Bruce Beresford-Redman Taken Into Custody By US Marshals

Acting on a murder warrant issued in Mexico, US Marshals took Bruce Beresford-Redman into custody yesterday. The former Survivor producer is accused of killing his wife in Cancun last April. The police investigation into the murder cites a family who were staying below the room of the Redmans and said they were awakened by "screams, crying for help and extremely loud banging from the room above" at 6 a.m. on April 5. "It sounded like a woman in extreme distress" and lasted for 15 minutes, their statement said.

Also, Monica Beresford - Redman told her sister that she discovered her husband was still having an affair with a woman after he claimed to his wife it was over. Bruce was told to remain in Mexico until the investigation was concluded but he skipped back to the United States. His attorney said that his client is innocent and hopes a federal judge will not extradite Bruce to Mexico. I say send him to Mexico. Let him prove his innocence there.

Oh Wow...I thought he got away with it.

His father is delusional and his lawyer is a liar. They have witnesses hearing the couple fighting from their room and a hotel worker saw him try to assault her earlier. He was having an affair. He wanted her gone. Her body was found nearby. He had defensive wounds on him and blood was found in his hotel room.

But they KNOW he is innocent??? All that's missing is the video of the actual crime!

P.S. I hope he spends the rest of his miserable life in a Mexican prison. They love the rich gringos there!

I thought he had gotten away with it too.

Try him here, try him there, I don't care. I just want him to fry somewhere!

I'm glad they finally filed charges. It's about time.

Can you imagine how freaked out you'd be to hear this going on right above you at 6 a.m.? I wonder if these witnesses reported this activity to the hotel or police when it happened. In 15 minutes, there would have been enough time to call the front desk and have security make it up there and possibly save this woman's life. What happened?

That's what I'm thinking, Robert. And if it was heard above, it was heard in the room/s beside as well.

Agree with KellyLynn. About time. But hey, better late than never.

Mexican law enforcement took their time to investigate and dot their i's and cross their t's. They probably have a solid case for extradition and prosecution. I look forward to his many years in a Mexican jail.

Could he have been more obvious? Troubled marriage, sudden trip to a foreign country, murder of wife, sneaking back to U.S. Sounds suspicious to me.

Morning news said there was blood in the room and hubby had wounds. I hadn't heard that before. Too bad the witnesses didn't jump in and help a woman in distress. How did he dump her body in the sewer? So sad for little kids who have lost both parents.

Good of the people below to do nothing about those screams for help that went on for 15 minutes. Assfucks.

I'll never understand the thought process of how murder seems like an easier option than divorce.

i know nothing about mexican law but here's hoping all his money can't buy him the kind of defense O.J. got, and that he spends the rest of his life in a shithole mexican prison wishing to god he'd killed her in the good old USA.

@rose - too much time & effort right? I don't get it either.

What a monster this guy is. I'm with everyone else on why the room wasn't investigated when they heard the screaming!?

Guys like this don't want divorced because it's more expensive and they are stupid enough to think they won't get caught.

Supposedly the witnesses reported it to the front desk and the front desk called up to the room. A male voice answered and said everything was fine.

I'm sure several people reported the noise/screaming to the front desk and the hotel decided to stay out of it. I used to work at a resort in Mexico (near Cancun) and from my experience, very doubtful anyone would have stepped in. I hate to generalize, but in Mexico people often turn a blind eye to domestic violence.
