I Like This Chloe Moretz And Her Mom

Granted Chloe Moretz is only 13 so she could change in the future, but I am hoping she goes the way of Emma Watson rather than that of Lindsay Lohan. If the interview she gave to Bang Showbiz is any indication then I suspect she has more the Emma style parents who crack down. Because Chloe swears in some of her movies, they asked if she was allowed to do so at home.

"Do I swear at home? Oh no, my mom would totally kill me, I'd be grounded for the rest of my life if I swore at home."

See, I suspect the answer at the Lohan house even when Lindsay was 13 would have been like, "Oh, sure all the time."

She also says that because of her character in Kick Ass, people come up to her all the time and ask her to punch them in the face. Really? Why? Why would anyone ask to be pummeled by anyone? Their version of Fight Club?

  1. reminds me of the epi of friends where susan sarandan guest stars as joey's latest conquest/soap opera star who is famous for smacking people in the face and monica asks her if she will smack her.

  4. Kick Ass was an amazing movie and this girl totally stole the show. When she dropped the cunt bomb I nearly fell out of my chair.

  5. I saw Kick Ass yesterday and though her part was not even close to PC, she was amazing. Love her.

  6. I resent the implication that allowing your kids to swear turns them into coked out whores like LiLo. I've been swearing like a sailor since I was 9. My parents just taught me when and where it was appropriate. In fact when I was little, my dad told us we could only swear when we were in New York City. We'd be waiting in anticipation crossing the Holland Tunnel. "Fuck, are we there yet?" He'd reply, "You can't say that yet! Just a few more minutes." Once we got in the city we'd let a string of profanities out. Then we'd get bored of it eventually.

And honestly, one of my favorite aspects of studying linguistics was swearing with my professors and studying it - not judging it.

  7. @Karmen - I agree. People say it's low-brow, etc...etc.

It's a word. It only has as much power as you WANT to give it.

  9. LOL @ Karmen, you reminded me that when my Dad was teaching me ti drive, he told my you had to be able to swear. It kept you from killing someone on the road.

  10. There is video footage of my brother begging the girl he was secretly in love with (they are now married) to punch him in the head at a party. She told him no and he kept asking until she finally did it. She punched the sh*t out of him and he fell over, but the best part was that the guy holding the camera, who captured the entire thing perfectly, told them he didn't get it, so she did it again. In the top corner of the screen, you can see me passed out on the couch. I will never forgive myself for missing that.

  15. It isn't about swearing, it's about having boundaries.

  16. Karmen, I was an Air Force brat. My dad taught me to swear so that I could impress the guys in his office when I was allowed to visit. I am proud to say that I made some GIs blush with my fine renditions of *@!# and x#@!
