Billy Joel Boozes It Up - Drives Away
Billy Joel enjoyed some lunch with his wine yesterday. It does not look like there were very many people there, but Billy sure did accumulate the wine glasses. After lunch, Billy got on his Vespa and drove away without a helmet on. Was Billy drunk? Who knows? It does some weird though the way he poses. I just know I would not want him anywhere near me with his driving record.

ReplyDeleteI only see one glass of white wine near him. The rest are water glasses.
ReplyDeleteHmmm....5 glasses total. At least three people at that table. Two of the glasses are obviously water glasses (larger than wine glasses, clear liquid - just like at any normal lunch).
ReplyDeleteThree people, three glasses of wine. Billy may be fond of a few drinks, but to insinuate he's driving drunk with no proof is kind of lousy.
This has been going on for a long time...
ReplyDeleteAt least on a motorcycle he's probably mostly at risk for killing himself.
ReplyDeleteAt one point Christie Brinkley forbid him from driving their daughter anywhere. I think he is on an intimate basis with a few trees and porches on Long Island.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree with Ms. Snarky. And, um, how old is this picture?
ReplyDeleteLast I checked, February generally is NOT T-shirt and shorts weather in New York.
He's probably in St Barts, far away from this endless snow!
ReplyDeleteHis license plate says New York. I doubt he schlepped his bike to St. Barts.
ReplyDeleteDrunk or not in this pic, when you're as rich as Billy Joel one would think he'd pay someone to drive him when he's out getting hammered.
ReplyDeleteIndictment by gossip blog pap photo. Nice! Albeit the guy obviously has a drunk driving history. Billy v. Tree etc. etc. Still, character evidence is generally inadamissible in court for a reason.
ReplyDeleteThat picture was not taken in NY yesterday. Either he brought the bike to CA, or this is a bogus story.
ReplyDeletegood eyes!
ReplyDeletePhoto assumption fail.

ReplyDeleteI am totally confused. First, where is the picture taken? Clearly that is a NY license on his Vespa. As others have mentioned, it is really cold here right now. Second, also as other posters have said, I see two glasses of water, what looks like it could be 2 glasses of red wine and a fifth oddly shaped bottle that may or may not have alcohol in it. I also see two cups of coffee - one being consumed by Joel. Obviously one of the glasses of wine was drank by each guest (a server wouldn't bring a second glass and leave the first there). So, using these three photos to insinuate that Billy Joel got trashed and went driving is pretty stupid. He had a glass of wine, then had a coffee, then drove off on his Vespa. Ummm... Without knowing how long he sat at the lunch, we have no way of knowing if he was intoxicated.
ReplyDeleteI know he has a history, but sheesh. I'm just sayin'...
And by the way, I meant a fifth glass that was oddly shaped, not a bottle.
ReplyDeleteAfter a cursory Google search, I found more pictures from this lunch dated 2/4/2009. So yeah, it's outdated, but the rest of the pictures suggest a bottle of white, a bottle of red, and beer was consumed. Obviously we don't know who drank what, but....

Sorry about that ugly link - I don't know how to make it clickable.
Ok, what the heck? If these photos are two years old, then why is Enty saying this was lunch yesterday? This little gossip item must have been straigh lifted from another site...
ReplyDeleteRQ - first, try tiny URL - you paste in the big ugly URL and it shortens it for you...
ReplyDeleteBut also, I don't believe that is the same lunch. The chairs are totally different, the setup of Billie's background in the picture where his arms are raised doesn't match the background of the pix you showed of him in Miami. Also, he doesn't have his pug, and the stupid hat with the glasses wrapped around it isn't the same hat as in the picture you showed. The hat in your pictures has a reddish brim, the one in these photos looks black. Sorry - one of my favorite games as a child was "spot the differences"!
Check out this article in the Daily Mail (and RQ - I used tinyurl.com to shorten it):

These are new photos of him with friends in Miami. The Daily Mail is pointing out that he is ignoring Elton John's advice...
Thanks KLM :)
ReplyDeleteI really really thought it was the same picture - same shirt, shorts, etc....and since Enty didn't say these pics were from yesterday, thought maybe he was taking some artistic license! But you're right, the hat and chairs are different. So much for my sleuthing!
It was a fantastic attempt at sleuthing! Sleuthing is one of my favorites - keep it up!
ReplyDeleteI agree, there is not that much wine in this pic. He should still be wearing a helmet.
ReplyDeleteA bottle of white...a bottle of red.
ReplyDeletePerhaps a bottle of rosé instead?
Nice sleuthing!
I love the muscle pose, Billy! :)
Hmmmm...A bottle of red, a bottle of white, and a possible Italian Restraunt. Sounds almost like a song. ;)
ReplyDeleteAs I remember, there are no helmet laws in FL
ReplyDelete@ardleigh - That's what I'm saying! He was "at a table near the street..at an old familiar place."
ReplyDeletebut then again, the car ahead of him in the last pic also has a NY plate (the ones they started replacing last summer with blue & orange)
ReplyDeleteI don't know if he actually travels with his scooter, but I saw this photo on another site, and it said he was in Los Angeles.
ReplyDeleteDo you guys have any idea how many NY registered vehicles of all types are in Florida on any given day? Either snowbirds or rentals, they're everywhere. Especially now, during Snowmageddon?
ReplyDeleteThey're calling it snow fatigue. Damn climate change. I'm freezing.
