Today's Blind Items

This Golden Globe nominee/winner movie actress used to be A list. Barely, but she was. Now though she is probably a C+ with much higher name recognition than that. Her slide into C list land is probably because she is not the most likable person in the whole world and she does not work as much as she used to. Anyway, on her most recent production, she had brought along her three dogs and two cats and they would hang out in her trailer all day. On one of those days, while she was out with her dogs, one of her cats knocked over a candle and the trailer caught on fire. The trailer was a loss, but the cats managed to get out. In fact, production was halted for a day, not because of the trailer damage, but because she insisted the entire crew look for the two missing cats. I am still awaiting word whether the cats were found, but will let you know as soon as I here.

This screams Sharon Stone to me

  2. Hear. Okay, I guessing she could have had a few assist her in finding two cats and not shut down production?? BI worthy? No. Other than that, I got nothin'.

  3. Melanie Griffith. Her mother is Tipi Hedron, a huge animal rights activist, particularly working with cats.

  4. Wow! I googled Melanie and "pets," and Tippi had a pet lion that hung out with the kids! Pic

  5. How about Charlize Theron? She won for Monster and was nominated again for a movie called North Country that I have no memory of ever having heard. I know she's got a lot of dogs and she hasn't worked much lately. Don't know if there's ever been any gossip about her being hard to get along with.

  6. Great pic Mooshki. What kind of whack-a-doodle lets a lion hang out with the kids?

  7. Tippi is awesome - does a ton of work rescue wild cats from irresponsible owners in the US - has a sanctuary for them in California that is amazing.

Anyway, sounds like this is recent, so perhaps we'll all know soon ;) I thought Melanie won an Oscar, though?

  8. What about Kim Basinger ?

  9. My bad - she didn't win, but she DID win the GG!

  11. Why did Julia Roberts pop into my head when I read this

    ReplyDelete
  12. Royal Eduardo, I think Julia is permanant A list. She's got the nasty rep, but she was so megafamous and EVERYWHERE during the entire 90s, she's forever A. Not that it makes me happy to say that.

  13. My first thought was Heigl, she does a lot of work with animals.

  16. I agree with dijea. Katherine is known for her love of dogs, and recently paid to fly some rescue(d) dogs to new homes.

  17. Oh god, please tell me that's a photo shopped pic of the lion with that girl's neck practically in his mouth!

While Hendren is to be commended for her work with animals, she was/is CRAZY to let a wild animal get that close to her kids.

  18. Only a fucking idiot leave their cats alone with lit candles.

  19. Sounded kinda familiar so I Googled "movie set fire candle" and came up with this (albeit a few years old) item on a fire on the set of Paris Hilton's "House of Wax" in 2004:

    Also starred Elisha Cuthbert

  20. I know that Kate Hudson is now the Ben Affleck of BIs, but she did win a GG, and isn't working as much as she used to. Does she have a lot of animals?

  21. whoever the person-f-ing babosa...who the f- leaves a lit candle in a room PERIOD regardless of cats being in there.
damn cats are probably running to a smarter owner.

  22. I'm with you delilah...I am terrified of having candles lit even when I am home! Too many pets and kids running around! Recipe for disaster!

  23. Mango, there's a whole series of those pics with Tippi, the kids and the lion hanging out by the pool. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Sure, trained animals aren't likely to attack, but would you risk your kids' lives over "not likely?"

  24. Catherine Zeta Jones

  25. Was Mena Suvari ever considered A list? She immediately popped into my head.

  26. Whoever it is she must be the dumbest person on the planet. Who leaves a lighted candle unattended?

  27. What @Little Miss Smoke and Mirrors said

Why bother taking cats to a set? As wigged out as they get with new surroundings?? Leave them at home and hire a pet sitter. And for the love of God, don't leave lighted candles anywhere unattended?!

  28. I dunno - not a real good example of what a bitch this person might be. I would hope people would volunteer to look for displaced animals. Then again, if she had to force production to halt so the crew could look for her cats, I suppose that is evidence enough she is not well-liked. A movie crew would probably gladly search for a missing cats and leave no stone unturned for someone like Johnny Depp (read about the coats thing - LOVE this man!).

  29. I like the Sharon Stone guess.

  30. I'm thinking Kirstie Alley?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Has Ashley Judd ever won a GG? She's supposed to be the answer to Lainey's "Mute Stones" blind, if I remember correctly, and thusly has a somewhat unlikeable reputation.

    ReplyDelete
  32. hmmm, I'm going to guess Claire Danes, GG winner for My So Called Life, slipped to B/C list, unlikable for her relationship with Billy Crudup, the douche who left his very pregnant girlfriend Mary-Louise for Claire...

  33. I know no one is perfect, but it should be "hear", not "here" in the last line. Sorry, there are somethings you should just catch. You know... just because you're a literate adult =)

  35. @looserdude - bless your heart, I just love the term "wack-a-doodle" brought an instant smile to my face

I immediatly thought of Kate Hudson - she just seems flaky like that

  36. @Looserdude, my Great-Grandfather used to work at the Audubon Zoo in New Orleans and he used to walk home with one of the lions. My mom remembers playing with him (Leo <- yes, a truly original name) at his house, as a little girl. I guess they used to treat the lion as a pet.

This is just a old story from a simpler era that will get lost to time, but I thought I'd share it.

  37. @ caydian, I remember when the Audubon Zoo was wide open and free. My friends used to swim with the sea lions at night. It w as a favorite party spot for us.

  38. One day I had a lit candle on my dining table (setting up for a romantic dinner with my honey) and apparently my cat got to it b.c when I looked at the cat, one side his whiskers were short and the other was long. He learned his lesson and doesnt jump onto the dining table.

  39. Ashley Judd was my first guess as well. I've heard that not only does she have an attitude, but she also has germaphobe issues that adds to the attitude problem. She once stated that she always has a dog in hand so she gets out of shaking hands with people. I'm not sure if she's a fan of cats too, but for some reason, I wouldn't be surprised if this is her.

    Judd Narrowly Avoids Bus Fire

    27 May 2005 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actress Ashley Judd narrowly avoided death after her luxury bus was destroyed by a fire, while she was shooting a movie scene on Monday. The Hollywood beauty spent hours in the vehicle resting, eating and rehearsing lines for independent movie Come Early Morning. But fortunately, she had left the bus to film a scene when it burst into flames, after a crew member left an unattended candle in the vehicle. Nobody was hurt, but damage to the bus - which was parked outside Los Angeles' Hollywood Country Club - came to a staggering $500,000.
