Today's Blind Items - Kindness

This B- list actor is on a hit network television show right now. He used to be on another hit show back in the day, but was not the star like he is right now. Anyway, he recently got a very large raise and decided to spend a portion of it doing good. He went to the largest homeless shelter in downtown Los Angeles and handed out $20,000 in $100 gift cards to Wal-Mart to every person with a child and then arranged three buses to transport all the people to the closest Wal-Mart.

  1. First name that came to mind is Ed O'Neill.

  2. I love all these kindnesses, because I know they're in preparation for Reveal Day. Woo hoo!

  3. I like Alanna's guess. Whomoever it was that sure was nice.

This was so nice. Whoever the person that did this.

  5. No clue who it was, but what a fabulous story. Looking forward to this reveal.

  6. Awesome!! I also like that he arranged transportation to store immediately. That way they didn't have to worry about their cards being stolen (or sold to get drug money) and the kids all got something right away. Good to see someone who is very highly compensated give to those who are down on their luck. I'd love to see more of this and fewer $700 shoes and $2,000 purses!

  7. Wonderful! Ed O'Neill certainly fits!

  8. Yay, can't wait for the reveal!

    ReplyDelete
  9. How about Chris Meloni?

    ReplyDelete
  10. Don't you think Ed O'Neill was more famous before? I think a heck of a lot more people watched 'Married.'

    ReplyDelete
  11. Ed O'Neil came to mind for me too. Except he was the star of Married with Children, no?

    ReplyDelete
  12. I thought of that Mooshki but I read it as he was not the star of the show like he is now.

    ReplyDelete
  13. Johnny Galecki - I didn't even think this item was all that blind. And they just got raises on that show.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I think it's Johnny Galecki. The principles just received a huge salary jump, around 10 times what they were previously making.
And of course, he was on Roseanne.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I like the Johnny Galecki guess. Fits more than Ed O'Neil. Love both of them, though. Can't wait for reveal day!

  16. "breaking dad" 's actor Bryan Cranston(he also was the dad in "malcom")

    ReplyDelete
  17. Breaking Bad isn't a network show, and it says the current show is a network show. Otherwise, I like the guess!

    ReplyDelete
  18. if this is Meloni he is officially the hottest piece!

    ReplyDelete
  19. just to offer up a diff. option...

mark harmon = star of 'ncis', but back in the day was on 'st. elsewhere' which was huge back in the day.

  20. ^queen of redundancy being redundant. ;)

  21. Now that I've googled the name, I think it's definitely Johnny Galecki.
It's funny I never knew his name, but I remember him well as David on "Roseanne". And what I remember most distinctly about JG is how struck I was by a feeling of how nice and REAL he was in every interview and appearance back then. As in, my fake-dar never went off with him in anything.

    I hope it's him.

And like someone said, genius that he provided immediate transportation.

  22. ed o'neill WAS the star of the old show, though---'married with children'. and i think he's higher than B- too.

    ReplyDelete
  23. Pookie, the only reason I don't think it's MH is that he was pretty big before, not really as much now.

I was so hot for him back when "Moonlighting" was good. ---And that's another reason it's probably not him--his Moonlighting role was kind of stunt casting---he was that big back in the 80's.

  24. I come to this blog for amusement and a bit of an escape. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the Kindness blinds (and reveals). Thanks so much.

No clue who it is and looking forward to who this is.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I got a little teary with this one.

The cherry on top was arranging for transportation.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh, please let it be Johnny Galecki. I've loved him since Roseanne. I could have sworn he was the popular guess on a blind that showed some not-so-great behavior, and finding out this was him will cancel out the negative thoughts I've had about him since then.

    ReplyDelete
  27. The B- is throwing me because if it hadn't said that, I would say it's Neil Patrick Harris.

I think the Johnny Galecki guess is interesting and since I had to look him up, I think he might be more B- cuz I knew him when I saw him.

I dunno, but whomever it is probably would like to stay anonymous and get that crown in heaven instead of down here.

  28. Ed O'Niel was very much the star of Married with Children.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I'm going with Ian Somerhalder from Vampire Diaries and Lost? Or is VD not on a network?

    ReplyDelete
  30. Neil Patrick Harris WAS the star of Doogie Howser M.D.

    ReplyDelete
  31. I'm jumping on the Galecki train too. It seems to fit.

    ReplyDelete
  32. I think it's Nathan Fillion, now on Castle, formerly on Firefly. Once they got renewed, I think they all got raises.

    ReplyDelete
  33. I am not sure, but what a classy guy.

    ReplyDelete
  34. @RenoBlondee - you just made me realize that the initials of that show are "VD". That's a shame. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  35. I'm with Pookie -- Mark Harmon. (I think a similar blind about him was on this site a couple of years ago).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Anonymous4:14 PM

I was also thinking Mark Harmon.

    ReplyDelete
  37. @RocketQueen-I know, I actually paused to look at that and wonder if I should leave it that way, ha!Glad it wasn't just me that noticed it!

    ReplyDelete
  38. On the Johnny train. Ed O'Neill was a big star when 'Married' was on the air. That show was on forever and was the first big sitcom hit for Fox.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Too bad it says 'network' actor, or I'd have gone with Misha Collins from 24/Supernatural. He even runs a charity called Random Acts, which quietly does this kind of thing on a regular basis.

I'll go with Ed O'Neill then and if so, I'd think he needs some positive PR to make up for the Jane Lynch debacle.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Mmm, Nathan Fillion. If this is him, I'm going to start stalking him for real. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  41. It has to be my boyfriend Nate. On Castle now, apparently previously on Firefly (which I have never seen), but back, back in the day he was a semi-regular on "Two Guys, a Girl and a Pizza Place."

    ReplyDelete
  42. I really think Mark Harmon is higher than B list...I have loved him most of my life....

    ReplyDelete
  43. You and me both Mooshki! My future husband Nathan grew up in my home town. He is known here for doing kind things when he's back in town visiting family.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Excellent! Whoever is featured in a kindness blind should get automatic A List status (at least here) for being a super human being!

    ReplyDelete
  45. Ben McKenzie, on the OC and now Southland - set in LA

    ReplyDelete
  46. @ Ms. Snarky - If you've never seen Firefly, you can't claim Nathan.I remember watching him back when he was Joey on One Life To Live. :-)

I'm going with Johnny or Mark - Ed O'Neill & the NPH were both leads on their previous shows.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Firefly was NOT a hit show. The audience grew later and the show took on cult status only when it came out on DVD. So not Fillion.

NPH and O'Neill were the stars on their last hit shows.

Jeez, I know Enty's blinds aren't always so clearly written, but this one's fairly straightforward!

The JG guess is a good one if they just got raises.

    ReplyDelete
  48. Don't spoil our Fillion buzz, Alisha! ;)

    ReplyDelete
  49. Nice guy, whoever it is.

    ReplyDelete
  50. @C17 -

I saw him first! Two Guys and a Girl was way before Firefly! : )

    ReplyDelete
  51. and Two Guys and a Girl was a reasonable hit. RyRy got his start there.

    ReplyDelete
  52. Patrick Warburton - was on Seinfeld and now stars on that new show with David Spade.

    ReplyDelete
  53. Anonymous10:00 AM

    It's James Galecki.

It can't be Ed O'Neil or NPH. They were both the stars of their old shows.

And it can't be Meloni, either. The BI says the shelter is in LA. Meloni is in NY.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Oh I how love this blind!

I also love the Mark Harmon guess, but that's because I'm secretly stalking him. Although since I have proclaimed my love for him all over Facebook, it can't be that secret, right?

I think MH is probably higher than B-....so the JG guess fits.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Actually the Patrick Warburton guess is pretty solid, too. Plus I have a little mini-crush on him, in a "he's cute for a Neanderthal" kind of way. But Nathan is my first love!

    ReplyDelete
  56. I love this person.

    ReplyDelete
  57. Fabulous! Whoever it was sending you 1000% good fortune of that you gave. Happy Holidays everyone!!

    ReplyDelete
  58. I hadn't interpreted the sentence that he wasn't the STAR of his old show, but that the old show didn't make him the KIND of star he is today. That's where the NPH thought came from.

    ReplyDelete
  59. David Boreanaz??
