteWhatever...
ReplyDeleteI hope one of the fired staff writes a book.
