It's A Long Named Boy For Elton John
In the I wasn't really expecting this story, Elton John and his husband, David Furnish welcomed a baby boy into the world on Christmas morning. With the responsibility of down the road inheriting the world's largest sequined jumpsuit and sunglasses collection comes a name that will be very touch to fit into standardized forms. Zachary Jackson Levon Furnish-John was born to a surrogate.
It is like the couple took every name they kind of liked in the baby book of names and said, yes, that should be a part of it too. I was going to say they were big fans of The State, but then Levon would have had some Barry love too.
Enty left out the biggest part of the story. The baby was born on Christmas day just like Levon song in 1970.
ReplyDeleteI'm happy for them.
ReplyDeleteGood for them....
ReplyDeleteI will be sending $240 dollars worth of pudding.
ReplyDeleteEven if they picked a bazillion names, at least the names were traditional ones.
ReplyDeleteAlthough I agree the name is way too long, I was tickled to see they included the name Levon on there. It's a beautiful song. I forgot that Levon was born on Christmas Day. Thanks for reminding me, timbob.
ReplyDeletei have that many names so i dont see the issue
ReplyDeleteThanks timebob, I always loved that song.
ReplyDeleteI like 3 names if they work together and I think little ZJ's names flow well.
I think Elton has wanted a kid for a long time. Isn't that why he married a woman years ago? Congrats to the happy Dads.
Very cool! Good for them!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it shall be Levon...
ReplyDeleteHey, the kid has Zachary for a first name. Given he's a show biz kid, he's lucky as hell!
ReplyDeleteI'm a little disturbed that this child's dad #1 is 68 years old. Will Zachary know dad #1 for long?
ReplyDeleteElton John is 62 and his partner is 48. So one of the dads will be around awhile.
ReplyDeleteHow is his last name John when that is a stage name? Did Elton change his name from Reginald Dwight to Elton John? I never understood how that worked with celebrities naming children after their pseudonym sur name
ReplyDelete@MontanaMarriot - Actually you can name your child anything you want. Last name and all.
ReplyDeleteGood for them. That is one long name. I guess maybe this might be their only child together & they couldn't settle on just one name? :)
ReplyDeleteI think reg Dwight changed his name legally many years ago. He as knighted as Sir Elton, not Sir Reg, and they would use his legal name for that.
ReplyDeleteAnd he shall be a good man....
ReplyDeleteWith all the whacked out celeb names the kid should be happy he is Zachary. He could be Banjo or Pilot or some of the others that make you wince to read them.
ReplyDeleteCongrads to the proud parents.
This child will do just fine. He will grow up normally inspite of his fantastic fathers! He'll be normal, and probably a barrel of monkeys.
ReplyDeleteAt least they didnt call the child Jesus, because they like the name. Im sure he'll go to the finest school in town.
ReplyDeleteThe only reason this shocked me is because Elton is such a prima donna, he has hissy fits that rival a toddler when things aren't EXACTLY as he wants them. Parenting involves a lot of sacrifice, though I suppose it will be the fleet of nannys taking care of that.
Damn, can we see pics of the nursery please! Pompous Glam overkill at it's finest!
ReplyDeleteDavid & Elton are surprisingly level headed & little Zac is sure to be loved. Happy for them all :)
it makes me so happy that one of his names is levon.
ReplyDeleteIs it an egg donor mom?
ReplyDeleteOr is the surrogate actually the mom?
I think the little guy will sure want to know someday.
