Today's Blind Items

So, when you are someone who was the star of a reality show/performer with interesting teeth you expect that when you and your crew roll into a New York City strip club that everything will be taken care of. Well, apparently you would be wrong. Our reality show star did go to a strip club with some of his friends and ordered a round of drinks. They then decided to move to the VIP section. The bartender asked the manager if she should comp the drinks. The manager said the group needed to pay for their drinks just like everyone else. So, the bartender gave the group the bill. $66. Our reality star had $40 on him and no plastic. The rest of the group had no plastic but did manage to come up with the other $26. Of course no tip. They then left the club but were very pleasant. No, do you know you who I am kind of stuff. My question is even if you thought you were going to get free drinks, were you not going to tip the women for dancing for you? Should they consider it an honor to dance for you for free instead of making a buck with the paying customers?

  1. @cdanluva, good call. I like that guess.

  2. No clue on the blind, but there is no requirement to tip at a strip club. Some of the dancers aren't that good and if you aren't showing/doing much tricks/dance wise then I will keep my money.

Love it. All I could think about was snaggletooth Dunst.

  4. Not even remotely blind.

This is Flav. A friend of mine actually told me that he saw him at a club with an entourage.

He may be crazy...but he's not a bad dude.

  5. Flavor Flav, he is super nice and tipped me $100 on a bottle of Champagne back in my serving days...

  6. I was stumped by the "interesting teeth" bit. At first I thought Crystal Bowersox and then I read it was a "he". Good call, cdanluva!

  7. At least he paid and wasn't rude to anyone. This could happen to any of us.

  8. I agree that it sounds like Flava Flav. At least he was nice about it.

  9. Yeah I thought you didn't tip UNLESS you had a lap dance. And I didn't think they gave those away for free.

I'm upset they didn't tip the bartender, not the strippers (unless services were rendered).
I can't fathom not having a cc with me at all times.

  10. So this fool spent all of his reality show money? Uh huh. With his 35 kids, I bet he can't pay child support.

  11. Regarding your last sentence, strippers work to make money!

  13. I thought of Carrot Top, but I can't remember if he was ever on a reality show, and with him being in Vegas all the time I am just not sure.

  14. Thought of Elliott Yamin from American Idol. He had some bad teeth going on due to his Type 1 Diabetes during his time on the show.

  15. @rebellious, contrary and nice
    :) haha, I know that.
Do they get an hourly rate and then tips from lap dances? I'm not really sure how that works. I have been in my fair share with my husband & his friends in our younger days...I never really had many heart to hearts with the gals though.

  16. Now if memory serves me correctly from my dancing days in Vegas, when one goes to VIP, one doesn't go there to take up space and gawk. The purpose of VIP is to get dances and spend money so the idea of someone taking their broke asses into VIP knowing they couldn't pay is pretty jacked up!

  20. my 1st thought was flava flav too...idt he's a bad dude...but he's cheesy, looking to see where he can get a freebie in everything. he hit on my backstage during u2's zoo tv tour back in the day...(back when public enemy was still someone and was one of the opening acts) and i never forgot how cheesy the guy was...i was really young and just starting out in my career and it freaked me out. he wasn't creepy, just all sorts of major cheesy.

  21. @notameangirl...that is EXACTLY who i thought of, but i couldn't think of his name...but after reading the comments, i might just jump ship and go with Flav...he has that funny grill thing

  22. the only time the girls get paid is when the customer gives them money, either from the stage or from dances. there is the fee per lap dance and then there is a tip on top of that based on how many dances she did and how happy you are with her.

the girls do not get paid hourly. there is one chain i know of that offers that in their contract, but they admitted no girl ever went for that because they're only getting $12/hour plus stage tips and they'd have to split any tips on top of dances and forfeit any profits from those dances. the girls don't work for free, but they do pay to work (stage fee, house "rent", tips to djs, bouncers and management) so if you do like the girl, please tip her on top of the dances. also, to be a decent person in general, tip the doorman/girl, bartender, wait staff and anyone else who works there doing any service for you.

  23. Thanks Ms. Leigh for breakin' it down for us. I knew a dancer in Albuquerque who was the sister of a friend. She was working to support her son and send him to private school. Seemed like a decent lady.

    My guess: Foofy Foofy

  24. anytime cheryl!

it does sound an awful lot like flavorflav, doesn't it? tho it does strike me as a rookie move; def. something a younger guy (25-) would do. they're notorious for not tipping and "forgetting" their atm/cc's at these clubs.

  25. If it was that Flavor person, I can understand him barely being able to pay a sixty dollar bar tab. I'm surprised he could afford gas to get there.

  26. I worked as a bartender for years at strip clubs and as a rule the VIP's were the worse tippers we had. Their mindset is "I am famous and rich so I deserve everything free". If you go into a club and do not at least tip your bartenders and give the girl on stage a dollar then you should stay at home and watch pornos.

  27. Who in holy hell is foofy foofy?

  28. Ohhh, i'll probably burn in hell for thinking i know the answer to Sunnyside's question. I think "Foofy Foofy" was Brigitte Nielsen's [sp?] nickname for Flavor Flav. I SWEAR i only caught part of that series when i was channel surfing.
