Spiderman Actor Injured
The trouble plagued Spider-Man on Broadway has been one disaster after another as it gets ready for the official opening. The production cost $75M and will have to sell out for the next five years every single day to even earn its money back. Well, last night, an actor was injured when he fell 30 feet to the ground while on a wire and some equipment and other props fell into the audience when it happened. This production is jinxed and I don't think it will ever earn its money back despite all the effects and the U2 music which accompanies it.
Did they not have enough time to prepare? One of the producers of the Lion King is behind this, and I'm not sure what to make of what's going on.
ReplyDeleteIt's a good concept though.
i just don't get why the backers, et al involved, don't know when to call it a day. it's never going to make $.
ReplyDeleteyou gotta know when to fold 'em, you know?
I was afraid something like this would happen. When I read about the disastrous premiere with people left hanging over the audience and such my first thought was that something that dangerous should have been carefully planned and executed.
ReplyDeleteDid we learn nothing from Pink?!?!!?!!
ReplyDeleteThe injuries, the insane amount of money being spend on...Is it really worth it?
ReplyDeletegreat idea. we all know fanboys and straight dudes LOVE Broadway.
ReplyDeletecann''t wait for Transformers- the Musical.
All together now...
ReplyDelete"Springtime ... for Hitler... and Germany is here!"
@Merlin D. Bear, I thought the same thing. This production has a "Producers"-style scam written all over it. Somebody, somewhere pocketed a lot of money for a show that may never officially open.
ReplyDeleteLearn what from Pink? Did she get hurt doing her rope thing?
ReplyDeletei saw a piece about this show on '60 minutes.' $65 million!! RIDICULOUS!
ReplyDeletethe show is cursed---4th injury and it hasn't even opened. forget it already.
@lanasyogamama - Here you go!
ReplyDeleteI would have had a heart attack if I saw the dude fall. Why are the production costs so high? The only glimpse I've seen of this is Conan's version. :)
Whoa, thanks MCH.
