Kirstie Alley Is Lying About Her Weight Loss Claims

The National Enquirer is reporting that Kirstie Alley is lying about her weight loss claims. Kirstie said about a month ago that she had dropped 50 pounds. The Enquirer thinks it is about 25 pounds at the most. I could see that. She is pushing that diet program of hers and if the founder of the company can't lose weight with it then what chance does anyone else have? It would not surprise me if there were 1000 Sea Org people somewhere being forced to follow the program so that Kirstie can have some before and after pictures of people.

The Enquirer says that photo of her in Italy has been photoshopped. If that claim is true and she uses that to advertise her 50 pound weight loss using her program and really is not, then she might have some legal issues. Maybe Xenu will rise from the earth and help her.

I'm just astounded that anyone would take weightloss advice from this broad. Her weight yo-yos all over the place. She is just so extreme.

It seems like Weight Watchers is really the best weight-loss program out there.

I'm hoping I won't need to do anything extreme after my baby comes. But if I need a program, it will be Weight Watchers. Fortumately, I only gained 27 pounds, and I'm in month 9! Woo hoo!

THAT picture is photoshopped? I cant even see her behind that desk!

Susan....you'll be fine....take it slow.

Oh my God, this is exactly what I said when the claim first came out. I said there was no way she really lost all that weight when every picture of the "new" her (like the one above) hides the majority of her body.

Then there was this picture from a couple weeks ago (scroll down below the photoshopped one)

Liar liar pants on fire.

What's the point of the picture? Is it an ad?

Susan, when pregnant you should eat for quality, not quantity. I was pregnant twice and gained about 30 with each one and it all came off after the baby was born. Sounds like you should be OK. Good luck!

Well, I suppose if you lose and gain the same 10 lbs five times, technically you can say you lost 50 lbs :) I should know - I've lost over 1,000 lbs. in the last 10 years...lol...

What is the point of all the men in in this picture? It must be my turn to be clueless.

Diets don't work. Diet pills aren't the magic bullet. The only lasting "diet" is changing your eating habits. Kirstie should know this, from Jenny Craig (which I follow and is very healthy). But you have to understand that you have to eat healthy for the rest of your life. Swallowing a pill that suppresses your appetite for awhile to lose a bunch of pounds (no matter how many) isn't the solution, except if you want to get rich off millions of others who haven't figured all this out.

The faster you lose weight, the faster and the more you gain it back. No way she's gonna keep off whatever she's lost this way.

Just sayin'.

Nunaurbiz - I agree. All diets do in the end is make you fatter, because at some point, you're going to go back to eating the way you used to. WW is nothing but a moneysucking cult IMO. Count points, weigh in every week and get scolded for not having lost enough weight? Um, I can do that for free. It's called "having an eating disorder", and I do not recommend it.

well, if she said 'eat healthy, eat less and exercise' she wouldn't make a dime, right? that's the ONLY reason these 'diets' exist in the first place. she's used her obesity as a marketing tool before, with that stupid show she did.
i can't stand her.

I agree with @Susan on who I will NOT be taking dieting advice from.

I've done WW before but not full blown. My sister did it & had extra copies of all the nutritional guides, point counters, etc. I never went to meetings, did weigh ins, etc. so I paid nothing. I just ate smaller portions according to the guides & exercised. Wa-la, I lost weight.

I think a lot of people like it b/c its easier than keeping up with every aspect of a product's nutritional guide.

I don't really know much about weight loss programs, because I've always exercised a ton and I eat what I want to eat. I guess that's bratty, but I think dieting is made of evil.

When people lecture me about the horrors of carbs or whatever is the trendy diet of the moment, my ears start to bleed.

Honestly, while preggers I crave fruit and veggies more than anything - except ice cream and cereal and an occassional cheesesteak. And, I seriously can not wait to eat sushi again. These food pregnancy rules adopted by all of us crazy Americans SUCK!!!! I really want sushi.

Anyway, I don't know what kind of cray cray diet company would want Kirstie Alley endorsing anything. Yo yo dieting is for suckas.

@Susan - I was the same way as you until I graduated college & then I had to start doing both (dieting/exercise), not one or the other. My husband & I are doing South Beach right now, but aren't super duper strict. We usually cheat on the weekends. We have both lost weight on it & feel great. Our docs okayed it for both of us. We eat very little "bad" carbs, eat lots of "good" carbs, veggies, lean protein etc. Smaller portions + water + exercise and we are looking much better than we did a year ago. Following any kind of diet is kind of a pain in the a$$ but once you get the hang of it, it kind of becomes second nature. I think everyone's life/work schedules are different, so how they modify what they eat is too. I don't think I could have done the SBD back when i was working FT + in school PT, but it works w/ our lifestyle now.

Good luck w/ your weight loss! You really haven't gained much & if you were active before, I'd say you should be able to lose it pretty easily!

MCH - That's awesome that South Beach is working for you. As long as you feel and look good, that's all that matters! Thanks for your tips.

Now if only I can get to sleep. Any help for pregnancy insomnia? LOL.

I am hereby issuing a public challenge to Kirstie Alley: I will donate to a charity of her choice $50,000 from the proceeds of the sale of my home if she can prove she weighs 180 pounds or less. She can do this by going to an independent doctor's office or hell, coming on up to Portland and weighing in on my scale. This must be done by October 17. Come on Kirstie, I dare you. I double dog dare you.
