Today's Blind Items - Then And Now
This former A list co-star of a long-running NBC drama from the 90s was always known for being sexy and classy. Recently she was at a trendy L.A. eatery shoveling down not one, not two, but three huge cheese and fixing-laden salads as though she were eating for two. She isn't. For her eating frenzy that day she wore baggy gray sweats and yellow sneakers. After eating and paying, the tired-looking actress got up unsteadily from her table and let out two huge burps. She then staggered to her Volvo station wagon before driving off, leaving witnesses stunned.
Kirstie Alley (sp?)
ReplyDeleteDrama... 90s... ER... One of the ladies from ER.
ReplyDeleteheather locklear
ReplyDeleteOne of the ladies from Law and Order, Jill Hennesey?
ReplyDeleteSad.
ReplyDeleteMelrose Place was on Fox, so not Heather Locklear.
ReplyDeletePlease not Jill Hennessey. I always loved her for some reason. I think someone from ER is a good guess. Julianna M. still looks pretty good. Maura T had breast cancer, right? Is there a different show that's a possibility?
ReplyDeletehee hee. i love it. but i have no idea.
ReplyDeleteIf it had been a show from the 80's, I'd have guessed Cybil Shepherd...LOL
ReplyDeleteSherry Stringfield from ER?
ReplyDeleteShe was an A-list star in the 90's. Let her be...she deserves it. At least she's eating salad! LOL!
ReplyDeletemaggiemei - Good guess. I was trying to figure out who it could be but couldn't come up with a name beyong Juliana Marguiles who is on a CBS drama currently, so I ruled her out.
ReplyDeleteMelissa Leo was on Homicide Life on the Street.
ReplyDeletePamela Anderson- Baywatch
ReplyDeleteWhat about Kim Delaney - she was on NYPD Blue
ReplyDelete"Sister's" was a big drama on NBC in the early 90's and ran for six seasons. Sela Ward was known for being sexy and classy (though, so was Swoozie Kurtz). Though Sela's character wasn't exactly 'classy' on the show, I can't tell if Enty is refering to the actress as being sexy and classy or the character she played.
ReplyDeleteI would think with a Volvo station wagon, she has kids, though maybe older?
Susan Dey, from LA Law?
ReplyDeleteJanine Turner from Northern Exposure
ReplyDeleteWho cares? I think it's refreshing to hear about a female star who is actually EATING.
ReplyDeleteNo idea.
ReplyDelete***To all seasoned CDAN peeps:
This is OT, but where has Harriet Hellfire gone?
I asked about her one other time and don't recall any responses (I don't do any FB or other social media, sorry).
Just wondering b/c I don't recall seeing her comments in a long time and she was funny and smart.
Thanks!
Oh, and the sweats were probably her throwing-up clothes. (the Blind, not HH)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait for the reveal of this one.
ReplyDeleteKellie Martin from ER.
ReplyDeleteI can't come up with anything that hasn't been said already, although I think maybe "tired-looking" may be a clue...
ReplyDeleteSelenakyle - Harriet Hellfire is still here, but posting under another name - "Maja. With a J." I think. I remember this being discussed previously. (Maybe answering your previous post after you had already checked out?)
@ ms_goodness and Selenakyle
ReplyDeletedo you know anything about Molly or Ernestine? Or have I just not noticed them posting.
p.s. and also "Lutefish/not a famous adrian"
ReplyDeleteEating disorder.
ReplyDeleteSounds like something I'd do - except I'd burp behind my hand and giggle. (No, not really). I guess when an actress actually eats and has the balls to do it in public, it's news, or a delicious blind item. No pun intended, and none taken, I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteI also was thinking Sela Ward from Sisters. Is it possible the headline-Then and Now is a reference to her show Once and Again? Okay, I may be stretching it!
ReplyDeleteAh, thanks, ms_goddess! Seen her plenty of times, then.
ReplyDeleteHey HH! I am not stalking you!
(in my job I'm with strangers for months at a time so CDAN is my favorite friend/social outlet-replacement system)
@***, I though someone got huffy with Ernestine or vice-versa at one time, not sure. And I think Lutefisk might go between different names sometimes.
My brain is fried. No idea, basically. You all are far more helpful than I could ever be, that's for damn sure!
Someone ate three salads? With cheese??????? Oh. AND burped??? Hm. Must be a slow day for blinds.
ReplyDeletesela ward is on csi:ny and she still looks great. so i'm not convinced it's her.
ReplyDeleteHere is a list of Golden Globe nominees and winners. The show would have to be a hit in order for the co-star to be A list.

Just because she did this doesn't mean she looks bad underneath the sweats...chances are she will go home and throw it up.
ReplyDeleteWhat about that nasty girl from PROFILER...beautiful, drop dead gorgeous, but behind the scenes was a total witch to everyone she worked with...
Lara Flynn Boyle?
ReplyDeleteMarkie Post
ReplyDeleteSusan Dey has been public with her struggles with anorexia and bulemia, but LA Law was during the 80s, not the 90s. The biggest dramas on NBC during the 90s were ER and Sisters. I'd look to the stars of those shows. All that being said, what's the big deal about this? Eating three salads is a bit strange, but once I thought about it, I hit the salad bar at Jason's Deli pretty hard about once a month myself. It would seem to some that I'm eating a huge amount of food, even though it's not a huge number of calories. Also, that's my big meal that day. Dinner after a salad bar pigout is usually soup or sometimes cereal. This woman doesn't necessarily have a problem. I look tired sometimes, too. You know, when I'm tired.
ReplyDeleteHow or more importantly *why* is this a blind gossip item? And why should anyone care? Someone ate. Wow. Reading this blind and then seeing people ponder who it could be, whether they wore sweats to they could throw up, etc., disappoints me, really. And we wonder why people have weight issues.
ReplyDeleteSelenakyle, I am still here. I only use Lutefisk when I post, nothing else. I have had some personal problems taking up much of my time lately, so I have been reading, but not posting.
ReplyDeleteStockard Channing from ‘The West Wing’?
ReplyDeleteI agree, this shouldn't even be a blind. Wow, someone ate three salads and then burped.
ReplyDeleteThe only thing that caught my interest when it said she's not eating for two. The only way someone would REALLY know that is if the woman is 50+, beyond fertility. So that may be a clue, that the woman is in her 50s or 60s.
Take care, Lutefisk, and be well! Glad lots of the older CDAN peeps are around. I've only been on since I think late '06 or whenever Enty Blinded about the older male movie star who called Enty late-night b/c he took too much Viagra...that Blind hooked me, whenever it was!). Funny, blinds like that back then seemed obvious that Enty is in fact an EntLawyer... I don't question it these days nor really care, but it made me just now ralize a definite difference in the subject matter of the Blinds.
ReplyDeleteWhatever, I am up wayyyy late bullshitting around on the dang internet instead of working...
Again - OT - I was wondering the same thing about Harriet Hellfire and why she changed her name. Loved that pseudonym. Harriet - why did you change your name?
ReplyDeleteAnd back on topic - I think it's Susan Dey for this blind item, too.
Angie Harmon. Law and Order. Totally.
ReplyDeleteOT, but I kind of miss W.E.Dubois. Whenever I see that name post it makes me smile. I want to ask him/her if they are part of the "Talented Tenth"?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I don't get the big deal about this either, but for some reason, Sherry Stringfield occurred to me.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteSherri Stringfield has weight struggles. But honestly, a salad, it is still a salad, people. Now if she ate 3 burgers, yes.
ReplyDeletedid they mention what kind of cheese? more interested in that than the celebrity's identity.
ReplyDeletegoat cheese? feta cheese? gorgonzola? or was it just that crappy shredded monterey jack?
this is very important.
@The Help - Lara Flynn Boyle wasn't on any NBC shows in the 90's (she was on Twin Peaks and The Practice, both of which were on ABC).
