Charlie Sheen Makes Piers Morgan Something To Watch
There really is no reason at all to watch Piers Morgan. Paint drying on the wall is much more fascinating and there are more people worldwide probably watching paint dry than watching Piers' show. Anyway, last night Charlie Sheen was on his show and Charlie was in top form.
Don't you wish that when Britney Spears was having her breakdown or when Lindsay was getting arrested every week that they would have gone on live television or given interviews to everyone around them? Well, that is exactly what Charlie is doing and it is super entertaining. He is a misogynist pig, but he can make you laugh. I just do not know if I am laughing because he is funny or just because I have never watched someone fall apart right before my eyes. I am not sure when he slept last considering the traveling, the new hookers and the interviews he has given to every media outlet in the past 96 hours.
CBS says they are going to replace Charlie with John Stamos. Hmm. I love John Stamos, but I don't know if he would be the best fit. CBS would save lots and lots of money though because there is no way John Stamos is going to get paid $1M a week let alone two or three million a week. Charlie says that John does not have what it takes to replace Charlie.
Charlie's publicist quit which is one of the dumbest moves ever. This is a guy who actually pays his bills and uses his publicist. So what if Charlie bad mouthed you. Suck it up and keep working. Who else is going to pay you $30K a month? Yes, I know reports say Charlie fired his publicist, but the publicist quit. Oh, and someone should start selling Winning t-shirts because that is a catch phrase that is taking off. Oh, and is that Twitter account still up and running because it was hilarious. If someone has a link please put it in the comments.
I like John Stamos. He has the same devilish attitude as Charlie Sheen, but without the same level of dickwadishness.
ReplyDeleteI actually watched Piers Morgan this morning for the interview, and would take PM over Larry King anyday. However, those CNN morning anchors have to go. They're stinkin' up the network.
Uh, maybe his publicist quit because he has INTEGRITY??
ReplyDeleteOr because he sees something coming that not even he can handle and he wants absolutely no part of it.
ReplyDeleteWhere I come from we call that intelligence.
Rob Lowe would have been a better fit, but he's doing great on the criminally underrated Parks and Recreation.
ReplyDeleteIs the Stamos/Sheen swap an Old Darren/New Darren kinda thing? Or is a Jon Lovitz/Phil Hartmann thing?
I dunno, maybe invent a third brother who's been in Vegas all this time? The mind wonders...
Charlie finally mentioned two co-stars, Jon Cryer and Angus, saying they were just sitting at home waiting for something to happen. I don't see any of his co-workers jumping to his defense. I know they makes lots of money from that show, but I find his co-stars funnier than Sheen. He seems to think most people are un-evolved and stupid, so I'm thinking they work very hard for all that dough.
ReplyDeleteWho cares about Charlie...let him continue to implode....let the show go on with Stamos...and everyone except Charlie go back to work...sounds good to me. In truth anyone of us can be replaced in our jobs at anytime ...its arrogant to think otherwise.
ReplyDeleteCharlie-hahaha
ReplyDeleteI love how he refuses to apologize for being a crackhead!
I think I read that John Stamos' character would not be a replacement, but rather a new character. Meh. Give him a chance! Sheen's used all his.
ReplyDeleteI am SO sorry I missed that interview last night....but truth be told re: Morgan, I always kind of thought King was dull as dishwater, too.
Charlie calling into Howard Stern today was the best so far. Howard is going to try and get Chuck Lorre to call in tomorrow and Howard will mediate between Chuck & Charlie. I will be in heaven if he can make that happen.
ReplyDeleteI think Christian Slater would make a better fit but I think he is signed on for another show already. Like the others John Stamos is pretty but he is meh at being a bad boy.

ReplyDeleteI am going to watch, if only because Sheen is being such a douchbag that I want to support the show, cast and crew as much as possible to show him he wasn't the only good thing about the show. Jon Cryer and the kid are pretty darn funny too.

ReplyDeleteThis is pretty good

That reporter that came to see him, from TMZ? I wonder who he sleeps at night. How is he, and the others, not just taking advantage of someone who is clearly mentally ill?
ReplyDeleteWhy cant they get a 5150 (thats what its called, right?) on him? What else does he have to do?
The other costars are scared shitless of CBS brass. Charlie ain't.
ReplyDeleteGood for Stan Rosenfield (PR) but I bet he just ran out of creative ways to spin all of Charlie's BS shenanigans!
ReplyDeleteHe is not going to starve without Charlie, though. Stan also represents Robert De Niro, George Clooney, Danny DeVito, Geoffrey Rush, Gene Simmons, Helen Mirren, Kelly Ripa, Andy Garcia and more.
I bet they were nervous about getting Charlie stank on them.
Charlie is crazy....off his meds and out of control...he has to be Bi-polar there no other excuse.
ReplyDeleteAnd yes why haven't his parents stepped in.
Something is wrong with the 5150 scenario. It's not happening. They started talking 5150 last week. It's Tuesday already. Not happening.
ReplyDeleteAnd why hasn't someone come up with a show staring Charlie, Lilo, Xtina. That should be a big hit right now.
@Misch - I really hope that his family tried to step in, but Charlie blew them off. Sadly, Charlie is so off the rails right now that it will take him hurting himself or someone else to get him to seek help. I doubt his family can do anything, because he won't listen. And unlike Britney, we're talking about a 40-something year old. I have a hard time imagining that the courts would let his parents take guardianship when Charlie himself is a dad and older.
ReplyDeleteSadly, Martin Sheen released a statement last week defending Charlie. I'd link it but DListed is blocked at my work :(
ReplyDeletewhat Linnea said.
ReplyDeleteare we all forgetting how fkn sad it was for Britney at the end? TMZ is a bunch of vultures, they are no better than Radar exploiting an obviously mentally ill and addicted person in the middle of a trainwreck.
why would his publicist stick around Enty? Charlie went on national tv and told everyone the guy constantly lied for him?? am i missing something?
If Charlie said that about his publicist (which is more than likely true), it would behoove the publicist to quit. The publicist does not need the bad pr for himself.
ReplyDeleteThis post is bullshit. The publicist is the one person who has demonstrated any integrity in this situation. He gave up a big regular paycheck instead of continuing to milk the crazy cow for cash. Also, CBS disrupted a big hit show to do the right thing. How about a little honesty HERE. Can we agree that crazy people are not entertainment? Every time some celebrity goes off the rails the people around them, the facilitators, the parents, the leechers, get justifiably blamed after the fact. But it's not just them, is it? It's all of the people who want to be entertained by the spectacle. This causes the mouthbreathers media and the pretend friends to keep giving the person a forum and excuses for the behavior. It is hard enough to deal with this issue in private, much less while the whole world is watching. Stop it.
ReplyDelete"...maybe his publicist quit because he has INTEGRITY??"
ReplyDeleteHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!! HAHAHAHAHHAHA!!! HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Sorry, I can't stop laughing! HAHAHAHAHA!!!!!
I think they should've gone with Ron Livingston. He'd make a better Charlie Sheen 2.0 than Stamos. Although, if that means Emma will finally ditch Carl and get back together with Will, then I'm all for it!
I want to know why Sheen had his kids? Where are the grandparents????
ReplyDeleteAmartel, what makes you think he's mentally ill? Yes, he's crazy, but I haven't heard anything to suggest it's not the drugs/withdrawal from drugs making him that way.
ReplyDeleteI don't watch the show since don't see the funny but I think that it can go with someone else. The ratings may take a hit but not a huge amount. Money will still be made, the cast & crew will not have to worry if Charlie will be in on monday.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the cast is scared of CBS, I think they are sick of Charlie. They aren't standing up for him because he won't shut up about how he makes the show and is responsible for the success. they probably think they have something to do with it as well.
I love John Stamos, but does he have to save every show? Remember he came into ER at the end too. John Stamos is not going to get anywhere as near as much money as Charlie is making. Stamos never made it in films like Charlie did.
ReplyDeleteClearly you've never heard of drug-induced psychosis.

It is frickin amazing! A real read!
I hate to say this, but Charlie was on Howard Stern this morning, via phone, and he sounded pretty rational. Same stuff he's been saying, but he had some good points.
ReplyDeleteHe said he always showed up for work, never missed his marks (although sometimes they had to give him a chair), and he still has the top rated show, so why would they cancel it for the season?
And he said he's been pushing to get the crew paid for the rest of the season. He actually didn't sound crazy. Which is totally crazy.

ReplyDeleteAs sad as this is because it's obvious Charlie Sheen is bipolar and the massive drugs he has/is taking are not helping, the guy does have a way with words. I don't know - I find this fascinating, but at the same time think that more education about mental health issues should be out there. People with mental health issues should not be ashamed, but on the other hand, should not be fodder for entertainment. The media is certainly going to milk this because the bottom line for them is not ethical reporting, but money.
ReplyDeleteI say this and yet can't help reading these articles, either.
IA ms snarky
ReplyDeleteI've never watched the show, but from what I know about Jon Cryer, he is the LAST person who deserves this crap. And the kid's getting older every day, he just got a big raise too. I hope the Stamos transition goes well.

ReplyDeleteThe show needs to center around Berta who is stuck with the Alan and Jake after Charlie is gone.
ReplyDeleteyou're right ms snarky, timebob & nosey parker... when you remove the visual he likely has firm legal ground. just because he's insane or addicted doesn't mean he's wrong about everything.
ReplyDelete@timebob - I'd love to hear that mediation!
ReplyDeleteFor the sake of the remaining cast, I'm happy to hear that they plan on continuing production without Charlie Sheen. I like John Stamos a lot but I don’t think they should replace Charlie’s role of the lead actor with anyone. As a fan of Two and a Half Men (yeah, I admitted it), I can tell you the real star is Jon Cryer. He is seriously underrated as a comedic actor and his Alan Harper character is hilarious. Mr. Lorre would be smart to kill off Charlie Harper (my least favorite character by the way) and have Alan inherit the beach house. Jake could live there with a pregnant girlfriend/wife or have an unknown actor play a recently divorced 3rd brother with a young son and they can move in with Alan. Keep Berta and the rest of the supporting characters. If they bring in any other lead actor to replace Charlie, I give the show 1-2 more seasons at best. If they move Jon Cryer to the lead actor spot, the show might just last another 8-20 seasons and could possibly become one of the greatest sitcoms ever.
ReplyDeleteI could never get past the awful theme song to try to watch the show.
