RIP.......Loved you...
ReplyDeleteRIP Leslie. I grew up watching you as Frank Drebin and just recently discovered your earlier work. Thank you for the laughs.
ReplyDeleteSo sad. Naked Gun was one of my favorite franchises growing up. "I am serious. And don't call me 'Shirley'" is one of my all-time favorite quotes.
ReplyDeleteSurely this can't be true?
ReplyDeleteSadly it is. And we're not calling him Shirley.
RIP Leslie.
Wow. Tears just came to my eyes. You will be missed, Leslie.

I co-sign. RIP. Make you keep the angels in heaven laughing.
This does not make for a good start of the week. He was an all time classic in my mind. Even as Lucas Hollingsworth on the Golden Girls. So sad.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite movie of his was Forbidden Planet from 1956.
ReplyDeleteThanks for all the laughs, Leslie. You were one of a kind and will be missed.
ReplyDeleteRIP Leslie. The world will be a little less fun without you.
ReplyDeleteThese are some absolutely HILARIOUS clips from the show Police Squad, you'll see the similarities to (and inspiration for) Airplane! Leslie Neilson was a national treasure. RIP.

Must not have been a big time drug user. See, Lohan you could live to this ripe, old age. LOL.
ReplyDeleteRIP.
RIP Leslie! You were absolutely hilarious. Naked Gun series and Airplane are some of the funniest movies ever.
ReplyDeleteI loved Forbidden Planet, too. When I was in my teens (in the late 80s), I had a huge crush on the 1950s version of Leslie. May he rest in peace.
ReplyDeleteHe was one of the great ones. I'm going to miss him a lot.
ReplyDeleterest in peace leslie. what a great talent.
ReplyDeleteHe was awesome and I believe, pretty charitable, too.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite Naked Gun scene is when he's eating pistachios.
Thanks for the laughs!
ReplyDeleteHope they run some of his movies on TV. He was A list in my book.
ReplyDeleteI was just watching a clip of him the other day. Damn, I'm going to miss him.
ReplyDeleteRIP Mr Nielsen
ReplyDeleteThank you for your body of work, and for allowing yourself to be convinced that you could do comedy and having faith that your fans could appreciate you for it.
And a thousand blessings on the head of the casting director who had that stroke of genius.
:( :( :(
ReplyDeleteRIP Mr. Nielsen
ReplyDeleteAirplane was one of my favorite movies as a kid.
